Replies from GA review
[edit]Here are my responses from Talk:Zbrojovka Z 4/GA1
- 1: done
- 2: changed "2750" in lead/lede to "2,750"
- 3: I assume you want me to do this "In the early 1930s, Zbrojovka Brno produced the Z 9
type, a car which sales results did not meet expectations."
CosXZ (talk) 21:47, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, so those were only minor concerns. But I'll give you some other things I have a problem with:
- the lead is a bit short, maybe make it as big as this article's lead section or shorter.
- second year of the Czechoslovak 1,000 mile ==> second year of the Czechoslovak 1,000 mile
- debuted in April 1933 at the Prague motor show . ==> debuted in April 1933 at the Prague Motor Show.
- I will have more comments. 750h+ 13:12, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

GA noms usually take a long time. Honestly, I think I have only seen once an article that skipped GAN and went directly to FA status. You’ve got some courage to do that lol, especially without peer review. 48JCL (talk) 20:41, 22 May 2024 (UTC) |

I came to thank you for a GA review, and it fits here ;) - I remember today Bach's 1724 cantata for this Sunday which is unusual in many respects. - A woman's article needs attention for RD, Marina Kondratyeva. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:29, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
She's on the Main page now. My story today is - because of the anniversary of the premiere OTD in 1782 - about Die Entführung aus dem Serail, opera by Mozart, while yesterday's was - because of the TFA - about Les contes d'Hoffmann, opera by Offenbach. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:17, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
Today's story is about a photographer who took iconic pictures, especially View from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Manhattan, 9/11, yesterday's was a great mezzo, and on Thursday we watched a sublime ballerina. If that's not enough my talk offers the chamber music from two amazing concerts. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:21, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
Thank you today for Aston Martin DB9, "about one of the most gorgeous coupes and one of the most contemporary car designs of the early 21st century, and one of the best designs from Ian Callum."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:41, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for quality articles about cars such as Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin Rapide, Lagonda Taraf, but also Volkswagen Beetle ("I rewrote the article entirely to remove unsourced information, unreliable sources and redundancy."), for quality reviewing, for having been seen enjoying yourself, yesss, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
You are recipient no. 2946 of Precious, a prize of QAI. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:27, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

- ps: Thank you for the GA for BWV 178, but the bot seems not have picked it up, and I am not familiar with it to know why. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:39, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- Congratulations to a featured list, below! - What can be done about the missing GA credit for BWV 178? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:15, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! What do you mean "missing GA credit"? 750h+ 23:56, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Usually, Mike Christie's GA bot leaves messages on the talk during the GA process, from review (which I received) via "on hold" which didn't apply this time thanks to you, and finally promotion, which is missing. I could be a bot error. You added the icon manually, Mike added to the statistics manually, but I'd like a message on my talk as well, - could be informal. Today would be another meaningful day, with the cantata on the Main page ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for serving it! - Wikipedia:Main Page history/2024 July 30b will have a baritone, a violinist, a composer and a Bach cantata, - almost too much, and the composer's article, Wolfgang Rihm, should be better, help wanted. - Plenty of music on my parents anniversary day ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:16, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Removal of discussions at Talk:Angelina Jolie
[edit]Hi 750h+, you removed discussions from Talk:Angelina Jolie without explanation. This is a violation of WP:TALKO.
You may have had your reasons for removing those comments, but nevertheless it is a generally bad idea to do this. If you really want to get these off the talk page, I would suggest changing the {{User:MiszaBot/config}} parameter from |minthreadsleft = 4
to |minthreadsleft = 1
until those threads are archive, then switching it back to |minthreadsleft = 4

- Peaceray, they removed spam links. I would advise 750h+ however to use edit summaries more often. — 48JCL 22:39, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- I would have used {{Uw-delete1}}, but 750h+ is an experienced editor, so I let WP:DONTTEMPLATE prevail. However, that seems to be a mistake, as 750h+ continues to neglect the edit summary. I guess it is time for {{Uw-editsummary2}}. Peaceray (talk) 23:01, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Your edit at Ryan Sampson

