Murillo de Aragão Article

Hello KylieTastic,

Thank you for editing my draft about Murillo de Aragão. I appreciate your guidance and want to ensure the draft meets Wikipedia’s criteria.

To improve the article, I’d like to ask for your advice on the following:

- Are there any specific issues with the existing references that I should address?

Your insights would be incredibly helpful as I work on revising the draft. Thank you for your time and assistance! Bruno Furtado Vieira (talk) 15:11, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi Bruno Furtado Vieira, happy to help with the basic formatting of Draft:Murillo de Aragão as it makes it easier to review for the reviewer. I didn't review the sources myself as it;s not really my area of interest, but what you need to keep in mind is that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). I see a number of claims, but nothing that indicates notability in themselves so it depends on if you have, or can find, 3+ independent reliable sources that do talk about him in detail. Hi Jonatanirvin, I see there is an odd bug that once the copyright was cleaned up it did not show the re-submit button. I have added a template so you can submit again if you want. KylieTastic (talk) 21:42, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Bilal Moumen

You have edited the page, can’t you see that you’re mixing up all the information between the two homonyms? It’s frustrating to see how poorly information is managed on Wikipedia. 2A02:21B4:3E5D:B100:C8AC:C076:99DE:2706 (talk) 23:16, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

You attempted to change Bilal Moumen to a completely different person Bilal Moumen is an Algerian born 1990, Billel Moumen is a French player born 1996. KylieTastic (talk) 23:21, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic,

Thank you for your help reviewing our draft. What would you suggest in order to get the page published? We followed the Wikipedia guidelines closely we hope. Perhaps you could have a go drafting it?

Many thanks in advance,

Submission Guidelines

Hi Kylietastic! Thank you so much for reviewing my article draft for Edgeline Productions! I'm curious to better understand the submission criteria and what I can do to improve the draft? I am curious to know what else I need to fulfill the requirements as follows:

Thank you so much again, and have a great rest of your week! HarlanFR (talk) 18:52, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi, when I reviewed you had just the companies website and five IMDB links as sources - so zero independent reliable sources. I see you have updated and submitted so it is just waiting for a reviewer to pick it up. What you are most looking for is 3+ independent reliable sources that have signification coverage of the subject. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:03, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

Approval pending for more than 2 months

I have resubmitted a draft after being rejected first time. I have added more citations to support my article. It was submitted back in Nov. Till now its showing Pending approval.

Could you please have a look at it?

ThePassionist (talk) 11:44, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi ThePassionist, unfortunately we get hundreds of submission a day and do not have enough volunteer reviewers so there is always a backlog, so it's just a case of being patient. You can look at Category:AfC pending submissions by age and see while yours is in the 7 weeks category, there are 170+ in the 8 weeks and 2 months+ waiting. Sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request. You got my original decline quickly because I focus on trying to make sure 0 day submissions to not have to wait 2 months for basic problems. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 12:20, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir

Hello Kylie, Do you have any additional questions regarding the verification or notability of Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir? Most of the information in Canada is publicly available. For details related to Bangladesh, you may need to conduct a more focused search as they date back a few years. However, following his activities should provide access to more public information. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. Best regards, Farzana Farzana.1970 (talk) 22:00, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

@Farzana.1970, I see you have added some sources since I reviewed it the first time, but have not re-submitted for review. However a quick look it appears most claims are still unsourced and notability has not been demonstrated. Note that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 22:36, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello Kylie,
I’ve clicked on resubmission now. Thank you for your guidance!
I cited newspapers of Canada and Bangladesh, public sites, including local government (like City of Richmond, Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) involvement. Rotary International must be globally accepted source as Chamber of Commerce pages. If there are still areas where notability or sourcing need improvement, I would be happy to address those further. Please let me know if there are any specific claims or sections you feel require additional work or stronger references.
Thanks again for your support!
Best regards,

Hey.

A few days ago you declined my Draft:Ernest of Wurttemberg page. Can you recheck it, I resubmitted my page and I think it's ready to be published. HenrytheCottonman (talk) 23:38, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

HenrytheCottonman, sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. I have checked Draft:Ernest of Wurttemberg is submitted so it will be picked up by someone. Do note that Find a Grave is not a reliable source as it is user generated - see WP:RSPFINDAGRAVE. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:03, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Goodbye Mommy (2024)

