I need your help, one editor is deleting the page. ইমরান ভূইয়া (talk) 15:16, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ইমরান ভূইয়া (talk), Dont you worry. The incident is news worthy and easily passes all Wiki guidelines. It is in fact, as I posted in your talk page, will get you your first, ITN. I am fed up with deletionists on wiki, who are not following the Wiki policies properly. Like you, the nominator is a novice and hope he understand the AfD and PROD guidelines properly. Happy editing and keep up the good work! Davidindia (talk) 16:58, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Thank you for creating articles about biographies of Indian politicians. I would like to request you to create articles on former MPs and MLAs from West Bengal that have not yet been created. Tuhin (talk) 08:36, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Tuhin for the good words! Yes, I have managed to create articles for all missing BLPs of current MLAs of all 31 states and Uts in India. As part of the initiative, have also created nearly 20 articles for the Bengal MLAs who did not have pages after the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Also fixed correct links for 20 others. Will try to create for missing MLAs from previous elections. If you have anyone mind, kindly ping me. And also thanks a lot for the work on missing categories you have been doing diligently. Happy Editing! Davidindia (talk) 14:21, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tuhin (talk), finished creating over 30 BLPs for West Bengal MLAs who won in 2016. Happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 19:49, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Davidindia Thank you for your efforts. I'm a Bengali editor. I'll translate the articles into Bengali very soon. I hope your responses will continue. Best wishes to you. Tuhin (talk) 16:21, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:22, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Blofeld Hi sir,
Last time, I fell sick sir. so did things which are my regular and could not do much for the Destubathon. I will try to take active part. Thanks a lot for letting me know. Davidindia (talk) 17:06, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Who are the most overlooked and interesting Women in Red? We've no idea,
but we're putting together our list of the 100 most interesting ex-Women in Red.
We are creating the list to celebrate 10 years of Women in Red and we hope to present it at Wikimania.
We are ignoring the obvious, so do you have a name or subject we should consider?
Can you suggest a DYK style hook?
If you are shy about editing that page, you are welcome to add ideas and comments on the talk page.

Cielquiparle (talk) 04:29, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

HI Cielquiparle (talk), Thanks a lot! Need a small help. A ref was already added to Alvin Bowman by User:TheSlumPanda! But it showed in random search and I took worked on it and added the #Jun25. I did a lot of work so did not want to 'UnDo'. Can you please remove it from my tally as it came in both! thanks a lot! Davidindia (talk) 10:42, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Cielquiparle and @Davidindia, i am also encountering some pages which are already tagged with #JUN25 TheSlumPanda (talk) 10:47, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting me know, @Davidindia and @TheSlumPanda. We will work out how to handle this. Your best bet is to check out the sections like "Popular articles" and "Unreferenced biographies" and "Oldest backlogs" on the main WP:JUN25 page and try to find articles that way. You can also follow the instructions for searching by article topic to find unreferenced articles in topics that you are especially comfortable with. (Looping in @ARandomName123 so we can resolve. I also made a mistake earlier and decided to fail my own review and gift the half-point to you. We can continue discussion on the Project Talk page.) Cielquiparle (talk) 11:43, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Cielquiparle, i have a question for you. Is there any method through which i can check out only Indian articles, because i dont have much knowledge about foreign references, that which article is reliable or not. Hope you understand and Thanks TheSlumPanda (talk) 13:24, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TheSlumPanda: Hi, please remember to remove the orange tag at the top of the page once you add a reference. That's how the blue button is determining what articles to include, so if the tag isn't removed, it's going to give it to other people as well, even though you already added a reference.
As for Indian articles, this search should give you a bunch of them. You can also try this Petscan (Thanks Cielquiparle), though it may take a few more seconds to load. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 15:31, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Transfermarkt

[edit]

Since much of its content is user-edited, Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles. Thank you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:54, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sir Sputnik (talk), thanks a lot, I am using these refs for the first time even though I have written scores of BLPs for Indian footballers. Sure will avoid that. thanks and happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 15:42, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Faridabad, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 09:48, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for Maganti Gopinath

[edit]

On 11 June 2025, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Maganti Gopinath, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. Schwede66 23:04, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I would have happily taken your word for it when you say that the paywalled source does have the full date of birth. May I suggest that you add the exact date to the "Early life and education" section, and move the references to there? Schwede66 23:04, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Schwede66 Thanks a lot sir. Have added the date to Early life section. Davidindia (talk) 10:39, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Creating over 1200 articles within less than two years is not everyone's cup of tea. I'm also proud to say that I acted as your mentor during your initial days and hope to see you for a long time. Thilsebatti (talk) 03:07, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great to hear from you, Thilsebatti!
When I first started editing on Wikipedia a decade ago, I was quite lost and didn’t have much free time. I got frustrated quickly and gave up.
This time around, I’ve been lucky to have mentors like you who not only explained the nuances of Wikipedia’s tricky policies but also guided me through the editing process, making it much easier with the help of semi-automated tools.
I didn’t even know how to self-assess an article at first — and only realised, after you pointed it out, that it’s something we should do once the page is created. You encouraged me to apply for autopatrol rights when I didn’t even know what they were — and now I’m proud to say I have them!
I hope to keep moving forward, even though I sometimes feel disheartened by the ‘deletionists’ — but I suppose that’s part of what keeps Wikipedia clean and reliable.
Thank you so much for all your support! It means a lot, and the barnstar from you is truly appreciated.
Happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 17:05, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Prod was already attempted, as was a redirect. Can we go to WP:AfD to decide this? Bearian (talk) 06:39, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure. May be will try for some citations. Thanks for letting me know! Davidindia (talk) 06:42, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