[edit] Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Peaceray (talk) 23:02, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Congratulations! You work miracles! - Would you have time to look into a GAN soon, I mean yesterday? Jesu, der du meine Seele, BWV 78, as you may have seen if you follow may daily stories, had its 300th birthday last Sunday. Wikipedia, however, just counts calendar dates, and says it's 10 September. I expanded today, which is the last day for a DYK nomination for that day. It would be cute, - it's one of few Bach cantatas that never had a DYK. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:44, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! yes i can try to look at the GAN in the coming days 750h+ 23:10, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm now about where I wanted to be with the article. It's amazing music, hard to say in words, and help with polishing the English always welcome. Today's story has 3 composers, I couldn't decide for the one on the Main page or the one who didn't make it on his bicentenary, so took both, and the pic has a third. Listen if you have a bit of time. The music, played by the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra in Germany in April 2022 impressed me. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:26, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

Toyota Celica References
[edit]Hello 750h+, I have added some references for the Toyota Celica articles, recently for the 5th generation (GT-Four RC), and the 7th generation (Australian model). For years I have added and edited information on the Celica pages, and the sources are from the Celica catalogs from Japan and other countries, as well as my personal experience inspecting the actual cars in the USA, Japan, Australia, and few other countries. Please let me know which parts of the Celica article still need the reference. Celica21gtfour (talk) 07:27, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

You may remember Maryvonne Le Dizès, my story today as on 28 August. Some September music was unusual: last compositions and eternal light, with Ligeti mentioned in story and music. - one question is open above. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:27, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
today Rohan de Saram - unbelievable story --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:18, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving articles on October, as I noticed without looking it up! - I'll try to get to your FAC. - My story today is a cantata 300 years old, based on a hymn 200 years old when the cantata was composed, based on a psalm some thousand years old, - so said the 2015 DYK hook. I had forgotten the discussion on the talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:18, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

Biggie
[edit]Hi I was wondering if I could help clean up the rest of Biggie article. Check my sandbox, is that ok with you User:Cena332/sandbox Cena332 (talk) 15:00, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
If you want to modify any of my changes or add some of your back, you could do that after I add into the article since you can't edit users sandboxes. Cena332 (talk) 15:07, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- i don't see anything wrong with the current version of the article? also i'm really not okay with the current state of the sandbox since it's nearly completely reverting back to the way the article looked months ago, before i saved it at featured article review. also you removed a lot of the scholarly sourcing. i'd rather leave the article the way it is. 750h+ 16:27, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- I noticed the text is all clutter though in the current version of the article, the previous version seems to be written a bit better. Cena332 (talk) 16:30, 31 January 2025 (UTC)]
But if you're saying to leave it the way it is, that's fine with me, although some information you added is wrong though. Michael and Biggie did not collaborate in June 1995; that's when the song came out, and Biggie and Lil' Kim started a affair in 1993, long before Faith Evans. Cena332 (talk) 16:31, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- this version is by far better. the previous version (before it was saved) was poorly sourced, with a lot of short paragraphs. with your version, which mainly reverts back to the way the article used to look (i'm not saying it's terrible) we're quite literally removing a great amount of information that should have been in the article a long time ago, adding back poor sources (imdb, rockonthenet), adding back the short and stubby paragraphs, and reducing the reference count from 320 to 150. i'm happy with small edits but the current version is, by a long mile, superior. best, 750h+ 16:37, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- okay, i'm happy to look into the 'wrong' information but not so much with everything else. best, 750h+ 16:39, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
Ok that is fine, nice talking with you Cena332 (talk) 16:41, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
Please use edit summaries
[edit] Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! This isn't the first time you've been asked to use summaries. Is there a reason that you can't do so? -- mikeblas (talk) 14:37, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Approach
[edit]I hope you're doing well and were satisfied with my image review for Reynolds’s FAC. In recent days, I’ve noticed that several FAC nominations have been promoted in the past despite having few book sources. As you know, I’m still quite new to this and working towards my first FA. Your suggestions on my only nomination last summer were incredibly helpful, as were your comments on another GA article with a short lead, which has now been addressed. I appreciate that your time here is limited, but if you would be willing to mentor me, I would be truly grateful. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, MSincccc (talk) 18:22, 30 March 2025 (UTC)
- Please let me know your response whenever it is convenient for you. No rush. Best regards. MSincccc (talk) 08:00, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- May depend; do you have a specific article in mind? 750h+ 08:30, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- i could give the article a bit of a rewrite and help with the FAC, possibly soon. 750h+ 09:35, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have already rewritten the Public life and Public image sections for that reason. If you have any suggestions, feel free to share them on my talk page (or here). This is my draft of the article: User:MSincccc/sandbox.
- I need assistance with the sources. Can I proceed with a FAC nomination with the current number of book sources? I look forward to your response. Regards. MSincccc (talk) 10:34, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- i think you could definitely go along with the number of book sources (i'd hope you have access to all of them), though i might give the article a ce soon. 750h+ 09:46, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
DYK for SZA
[edit]On 31 March 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article SZA, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that singer-songwriter SZA was a hijabi as a child, but stopped wearing one due to Islamophobia after 9/11? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/SZA. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, SZA), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