Hello! Thank you so much for reviewing my draft so quickly. I understand that it was declined due to lack of information. Could you please help me understand what information I need to add to the page so that it gets published? I have over 100 independent machinimas on my list that I want to contribute. It would be great to know what info I need to add to the articles before I start creating them all. Thanks so much in advance! Krystalrobin (talk) 19:18, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi Krystalrobin, while there are lots of policies and guidelines a key one is WP:Notabilty. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). There are also some specific guidelines to assist such in this case Wikipedia:Notability (films). You have a single source that is just the YouTube video, so no independent reliable sources at all. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:24, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
Oh, I get it. I just have to add articles about the machinimas, and movie databases other than imdb. Thank you so much for your time and help. Most appreciated. Krystalrobin (talk) 19:31, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Draft:SearchUnify

Hello KylieTastic,

Thank you for reviewing my draft, [Draft:SearchUnify], and for your helpful feedback regarding the need for more reliable, independent, and in-depth sources. I appreciate your guidance and want to ensure the draft meets Wikipedia’s notability criteria.

To improve the article, I’d like to ask for your advice on the following:

- Are there any specific issues with the existing references that I should address (e.g., reliability, depth, or independence)?

- What types of sources or examples would best establish the subject’s notability in this case?

Your insights would be incredibly helpful as I work on revising the draft. Thank you for your time and assistance!

Best regards, NitulSharma10 (talk) 14:15, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi NitulSharma10, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Your fist source does not appear to mention the subject, the second and third are basic listing for awards that are also just one in many. The stevie awards look more like PR and I note Stevie Awards was deleted last year as not notable. Further to showing notability the rest of the content also needs to be sourced, most isn't. The content needs to match the sources not editorialise: for instance your article says "SearchUnifyGPT received a silver Stevie® award for technology excellence in the 2024 Stevie® Awards" but the source says Accela won a Gold award for "Best Use of Technology in Customer Service" using SearchUnify, and the source has no other hits for SearchUnify or "technology excellence". Lastly it does not read like an encyclopedic article but company marketing (brief history, product list and look we got some awards), which is not surprising as you have declared a COI. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:02, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
@KylieTastic, Thank you for your detailed feedback on the draft. I now better understand the issues regarding notability, sourcing, and tone. I will work on replacing weak sources with independent, in-depth, and reliable references and revising the content to align with Wikipedia’s neutrality and encyclopedic standards.
If I have further questions while revising, I hope it’s okay to reach out again. Your guidance has been very helpful!

Draft:Aggression and lust

Hey Kylie; I saw you just rejected this draft. If you want to give the submitter a bit more guidance, I've been talking to them for a while. My talk page has more background. The editor is totally new. Cheers Utopes (talk / cont) 09:16, 3 February 2025 (UTC) The Freudian Pulse: Eros, Thanatos, and the Human Paradox

@Utopes, I did see and frankly I've confused to why you did not point out to them that Wikipedia is not for publishing personal thoughts rather than moving the 'article' and talking about how to submit. KylieTastic (talk) 09:30, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Freud’s Eros (life drive) and Thanatos (death drive) map cleanly onto your framework: Lust = Eros: The urge to create, connect, and sustain life (e.g., art, romance, innovation).

Aggression = Thanatos: The urge to dominate, destroy, or return to inertness (e.g., war, exploitation, self-sabotage).

Modern studies confirm this duality. For example: -Attachment Theory: Romantic relationships oscillate between anxious lust (clinging) and avoidant aggression (emotional withdrawal).

-Neurochemistry: Dopamine fuels lust’s chase; cortisol spikes during aggression. Both hijack the brain’s reward system.

-War Psychology: Soldiers often eroticize violence (e.g., WWII letters conflating “conquering” enemies and women).

Yet Freud’s model fails to explain why humans “pervert” these drives. Bees don’t pollinate for profit; lions don’t hunt for sport. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muhammed Ali Rahbari (talkcontribs) 09:29, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

@Muhammed Ali Rahbari, that is not a question and please do not use my talk page for your thoughts. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of notable subjects (see Wikipedia:Notability) based on reliable sources (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources). Personal essays on your own thought like Draft:Aggression and lust are not what Wikipedia is for. There are other platforms for publishing your own ideas. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:34, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Feedback?

