Satishmnavy85, great question - whenever you are paid to edit Wikipedia, the paid editing disclosure is a required statement you must put on your user page and/or any edits you make relating to the topic you are paid to edit to let others know that you are being paid. I have been nominated for a speedy deletion. That's scary.

I spent a whole day entering the information, and while all of it is verifiable and true, I can understand how it might look promotional. As a newbie, there is much I need to learn about creating a Wikipedia page that's good enough for publication.

That will take more than just 1 day of new learning. I am committed to making it right.

I just ask you and others who comment to be a little patient. While I am still a quick learner at nearly 75, there appears to be a lot to learn.

I don't understand the VPN comment. I just bought a new Windows 11 personal computer and have a home wifi, so I don't understand how I was flagged for a VPN.

Again, I spent more than 8 hours adding credible and reference supportable information to my Wikipedia in good faith. It took you minutes to erase all that work. I wasn't finished working on the draft, but needed a break after all that work. How can I now edit my listing without having it available to edit (ie. adding specific references to support my comments, removing promotional and non-relevant information and references that are not relevant) without having to start all over again? Can you place the listing into the sandbox where I can edit?

As someone new to Wikipedia, the speedy deletion option has a chilling effect.

I just tried to create a new page for the first time. It was “List of Essex T20 cricket records”. I based it on “List of Essex List A cricket records”. It seemed to publish OK, but I can’t find it when I try a Wikipedia or a Google search. Any suggestions as to what I may have done wrong.

Cricketnerd99 You have made a draft article. Since you are a new user you have to submit this draft article for review to become a full article - there is a button near the top of the page. As of now, the article would not be accepted because there are no sources cited.

If and when it is published, Wikipedia does not have any control over when Google will index the new article, so you may have to wait some time for it to show on Google. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 16:38, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Cricketnerd99 You're right - the sources are there! I mistakenly assumed they would be in the References section. At this point, I would recommend submitting it. Octaviewer functional medicine is an alternative medicine, so edits to the topic are generally more scrutinized than usual. I don't know why in particular someone reverted your edit. Pejmanchatrrouz, yes, translating articles between different Wikipedias is completely okay. Make sure to read the guidelines at WP:TRANSLATE first, and remember that policies on different Wikipedias may differ, which means that articles that are considered notable on one Wikipedia might not be considered notable on another. Macxiia van Cortlandt, you are talking about 1860 United States presidential election, right? The Image= parameter in the CSS image crop template describes the name of the image to display. The original text there, Abraham Lincoln by Alexander Hesler, 1860-restored (3x4 cropped).png, makes the template look for File:Abraham Lincoln by Alexander Hesler, 1860-restored (3x4 cropped).png.

You removed the Image= parameter at the beginning, which breaks the template. Also, if you hadn't deleted the Image= parameter, inserting the File: prefix may also break the template, as that would cause the template to look for File:File:Face detail, Abraham Lincoln O-10 by Jackson, 1858 (cropped).jpg (which doesn't exist). In short, make sure to leave the parameter names as is and check if you need to have a File: prefix or not.

KeithTB!96 in order to move pages, you must be an autoconfirmed user, so you need to wait a few days.

After you become autoconfirmed, look for Tools -> Move, which is either at the top right of the page or the bar on the right. If you are still having trouble, you may want to see Help:How to move a page. If it doesn't show for you, that means you cannot move the page (it may be move-protected). GoldRomean I think this is fine. I didn't look at the entries you removed specifically, but they will still show up in the edit history and the edit(s) can be reverted if it turns out the subjects might be worthy articles.