GA review circle - pairing
[edit]Hi. I'm preparing to submit article Silent Parade into the GA review circle. This would be the 2nd attempt. I tried to do it a week ago in circle #31 Wikipedia_talk:Good_article_review_circles#Circle_#31. It was reviewed by user Chchcheckit. We had entirely different expectations regarding participation & communication, so I asked the reviewer to fail it, so I could get another reviewer. They then failed the review. I'm getting ready to put into review circle again, but I see that Chchcheckit has lots of activity there: they are in four consecutive circles 30, 31, 32, and upcoming 33 (the circle currently being assembled). No big deal, more GA articles is a good thing.
My plan is to submit Silent Parade for circle 34. If Chchcheckit is also in circle 34 (I don't know if they will be or not) could we avoid getting assigned to each other's article? Or, I could submit now for circle 33, if you prefer.
I apologize for bothering you with this ... I know you are busy, and this kind of drama is a distraction. Noleander (talk) 00:19, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- Noleander no problem! we can make that work, and I can assign you both different articles. 750h+ 00:54, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Today's main page has again memories of three people who died, for two just the name and for the third an image (great!) coupled with a little bit from her life which seems too little for my taste. Holden Commodore
[edit]Hi 750h+. I've not been able to schedule Holden Commodore for TFA this time round as it clashed with an article with a good claim to an 80th anniversary. I'll be closing the noms in a couple of days, but if you are set on the 16 July date, it would be worth adding it to the proposed list and then renominating next year. Alternatively I can add it to my next month's rota, which will be in October. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 05:00, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- @SchroCat: would july 13 be better instead? that's when the car started production (july 16 was the debut date). but if not we can do next year 750h+ 05:36, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Does it have to be on an anniversary? I'm not sure either of the dates are terribly strong ties and most TFAs are unconnected to the dates on which they are run. I could shuffle a few bits round to make it on the 13th if you really want, but it's a weak claim at best. - SchroCat (talk) 06:39, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

Aston Martin DB9, they've recently demonstrated their writing prowess also extends to very widely read biographies, including
The Notorious B.I.G. (saved at FAR) and
Robert Pattinson — both of which are Million Award–eligible! I hope you'll join me in recognizing a hardworking member of the Wikipedia community. This nomination was seconded by Flibirigit, Boneless Pizza!, UndercoverClassicist, Vacant0 and EF5