Thanks for reviewing my draft page about the Willis Prize -- it's a brand-new prize with one only public announcement made so far (Yale Library announces new literary prize for American poetry | Yale Library: https://library.yale.edu/news/yale-library-announces-new-literary-prize-american-poetry). Is this insufficient to support the page? Would you suggest resubmitting the page at a future time, after its drawn more attention? I appreciate your feedback! YCAL-JWJ YCAL-JWJ (talk) 21:13, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi YCAL-JWJ, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So yes new subjects need to just wait until such independent sources exist. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 22:06, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi

You recently reviewed my draft, draft:Ouchtata, it is very similar o the pages about her the other comments of Tunisia, I was wondering why you rejected it and how it can be I.proved fir acception. Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 08:08, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi, Cactusisme, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You have a single source that does not even mention the subject. Also if WP:Other Stuff Exists of the same quality then it just means they need either to be improved or deleted. Lots of articles were created a long time before the current policies and guidelines and are slowly being addressed. However, per Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features) if this is a populated, legally recognized place it would be deemed notable. But you need a reliable source that shows it is a one. Chemintro by Pliad

References to legislation are plentiful and have meaning in the article just declined. The software was written to swallow the legislation and accompanying regulations. The article is only of interest to people wishing to import chemicals (including chemicals in products) into Australia and people in Australia manufacturing products containing chemicals. But it is important to all those people.

So apart from individual references to various parts of the law/regs I am not sure Which other refs may be useful. I have already declared a conflict of interest since I wrote the software and that should be at least a pseudo reference.

Love your work!

Cheers Pliad (talk) 04:22, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi Pliad, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). It does not mean a subject that does not have those sources is not important to the people who need it, but if such sources do not exist it does not qualify for a Wikipedia article, by the current policies. Would Royal Pedia be a reliable source for a Draft page? HenrytheCottonman (talk) 15:07, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Sources... Again

I'm trying to make a Draft page for a Prince of Hesse-Homburg, I have a good source referenced in his father's page. But when I paste the source into my draft; It shows a book that I'm not positive is the source. Draft:Frederick of Hesse-Homburg (1830-1848) is the page I'm making, and the source is on Gustav, Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg's page it's the 5th reference. All help will be useful! Thanks, Cotton HenrytheCottonman (talk) 15:30, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

@HenrytheCottonman, the 5th source is Princesses which would appear to be https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/Princesses/UFwTAQAAIAAJ so you can use the following just add a page number:
<ref>{{cite book |last1=Fraser |first1=Flora |title=Princesses: The Six Daughters of George III |date=2005 |publisher=Knopf |isbn=978-0-679-45118-1 |url=https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/Princesses/UFwTAQAAIAAJ |language=en|page=}}</ref>

Hamm (Toy Story)

can I add as much information as I can. Draft:Hamm (Toy Story) and undraft it if it is good. Ethan169 (talk) 15:58, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi Ethan169, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So yes if you add sourced information and there are enough independent reliable sources to show the subject is notable then it would be accepted. I'm not familiar enough with the subject to guess if they are notable enough enough. I recommend starting with looking for 3+ good sources and build from that foundation. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:48, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
I'm going to add as much information as I can. When I'm finished can I request you to undraft it? I really like hamm yo have his own page Ethan169 (talk) 16:31, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
Once you are done just resubmit. KylieTastic (talk) 17:40, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

One Problem Please help

Before I resubmit I just need you to add a image of hamm then you should sumiy as as a normal page thanks Ethan169 (talk) 19:14, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

An image would be copyrighted so only would be allowed under free use (the same as File:Sheriff Woody.png is for example), and non-free images cannot by used in drafts. Draft:Hamm (Toy Story) still has no sources at all, let alone 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage to show notability. KylieTastic (talk) 19:42, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
Please tell me what i need to add before i resumit it? Ethan169 (talk) 19:54, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
As I have said twice now, you need to have sources/references you have none. See Help:Referencing for beginners. KylieTastic (talk) 19:58, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

Nasmak draft

You removed a link to peel.fandom.com, but this is the only dadabase of John Peel shows, a valid source CyrielThomas (talk) 18:47, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

