Calgary Highlanders
[edit]You really fucked up the page on the Highlanders by your revert, since there had been more edits to the page after the move, which you then zapped with a speedy delete. Any chance you will go back and fix what you've broken? The deleted page would need to be resurrected in order to capture the edits made in the interim. In particular the lineage chart is out of whack.
It's amazing how much useless bureaucracy has pervaded Wikipedia - I don't think the people who edit here as a lifestyle realize how much damage you do by turning people off of contributing. The edit history will show how long I spent sweating on getting the chart just right as I struggled to figure out the formatting (or would do if not for the speedy delete) - and now with a poorly thought out revert it's almost back to square one. Shit like this is exactly what turns people off of editing WP.Michael Dorosh (talk) 15:05, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- All of your interactions on Wikipedia must be civil. I don't appreciate you starting a conversation with
[y]ou really fucked up
. To use your own phrasing, you really "fucked up" in the first place by copying and pasting the article to another page rather than moving the article properly. There have been 575 edits to Calgary Highlanders over the years by dozens of contributors, and by copying and pasting the article you would have effectively erased the attribution to those editors. This is why there is a well established, easy to follow process for moving pages, in order to maintain attribution to all of the past contributors. Wikipedia are required under copyright law to properly attribute all of the contributors to its articles and the page move policy must be properly followed at all times. - I am sorry that you have lost some of your work, and I appreciate how long it can take working to get formatting just right, but it is also not my fault that I followed policy and applied a CSD6 tag after noticing an improper copy-and-paste move.
- I did not delete the page Calgary Highlanders (10th Canadians). This was done by The JPS. They may be able to assist you with recovering the deleted edits - I cannot as I am not an administrator - but I recommend reaching out to them with far more civility than you did here if you expect assistance. Question from Resu12346763 (01:06, 30 April 2025)
[edit]Hello, how do I change my username? --Resu12346763 (talk) 01:06, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Resu12346763, you can find information on how to change your username at Wikipedia:Changing username. If your username change request is simple, you can make the request at Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Adam Black talk • contribs 15:09, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]How can I edit sir --Asutoshken (talk) 08:23, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- You can edit a page by clicking the "Edit" button. Depending on the skin you are using, this button may be at the top of the page underneath the title, in the sidebar, or in a dropdown menu under the "Page" option. For more information, please see Help:Editing. Adam Black talk • contribs 12:38, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Dahlia du Vide (14:11, 3 May 2025)
[edit]I made my account to correct & expand this article. I have an additional secondary source and several primary sources. What guides should I refer to make sure it meets wikipedia standards? --Dahlia du Vide (talk) 14:11, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- This article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_Ellen_Smith Dahlia du Vide (talk) 14:12, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Please refer to our verifiability policy, reliable sources policy, and no original research policy for information on which sources meet Wikipedia's criteria. You can post at the reliable sources noticeboard, or on the talk page of the article for help with determining whether a source is reliable, or you can link to them here on my talk page and I will take a look for you. Please note, primary sources are not generally considered reliable and should be avoided. Adam Black talk • contribs 12:52, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Even stuff like census records and death certificates? Dahlia du Vide (talk) 14:24, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Such documents can be used as citations for statements of fact only. For example, a death certificate can be used as a source for a person's date of death, place of death, or cause of death, although if any of these details are disputed by a reliable secondary source, the secondary source should take precedence. Birth, marriage, death and census records should not be used to derive any information other than the facts presented on them - e.g. the death certificate of Mary Mallon could be used to verify that her place of death was Riverside Hospital, North Brother Island, New York, but not to verify that she was being forcibly held in quarantine at the time. Question from Aygul Hatun (15:50, 4 May 2025)
[edit]I want to edit a title, how can i do that? --Aygul Hatun (talk) 15:50, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I assume you mean you want to edit the title of an article. Before doing so, please refer to Wikipedia's policy on article titles. You can rename an article yourself by moving it, see Wikipedia's policy on moving articles, but you will need to be autoconfirmed - this means you will need to have been an editor for four days and made at least ten edits on Wikipedia. See Help:How to move a page for more information on moving pages once you meet this criteria.
- If you would like to share a link to the article you would like to rename, I will take a look and move it if your request is within Wikipedia policies and conventions. Adam Black talk • contribs 16:01, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Luhjames on User:Luhjames (15:13, 6 May 2025)
[edit]How do I add a title to my page --Luhjames (talk) 15:13, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have taken a look at your userpage and it appears you are working on a draft. Your userpage should not contain encyclopaedic content. I have moved your draft to User:Luhjames/Grape Mafia Family, a subpage of your user space. You should now see a more relevant title at the top of that page. Once you have finished writing the article, you can move it to the main article space under an appropriate title, but as a new user I would recommend having the article evaluated by an experienced user before doing so. how do I edit information in a wikipedia article? --NokhoN (talk) 15:20, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- You should see an "Edit" button at the top of every page. If you are having trouble finding the page, you can go to the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=PAGETITLE&action=edit, changing PAGETITLE to the title of the article you would like to edit. Question from Akivahammondmusic (19:39, 6 May 2025)
[edit]Hi, how can i create a wikipedia page about myself. I am a musical artist --Akivahammondmusic (talk) 19:39, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- You are strongly advised not to create or contribute towards a Wikipedia article about yourself. Please see the policy pages on autobiographies and conflicts of interest. I would recommend that you request an article be created about you instead. Adam Black talk • contribs 20:22, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
I am trying to write an article on a particular topic, on an incident that I think definitely warrants its own Wikipedia page --Mvasha334 (talk) 21:49, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Please refer to Wikipedia's notability policy to ensure that the incident meets our inclusion criteria. If after reading this policy you are sure that the incident should have its own article, you can start an article for it through articles for creation. Adam Black talk • contribs 09:09, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

- Yes, you may. If you have any links to coverage in reliable sources, that would be helpful. Adam Black talk • contribs 22:17, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

With regards to my talk pagw
[edit]Am I not supposed to blank my talk page? And I have started discussions on the other editors talk pages. By reverting my edit you have removed additional (sourced) information and images. I have explained multiple times why I removed some of the content of the amda siyon page, mainly that it's written using weasel words and the source does not align with what was written in the entry 2601:280:CE82:7070:9827:A94C:9AF4:9CA7 (talk) 22:35, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