The Million Award |
For your contributions to bring Chris Pratt (estimated annual readership: 3,200,000) to featured article status, I hereby present you the Million Award. Congratulations on this rare accomplishment, and thanks for all you do for Wikipedia's readers! Reidgreg (talk) 21:32, 3 June 2025 (UTC) |
Beyonce
[edit]Hi. Regarding this edit "the only artist in history to debut all of her eight studio albums at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200". If i'm correct, i think Drake has also done it. So Beyonce is the first female to do it. Drake | Biography, Music & News | Billboard

I have Easter Oratorio on the main page, but of course told the story, which is admittedly complex, on Easter Sunday for the music's 300th anniversary. - Thank you for the GA review! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:23, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you today for Robert Pattinson, about "an actor who is well known for his looks and, despite playing the main character in one of the highest-grossing film series' of all time, has never won a major award"! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:43, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Stravinsky pictured on his birthday + Vienna pics - but too many who died + I have a "defiant" cantata up for GA --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:26, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

Ollie Watkins
[edit]I noticed you previously conducted a GA review for the Ollie Watkins article but your concerns went unaddressed by the proposer so you correctly rejected the nomination. Together with others, I have been working on your concerns and I believe they may have now been addressed, so I have recently nominated it for GA reassessment. I wonder whether you might be kind enoughy to take a quick look at the article and very kindly feedback any thoughts you might have about any remaining issues? Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide to me with this request. All the very best. 86.26.136.198 (talk) 18:42, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Revision change
[edit]What did I do wrong? BeyonceKnowlesFan123473 (talk) 06:34, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- it's not a free image and it was copy and pasted from Beyonce's official website. Also you aren't adhering to WP:NFCC#1: "Not replaceable with free media because..."; there are several free images of her. 750h+ 06:38, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- How do i successfully upload a non-free image to wikipedia BeyonceKnowlesFan123473 (talk) 07:05, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- you have to give good reason. you can't upload the Beyonce or Nicki Minaj images because there's already free images of those two. If the person was dead for example and there was no pictures at all of them that are free, adding a lower resolution picture that is non-free is fine. 750h+ 07:08, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

Beyonce genres
[edit]Hi....i've restored the country category on the Beyonce article (infobox). I think it would be odd not to have it considering she has won 2 Grammys in the country category, had a No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, a No.1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart, was the first female artist to occupy the top three positions simultaneously on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, won Favorite Country Album at the American Music Awards, won a country award at the Billboard Music Awards etc. Also CC/THE isn't her first foray into country music. She's done country before e.g. bluegrass-inspired version of "Irreplaceable" with Sugarland at the 2007 American Music Awards, Daddy Lessons (2016), performed at the CMAs, performed at the Houston Rodeo etc
Is she a country artist per se? no. But I think we need consistency across Wikipedia. So if featured articles like Swift & Gaga can mention e.g. folk/rock/Jazz genres (and neither are major artists in those categories) then i don't see why country category can't be included among Beyonce's genres...especially considering the amount of records she broke in that genre.
Many thanks Koppite1 (talk) 10:41, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

Connie Francis
[edit]Just to clarify, I’m not trying to start an edit war—I fully support the overall revision, especially the removal of “pop,” which strengthens the lead. My only concern was the full stop after “actress,” which felt unnecessary and disrupted the sentence’s flow. I’ve made a minor adjustment to improve cohesion. Thank you for your edits. Thank you for improving article quality in July! - Three Ukrainian topics were on the main page today, at least at the beginning, RD and DYK, - see my talk. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
Three of "my" recent deaths bios are on the main page right now, one my story today, Gary Karr, and I loved to find his breakthrough concert in 1962 as a video. In my music today I match it with 9 other double bassists, 7 conducted by a person who's birthday is today - coincidence ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:42, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
On Bach's day of death, I decorated my user pages in memory, with his music, and my story ends on "peace". - I have a FAC open for one of his cantatas, BWV 79, and GA noms for others, in case of interest in improving quality on the occasion. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:08, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Apologies -- I reverted your edit in error. You are correct that "one million" refers to total number of units sold, and the source confirms it. I've reworded both text mentions so they can't be confused with a dollar amount. Mason.Jones (talk) 23:08, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