@CyrielThomas it is not a valid source as it is user-generated per WP:FANDOM. It was written by a single person with no source other than discogs. KylieTastic (talk) 18:49, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
That is not correct look here https://peel.fandom.com/wiki/BBC_Archives CyrielThomas (talk) 18:58, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
@CyrielThomas not sure what yet another fandom page has to do with anything? If any related fandom articles have reliable sources use them otherwise it is just something someone posted on the internet. Wikipedia does not use any user-generated sources including Wikipedia itself. KylieTastic (talk) 19:07, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
the link you removed is reliable, its all connected with https://peel.fandom.com/wiki/BBC_Archives, klick on the links.
Only the chapter extral links are not the sources, only to other Nasmak info. CyrielThomas (talk) 19:39, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
Look also here: the complete database/list of bands on the John Peel show with al Nasmak-link https://peel.fandom.com/wiki/User:Johnpeel3904#Artists_Articles_Created CyrielThomas (talk) 19:50, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
@CyrielThomas all your showing is people write stuff on fandom, even it the writer claims to be John Peel themselves. It is still never a valid source here. KylieTastic (talk) 19:54, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
Writer claims to be? Read the intoduction:
'John Robert Parker Ravenscroft, OBE (30 August, 1939 – 25 October 2004), known professionally as John Peel.' 'The wiki full of information about and around John Peel, the legendary DJ.' https://peel.fandom.com/wiki/BBC_Archives
What do you want more? Listen to all the sessions if its correct, exta link to this as a soucre?
https://archive.org/details/john-peel-perfumed-garden-19670807-r-london CyrielThomas (talk) 20:49, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
@CyrielThomas exactly the great John Peel died in 2004 yet the writer pages says "Johnpeel3904 aka John Peel" so clearly NOT aka John Peel. This is not a difficult concept - fandom like all wikis is user-generated and not a reliable source. Although audio/video sources are not every user friendly if you include a timestamp to the relevant archived recording it would be a valid source for the claim given (aka: "John Peel declared the debut to be the best album from the European continent in years") KylieTastic (talk) 21:01, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
There's now an extra link to were you can listen the peel sessions. CyrielThomas (talk) 21:54, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Polling in Scotland

Thank you for reviewing this draft. However the reason for refusal has left me somewhat flummoxed. 1 The layout and references/citations and hyperlinks are consistent with other articles on polling in the UK 2 I fully accept the requirement for information from reliable sources that allow the reader to check information for themselves. My article is literally stuffed with such links, for example the core of the article is the table with the polling data each of which has a link to the Polling companies data tables, every mention of a constituency has a link to the article on that constituency, the same applies to any mention of a political party. 3 The short preamble has some 6 links to further information

I appreciate there is not one 'reference' in the article, however I can rectify this by changing each of the links to references I would argue that this while making it compliant re references would produce a far less user friendly experience, whereas at present they get either a thumbnail popup that could be clicked into for further information or in the case of the core data direct to Polling companies data tables

I am now uncertain as to how to go forward with this Pugpa2 (talk) 05:43, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi Pugpa2, when I reviewed you just had the source links in the polls section and nothing for the lead or target seats sections. The lead section makes a number of claims that need references. Also it was unclear what the subject was as "Polling in Scotland" sounds general as does the start "...polling in Scotland often have a different dynamic to the rest of the UK", but then the polls given are just since the last general election. You should make it clear if this is about the subject in general over time or specific to the next election, or I guess the lead can be general but the polling section clearer that that section is just focused on the next election. I see you have already started to address things and have added sources to the lead. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:07, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback, most helpful, it is certainly an interesting learning process
I will address the title first as it seems to have gotten truncated somewhere along the way, it should read "Polling in Scotland for next UK General Election" as per the short title.
Again many thanks Pugpa2 (talk) 10:27, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

still learning

I am extremely baffled by your decision to decline my submission. So, me and a friend are working on a draft article about the livestreamed suicide of Gleb Korablev, a Russian MSU student who died October 17th, 2019. I do not know how to add links. You're telling me you allow articles of other filmed suicides, like Ronnie McNutt, Christine Chubbuck, Abraham Biggs, and Kevin Whitrick, but not Gleb Korablev? I'm using a PlayStation to create this article, so I don't know how to add links. Please acknowledge this. NotKosaika (talk) 16:50, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

@NotKosaika, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You have two sources, and one is a dead link. Not only do you need enough sources to show notability not also you need sources for all the key claims. Just to take your first example Suicide of Ronnie McNutt it has 26 sources. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:15, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

AJ Fantin

Hello this is AJ Fantin. I am typing on Rew256's account (we know each other personally). I accidentally submitted my sandbox user page. Would you be able to delete it please? Thank you. Rew256 (talk) 19:37, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

@Rew256 / @AJ_Fantin you should not be using other people accounts - but add {{db-author}} to ask for deletion. KylieTastic (talk) 19:43, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
He didn't know how to even get onto this page; he is VERY new to Wikipedia. Rew256 (talk) 21:02, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
Sorry to keep asking for help with the deletion process but how do I update the draft without attempting to publish it Rew256 (talk) 22:13, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
@Rew256 I see you use the visual editor so I;m not sure of the terminology, but you can just edit/publish those changes in the normal way. Just if its a draft don't use the "Submit" or "Resubmit" buttons. Basically 'publishing' is just saving an edit, be that on an article or a draft or talk page, but 'submitting' is sending a draft etc for approval. Hope that helps. KylieTastic (talk) 22:35, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

Please go through with the draft page

Please go through it again. Because now it is backed by valid and independent sources.

Sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Invitation to participate in research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of a group of Wikipedians to better understand their experiences! We are also looking to interview some survey respondents in more detail, and you will be eligible to receive a thank-you gift for the completion of an interview. The outcomes of this research will shape future work designed to improve on-wiki experiences.

We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this survey, which shouldn’t take more than 2-3 minutes. You may view its privacy statement here. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Kind regards, Sam Walton (talk) 16:34, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hello Kylie,

Hope you are doing great.

Could you please allow me access to my Wikipedia account Maurya Amol. I have made some significant changes in Gränna town in Sweden. I am business management student living in Gränna and I must submit my Wikipedia Edit along with my user name as a part of university project.

Apologies for your inconvenience and looking forward for your prompt support.

Best regards,

Amol Maurya. Maurya Amol (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

@Maurya Amol you have access to your account as has been shown by you posting this. You have no blocks on your account here. User:Maurya Amol was deleted because editors are restricted to what can go on user pages (See Wikipedia:User pages). I am not an admin so cannot see the content anymore and I do not remember it. If it had been possibly valid as an article it would have been moved to the Draft: space, but as it was deleted by admin Jimfbleak they clearly agreed that it was not valid content for a user-page or a possible draft. AfC review acceptance rate

Hi Kylie, hope you're enjoying your break. When you get a moment, can you remind me what the typical AfC review accept/decline rate is? I know you've told me before, and I feel reasonably certain that the number is something like 2/3 submissions are declined, but I have no context memory for that and don't know if I'm just making it up. It's possible that figure is the average delete rate at AfD or something and I've got wires crossed. -- asilvering (talk) 03:15, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi Asilvering, 20% accept is the rate I look for overall (not individually or including speedy deleted submissions). It fluctuates a lot for various reasons but I feel if it's about that it's OK. If I remember correctly during a backlog drive it goes higher, as the older backlog has already had much of the junk removed. 25% would be the max i would expect and above that I would be looking for reasons. I've just run last month/31 days summary and it is at 12.2% which is very low. Looks like we may have some bad declining, but also if there is some sort of event we can get hit with a bunch of junk that drives it down. But 12% for a month does not look good to me. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:28, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Uh oh. Well, the backlog has been rising, so my hope is the higher decline rate is a function of reviewers aiming for the lowest-hanging fruit, as a reverse of the usual backlog drive effect... -- asilvering (talk) 15:01, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Melissa Di Donato tweak

Hi, I work for a PR consultancy called Kekst CNC, working on behalf of Kyriba. We’re engaging as a member of the Wikipedia community having signed the official agency/Wikipedia agreement set out here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Statement_on_Wikipedia_from_participating_communications_firms). This means that we follow guidelines, most importantly that we understand that we have a COI, which means that we let members of the Wikipedia community decide (or not decide) to make changes for us.

We have noticed recent changes to Melissa Di Donato’s profile and wish to flag that the claim she bypassed deal controls at SUSE is not accurate, nor is it confirmed in the source listed. We have included a more detailed explanation below as well as a suggested factual replacement. Please could you review our proposed update and potentially update on the article for us? Thanks.

1. The current passage claims that:

“Di Donato decided to step down as CEO of SUSE after she had bypassed the company's controls regarding a $1.4 million deal.”

This assertion cites a Reuters article (https://www.reuters.com/technology/how-suse-deviated-its-internal-controls-while-warning-about-sales-risk-2023-11-30). However, that same article explicitly states that:

“Reuters could not determine whether the deal was vetted by the deal desk or how many deals have gone through the unit.”

The Reuters article does not confirm that Di Donato bypassed controls, subsequently including this in her profile misrepresents the source.

2. Suggested factual replacement, with sources:

"In July 2019, Melissa Di Donato was appointed CEO of SUSE, becoming the first woman to lead the company[1]. Under her leadership, SUSE completed its initial public offering on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in May 2021, becoming one of Europe’s largest publicly traded open-source software companies[2]. In March 2023, SUSE announced that Di Donato would be stepping down from her role as CEO. During her tenure, SUSE experienced a 60% revenue growth and made strategic acquisitions to strengthen its position in the container management and security markets[3]."

