We are creating the list to celebrate 10 years of Women in Red and we hope to present it at Wikimania.
We are ignoring the obvious, so do you have a name or subject we should consider?
Can you suggest a DYK style hook?
If you are shy about editing that page, you are welcome to add ideas and comments on the talk page.

Reviewed Joshua Shim

[edit]

Can you please explain that you reviewed Joshua Shim and that it is backed by viable references and it passes GNG. Some users are trying to delete the article on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joshua Shim. Qb1Coach (talk) 05:46, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm reluctant on keeping the article now, mainly because I didn't look at the references clearly while reviewing and there is non-significant coverage that others argue, which I'm on board with by reviewing the sources. ~ Tails Wx 13:54, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I understand but couldn't we recommend to apply: for the time being. There could be promising turnouts. He has so many connections and links to other articles. Qb1Coach (talk) 14:13, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Even if that tag is added, it still would show that Shim may not meet notability guidelines, including GNG. Since the notability is not being shown at the moment, it's why the article is at AfD. ~ Tails Wx 04:20, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

rejected updates to Martin Curtis site

[edit]

Hi My edits to the wikipedia page for Martin Curtis were rejected, and I don't understand why? I manage Martin's website, and am trying to get the wikipedia page current, as it has very outdated information. 150.107.172.206 (talk) 07:47, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The reason why I reverted your edits was because you added external links to the body of an article, which is generally not to be done. Also, if you are updating the information on his page, you should make changes with inline, reliable sources, and not external links/websites closely associated with the subject. Thanks! ~ Tails Wx 13:29, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Globallycz (04:22, 20 June 2025)

[edit]

Hi Tails, I do my edits from a mobile phone. I havent tried inserting a photo. Wonder if visual editor funcrion is available using mobile to edit WP. Thanks in advance. --Globallycz (talk) 04:22, 20 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Globallycz! I believe visual editor is available for editing WP through mobile (or through mobile view), but there are some limitations (WP:VELIM). Additionally, based on what I'm seeing, you unfortunately cannot add images through visual editor on mobile, but it is available to do so on desktop. An alternate that I do sometimes is to switch to desktop mode and add images through visual editor that way; another is to switch to source code following the instructions at Wikipedia:Extended image syntax. ~ Tails Wx 23:53, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tails, thanks for participating in the WikiCup. You recently submitted nine articles for ITN points in the WikiCup, Six are fine, but unfortunately three of them are ineligible for points per WP:WC/SCO:

No problem, and sorry for the inconvenience. I forgot to mention one thing - it's the Main Page appearance, not the nomination, that needs to have occurred no more than 2 weeks before you nominate something for points. – Epicgenius (talk) 20:25, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2025 July newsletter

[edit]

The third round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 June. This round was again competitive, with three contestants scoring more than 1,000 round points:

Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far, while the full scores for round 3 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 4 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 1 featured picture, 9 featured-topic articles, 149 good articles, 27 good-topic articles, and more than 90 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 18 In the News articles, and they have conducted more than 200 reviews.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Collaboration question

[edit]

Hi Tails! Would you be interested on helping write a (hopefully) FA-class article for the 2024 Lakeview EF3 tornado? I've been drooling over this one for a while and finally think it's about time it gets the recognition it deserves. I've had a draft (Draft:2024 Indian Lake tornado) up for a while but haven't actually worked on it. I've already asked Departure–, who is available to help after working on Edwardsville Amazon warehouse collapse. :)
Also, I've given up on an FA rating for Greensburg tornado; just too much work needed. Looking for another potential tornado FA, so I picked this one as prospective. — EF5 01:22, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah! I'll try adding to the draft in the coming days/weeks. I feel like the Greensburg one also has potential even though there's more work to be done, just tidying up in my opinion. Feel free to ask for a collaboration on that too! ~ Tails Wx 15:31, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
