Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

I've been here for almost two decades, with 30k+ edits and a fair number of articles created in the mean time. I believe I am well-qualified for autopatrolled perms. _dk (talk) 23:50, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Done asilvering (talk) 17:19, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Based upon my learning and experience over the years of editing on Wikipedia (almost a decade now), I have created very selected pages which I find qualifying Wikipedia policies. If I find them trending in news but un-complying with the policies, I usually leave a redirect, or occasionally start with the draft. I believe not a single page that I created and/or majorly contributed has been deleted, and many respected editors and admins whom I had interacted with have always been helpful and supportive, believing in my good faith. Plus I only rewrite those articles in bad state which I find relevant, and not every other random article. However, due to recent attacks by sock puppetry over my edits, I want to be an autopatrolled user, so that I can easily continue volunteering independently here, and participate in the ongoing Destubathon as well. I promise I will not misuse this position. Thank you! M. Billoo 13:24, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

Requested this permission ~2 months ago, denied because I was mostly creating auto-notable stubs. I think I have expanded the types of articles I create, including well-sourced local pages or biographical entries where I take time to source subjects that do not inherently meet a generic notability criteria. (I still do create auto-notable pages sometimes, but those no longer make up the majority of pages I create.) As a new page reviewer, I got good experience with the notability guidelines reviewing articles during the backlog drive WP:MAY25, and also participating in AfD. Thought about requesting again as I have run into a few of my own pages while reviewing pages that are in topics I contribute to/am interested in. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 02:15, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Also wanted to mention that if I am unsure of a subject's notability, I will utilize WP:AFC for my own articles occasionally Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 02:18, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Ctxz2323 has created nearly 170 articles, none of which were deleted. All the ones I've checked are very solid and well-sourced. Toadspike [Talk] 15:31, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

The copyright note from Diannaa from less than a year ago on their talk page makes me a bit nervous. How exhaustive were those source checks? Translationvio in particular tends to be easy to miss if you're not really intentionally looking. -- asilvering (talk) 17:27, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

Requests for AutoWikiBrowser access

AutoWikiBrowser

I'm back again! I previously requested this to help with WP:POSTMOVE for links to Guna language (then withdrew that request), but since then I've realised there are a few areas I could use this tool in, not least for updating non-linked uses of "Kuna" and "Cuna" for Guna language and Guna people (of which there seem to be quite a lot). I might also use it for linking/redlinking new articles (for instance, some of the drafts I'm currently working on), and also to help out with updating some of the 90,000+ articles transcluding (the now-deprecated) Template:EngvarB to other English-variety templates. Obviously there might also be some typo correction etc. as required. Pineapple Storage (talk) 17:03, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Do you have any lists of what all articles you would link to Guna people? CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 18:37, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
Well to be honest, that's part of what AWB would be useful for... The Kuwait News Agency is also known as KUNA, and until 2023 the currency of Croatia was the Croatian kuna, so there are currently 2,372 articles with that term; filtering out "croatia" and "kuna.net.kw" gets this down to 925 articles, and using regex /Kuna / (with the space) reduces it to 401 articles. Beyond that I don't know of a way to filter out the ones that aren't references to Guna language or Guna people without manually going through all (or at least most) of them. Similarly, wikt:cuna is a word in quite a few languages, so there are also 1,069 articles containing it. Regex /Cuna / and filtering out "Tristan da" gets this down to 453 articles, but I think that's the best I can do! Pineapple Storage (talk) 09:21, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Yeah, that is what I wanted to see. I have no issues with you linking non-linked uses of "Kuna", "Cuna", "Guna" but you have to be really very careful because these simple words can have lots of totally unrelated meanings, even those that may not be attested by Wikipedia or Wiktionary. Also, while linking them, you should be mindful of MOS:OVERLINK. (Non-administrator comment) All the best, CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 10:47, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
For sure, I'm definitely aware of OVERLINK and I wasn't planning to link every mention, I'm just looking to introduce some consistency across linked and non-linked mentions across en-wp following the RM at Guna language. And yep, obviously context is key when determining whether the 'Kuna' or 'Cuna' in question is actually related to the Guna language and people, or whether it's another unrelated usage; the time that identifying this context will take is one of the main reasons why it's such a time-consuming task! 🥲 Pineapple Storage (talk) 12:29, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Request AWB permissions to assist with several cleanup tasks across my WikiProjects of interests such as Women in Red, India, Computational Biology, and others. Types of cleanups often include fixing typos, especially for WP:INDIA where {{tl:Use Indian english}} is often used but content may not reflect that, or vice-versa. Other general cleanups that I do include fixing line or paragraph breaks, infobox lists, or basic copyediting. I believe I used to have AWB access years ago, but it expired due to inactivity. I intend to use the JS interface of AWS. Thanks!— WeWake (talk) 06:37, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

m:Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos is restricted to extended confirmed users by Special:AbuseFilter/1258. That said,  Not done, since there's a reason for that rule -- inexperienced users (including your past self, although you're nowhere near as bad as some others were) have gotten into trouble for making inappropriate image additions as part of the contest. Why on earth do you expect us to circumvent our standard procedures to allow you to participate in something that you're not entitled to participate in, and where careless participation has caused much harm in the past, when you can't even be bothered to do your share of what is expected by making 30 edits elsewhere first to qualify via the normal process and couldn't even follow the correct procedures for asking for permissions? I am also familiar with English Wikipedia's guidelines and have been actively participating here, including contributing to article creation and quality control processes. I would like to contribute to New Page Patrol, mainly on topics related to Israel, Judaism, and Hungary, and I would be happy to expand my knowledge and activity into additional areas. Eliezer1987 (talk) 16:58, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

Not done, I'm not comfortable at this time giving you the NPP userright. Typically, on enwiki we do not consider cross-wiki experience especially in the context of en-wiki-specific-content heavy permission like NPP. The fact that you want to work on the currently "unstable" area of WP:PIA coupled with your lack of AFD participation and the fact that relatively recently created articles like Rafael Hayun use unreliable sources like Tiktok make this a no for now. I was granted reviewer rights for two times, both were temporary. I'm here requesting the right again to review the articles and make the burden less for others too. Requests for rollback

Rollback

I’m a very active recent changes patroller, very comfortable identifying vandalism and using WP:TW to revert, warn, and report vandals. I’m careful to avoid using immediate revert unless the edit is obviously vandalism. Rollback would allow me to more efficiently fight very active vandals before an administrator is able to block them. I would still use WP:TW in most cases, for routine recent changes patrol. I’ve been using Twinkle to revert vandalism from recent changes and warn users for a while now. I’ve been doing this for about two years, with some breaks because of school and life, but I’ve stayed consistent overall. I know what counts as vandalism and what doesn’t, and I always try to assume good faith. I’d really appreciate rollback to help make reverting quicker and save time. I can be trusted with the tool and use it properly. Thank you, ItsCheck (talk) 01:05, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi I am requesting rights to use the rollback feature as finding vandalism has actually been a very cool thing for me. I am requesting to be able so I don't have to undo multiple edits by spam-vandals, as I feel like it makes me kind of a spammer when I do this, and doing it all at once would be a great thing. I will admit that I had absolutely no idea that anyone could post warnings on talk pages, I thought that only admins and other experienced members who are given rights could do so. I just want to feel like less of a spammer when reverted edits, so I am requesting this rollback feature. Thanks, MakaylaHippo1998 MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 05:55, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Not done Stop WP:Hat collecting. This request says nothing that the previous requests didn't say before. And while you have now mostly started warning other editors, here's another morsel to consider: only a week ago you said modifications are coming in with blazing speed almost every milli-second, which is both not true (the average edit rate is around 2 edits per second, or one per 500 milliseconds), and evinces an attitude incompatible with rollback access; it's more important to be correct in what you are reverting, and to take those few seconds to think, than to race to the bottom trying to revert edits as fast as possible. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:51, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