MichaelPWhite (talk) 16:42, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi MichaelPWhite, I assume you picked me as the last editor of Melissa Di Donato, but I was just reverting vandalism. It would be more appropriate to add requests to the article talk page and add a {{Edit COI/request}} template, and if not picked up ask at the Wikipedia:Help desk or the Wikipedia:Teahouse.
I am also as per the message at the top on a break and I do not generally avoid WP:BLPs. You also appear to have misread the source as it does say "Di Donato greenlighted the commercial terms of a roughly $1.4 million sale to South African utility Eskom in late January, bypassing the deal desk's scrutiny in order to speed the process, less than two weeks after SUSE told investors the desk would help to improve controls" your quote was about the BNY Mellon deal not the Eskom deal. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:41, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick response, especially as I appreciate you're having a break. We'll submit a request on the article's Talk page. However, we wish to flag that Reuters confirms in the article on Eskom that it "... couldn't confirm if this was done" and more. So unfortunately we're finding this is a baseless accusation that is being repeated based on the Wikipedia page and looking for some quick help please. A kitten for you!

Hiii thanks for leaving the message on my draft!

Some Questions I've Always Had

Hi Kylie, I hope you are well and that you are enjoying your rest. You had previously received my draft from Chivin, and you mentioned something about dating, and I wanted to ask you specifically what I need to do? Since I don't have much experience creating quotes and structuring them, I hope to explain myself well. Thank you. Usuario Anónimo 9138478dg (talk) 21:31, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi Usuario Anónimo 9138478dg, your draft Draft:Chivin was deleted yesterday after you posted this as promotional and I posted nothing on your talk page so I have no idea what dating you mean. See Help:Your first article and ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse any questions you have about specifics. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:40, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Ernest of Wurttemburg

Hello, a few months ago you declined my draft and I resubmitted it in late January, I think. It's been three months now, can you look at it? Thanks, Cotton HenrytheCottonman (talk) 12:18, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi HenrytheCottonman, I'm not very active here at the moment as I'm dealing with multiple things in the real world. Unfortunately the AfC draft review process is usually back-logged due to large amounts of submitters and few volunteer reviewers. All you can do is be patient, but adding more substantial sources can also help if people are not reviewing it as they see it as unclear notability. You could try asking at the Wikipedia:Teahouse or the Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:44, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Conquest! Game

Hello, I'm trying to get a Wiki page created for Conquest!. Its a video game that has been under active development for 30+ years and one of the earliest examples of multi player online games. I realize there aren't a lot of independent sources. :(

Thanks for your help! JDBEmp (talk) 10:22, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

@JDBEmp, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So your links to three stores are no help to show any notability, and frankly just make it look like promotion. If independent source do not exist after 30+ years of development it means it's just not notable enough for Wikipedia. KylieTastic (talk) 10:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I have a mention from the 1995 Internet Yellow Pages. I also have a hard copy but I doubt that is helpful.
https://books.google.com/books?id=chx20aU7TKMC&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=conquest%21
I spent more time on development versus promotion. I'm not trying to promote on Wikipedia I'm just trying to get an article added. JDBEmp (talk) 11:39, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
A single mention is not enough to show notability. KylieTastic (talk) 14:14, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Can you kindly provide the threshold for notability? JDBEmp (talk) 14:35, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I did with my first reply here and in the decline notice on your user page and the article. See Wikipedia:Notability. KylieTastic (talk) 14:55, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
There is no magic number of sources, but usually 3+ independent sources with significant coverage is what is looked for. Did it get reviewed in any magazines or websites? KylieTastic (talk) 15:08, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
There wasn't a lot of coverage for anything back then (Wikipedia itself didn't start until 2001). I have a reference in a book published in 1995. I have a mention that I didn't write in 2004. I'm still combing the archives.
This feels like a really high bar for this one page, considering some of the other articles here with questionable notability. JDBEmp (talk) 15:15, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I have a post from 2006 I didn't write but not sure if this helps.
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php/68885-Conquest-To-the-victor-go-the-spoils%21-%28Fun-IRC-Web-Game%29?utm_source=chatgpt.com JDBEmp (talk) 15:27, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I miss the days of forums, much better than the un-social media that has killed most of them. However, just more user-generated content from a random person, even though in this case a well thought out and written post compared to many. KylieTastic (talk) 15:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Oh well. Thanks for your feedback. I'll leave it in Draft until I can get some more sources.
Have a nice day! =) JDBEmp (talk) 16:26, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Yes there are still a lot of bad articles on Wikipedia, but slowly they are being improved or deleted. Pointing at other articles that are not notable will only ever get those improved, deleted or redirected and is never valid to add new articles that do not show the subject is notable. KylieTastic (talk) 15:40, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I don't see a notability threshold. can you post again? Is it two? three? ten? JDBEmp (talk) 15:10, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Per above - no set number. KylieTastic (talk) 15:36, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
There was a mention of Conquest on wikipedia in 2004. Does that help?
https://web.archive.org/web/20040428070716/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conquest JDBEmp (talk) 14:49, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
No, that is user-generated content so not a reliable source. Written in the very early days when people could write anything with no sources. KylieTastic (talk) 14:57, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Isn't all of Wikipedia user-generated content. =) JDBEmp (talk) 15:09, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Exactly, thus Wikipedia cannot be used as a source for Wikipedia. In the case that the content is well sourced the sources must be used directly. So Wikis (including Wikipedia), IMDB etc are all not valid as sources. Also, Social media (including Reddit), and most blogs are also no good unless just used to source that someone of note said something specific not covered elsewhere - and even then that does not help show notability. KylieTastic (talk) 15:36, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

@Waleedfarid, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Note IMDB is not a reliable source apart from a few cases see WP:IMDB. KylieTastic (talk) 11:29, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

@Waleedfarid look for this like newspaper and magazine articles about them or independent reliable websites (i.e not user geernated ilke IMDB, or blogs, social media, or PR). Also see WP:DIRECTOR for specifics on notability of creative professionals. KylieTastic (talk) 11:41, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

Hey Timtrent, I did search and fix for a while but stopped as the problem appeared to stop, but I see the issue is back. You can search drafts or insource:/AFC submission\|d\|ts=.{8,21} 2025/ for a manual find. If would be good if the template just detected duff arguments and defaulted back to submit. Frankly the amount of LLM slop AfC now gets is ridiculous, the bad submits are just one issue. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:11, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

CAT:MISSFILE Question

Hi Kylie, just had a quick question while patrolling CAT:MISSFILE. Recently I've been noticing there are certain pages showing up in the category with files that aren't redlinked. The file names just show in plain text without any sort of link connected, but the image still doesn't appear properly in the article. In all instances, there's also no deletion history for these files, on Wikipedia, Commons or Wiki File Helper. Noeggerathia expansa.png on this diff of Kladno Formation is one example of what I'm talking about. This isn't something I had ever seen before about a week ago. I was curious if you knew anything about why these files aren't showing up redlinked as traditional missing files do, and/or if there's anything that should be handled about them differently while patrolling CAT:MISSFILE. Cheers, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 14:20, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi Katniss! I had noticed the same thing, but have not found out why (yet). I just checked the latest tech news updates and can't see any reason for it. Maybe a question for Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). Looks like you can find them on the page search the source with the browsers F12 developer tools and searching for "mw-broken-media". Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:54, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
Hi Kylie! I asked at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) and they were able to figure it out. An update to the Wikimedia code in late April changed it so that missing thumbnail images now display as plain text. Cheers, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 15:11, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the update, although it does look they were only thinking of captions and forgot red-link highlighting. I've added some CSS to my User:KylieTastic/common.css to highlight the names bold red on yellow. KylieTastic (talk) 16:34, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
That's a great idea! I think it would be helpful to have CSS to correct that issue for myself as well. Is it just as simple as putting what you did on this diff on a CSS page for myself? I've admittedly not worked with CSS before, and saw the "this could compromise your account if done wrong" warning on the top of your CSS page, so just wanted to check to make sure I'm doing it right first lol. Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 18:03, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
Yes that's all you have to do. The warning re "this could compromise your account if done wrong" I assume is if someone is persuaded to add Javascript to the css page (I would have hoped it detected and warned). The change just says for elements with both "mw-file-element" and "mw-broken-media" classes change the colours and make bold. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:17, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
Perfect! I just tested it out and it looks great. Thank you so much! Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 19:31, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello KylieTastic:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Global Perspectives in Communication stub

I appreciate the feedback, and I was worried that it was "not quite ready." We're in a bit of a chicken-and-egg scenario: the journal just launched (literally, yesterday: 20 May 2025) and so there's not much out there. Accordingly, it's not so common to have secondary references to academic journals, at least not until they've grown over years. I suppose I saw the initial entry as a "holding space" for the most basic information about the journal, but I'll reconsider ways that I can make that a bit more robust. Bowmanspartan (talk) 14:14, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi Bowmanspartan, If it was launched yesterday it's unlikely to pass notability for a while. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of already 'notable' subjects, not a place to list just subjects that exist. As Wikipedia:Notability (academic journals) states there is "no inherent notability" and "no inherited notability" - so even though the ICA's first 6 journals are notable this one will have to build it's reputation before meriting it's own article. However the International Communication Association article can be updated to mention it. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:30, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
This makes sense, and that's a great suggestion re: appending this to ICA's article. I'll follow that lead. Is there a way to keep this draft from being "deleted" while I continue to work on it however? I'd hate to have to redo the initial set-up work. Bowmanspartan (talk) 19:00, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Unless a draft is deleted for reason such as copy violations or blatant promos etc they are not deleted for 6 months after the last non bot/maintenance edit. So you only have to make an edit every 6 months to keep it going. KylieTastic (talk) 19:03, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Melrose School of San Pablo City

Hey! accept Mary Joy 20 Marcial's ARTICLE! Joshua Kharis 2014 (talk) 06:14, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Nope, not even close to showing any notability. KylieTastic (talk) 08:16, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
I'm the sister of @Joshua Kharis 2014, so give me an exaple, due to that article about school is I can't find any website due to lot of Facebook sites. But I'm beginner or rookie. Mary Joy 20 Marcial (talk) 09:51, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). The majority of such schools are not notable. WP:NSCHOOL/WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. KylieTastic (talk) 10:06, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Can you take another look and fix it? Thanks. 176.108.139.1 (talk) 02:33, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the heads up - fixed. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:49, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

I have tried hard

please see if you wish to add anything to User talk:Novazueva#Propagation of multiple drafts / Распространение нескольких проектов. I think I have it covered. 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 19:10, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Just add it too the list of weird things submitters think will help get an article accepted. If they carry on I see a WP:CIR WP:NOTHERE block inbound. KylieTastic (talk) 19:14, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Timothy Hannem

I see you declined the draft, but the subject has published numerous books and received some significant coverage in the french press.

You can see him interviewed on famous french radios or tvs here : https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c3a618166cb54b24&rlz=1C1GCEA_enFR1108FR1108&q=timothy+hannem&udm=7&fbs=AIIjpHxU7SXXniUZfeShr2fp4giZ1Y6MJ25_tmWITc7uy4KIeuYzzFkfneXafNx6OMdA4MQRJc_t_TQjwHYrzlkIauOK_IaFSQcTHs2AgJbmYqOLNlPDT0Hy19TTgd1LyYk-nATqUlksEoQZVG09gZfle_U4HWWnSbP00Bg1jXXhxPXHO_ZklXeHNi63K93FV-i7HL9XSIXF&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiH7ua6ndeNAxXlZqQEHQ29E0gQtKgLegQIHRAB&biw=1836&bih=1221&dpr=1&safe=active&ssui=on

Also, the subject did some interviews in significant french newspapers (Urbanisme, Le Point, Inrockuptibles, Libération, l'Express, Le Parisien). 147.161.152.126 (talk) 07:24, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Timothy Hannem is completely unsourced. KylieTastic (talk) 08:17, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

I tried as hard as I could

You may not have known this, but I'm quite young. I plunged into despair for a few minutes after seeing that my submission failed. I almost put it for speedy deletion, but stopped myself from deleting it in case I wanted to keep working on it. Please help me with it.

Thanks, Starfall2015 chat 13:41, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi Starfall2015, writing a new article from scratch is one of the hardest things to do, especially as a new editor. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So the thing to do is to start with looking for 3+ good sources to show notability and then work up from those. I can't say that I have seen many articles about roundabouts in all my years doing this and I would expect it was a tough subject area to for notability. Notable exceptions are things like Magic Roundabout (Swindon), but there are more regular examples like Haudagain roundabout. As for Draft:Finger Farm Roundabout you just have 1 source and that is a wiki, so user generated content, so not valid as a source as not reliable. You can use other wikis etc to find sources to help, but unfortunately that wiki page has none. My advice:
  • Don't let an initial decline get you down - it's a hard thing to do and just trying puts you above most people.
  • Look for 3+ good sources about the subject with some good coverage, not just mentions. Once you can show notability, everything else is easier for people to help with
  • Beware of comparing to existing articles as there are still many sub-standard articles written before current policies and guidelines
  • Ask for help/advice at the relevant wikiprojects such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways, or at the Wikipedia:Teahouse which is there for new editors to get help from lots of experienced editors.
Only by trying can you succeed, those that don't try never succeed, those that try may often fail but they will learn from every failure and in the end succeed at more. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:18, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Does the Alana Felisberto page need any touch-ups?

Hello, friend! Nice to meet you, I’m new here. But I saw that you edited a page I contributed to — please tell me if it needs any quick fixes.

Draft: Alana_Felisberto Vitorgpl4 (talk) 14:43, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi Vitorgpl4, and welcome to Wikipedia editing. I did not actually review the article as I'm actually at work, and just keeping and an eye on new submissions for major issues. One thing you should look at is the first source returns "server not found" for me. KylieTastic (talk) 14:48, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Oh thank you so much, updated! Vitorgpl4 (talk) 14:52, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
