Speedy deletion nomination of User:Michael S. Fey
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Michael S. Fey, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://rcicoins.com/references.asp. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopaedia. Also, any kind of editing to promote, publicise, or advertise anything is not permitted; that includes creating pages to promote oneself or one's career. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if your purpose is to write a personal web page or to publish an online CV or résumé, then you would be better advised to use one of the many web sites which do provide that sort of service, such as a social network site, a web hosting service, or LinkedIn. - First, thank you for pointing out concerns about the first draft of my bio.
- I spent a whole day entering the information, and while all of it is verifiable and true, I can understand how it might look promotional. As a newbie, there is much I need to learn about creating a Wikipedia page that's good enough for publication. That will take more than just 1 day of new learning. I am committed to making it right.
- I just ask you and others who comment to be a little patient. While I am still a quick learner at nearly 75, there appears to be a lot to learn.
- Thanks for your help and any help you might provide in the future. I will do my best too improve the listing. Michael S. Fey (talk) 17:29, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello, Michael S. Fey. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. A page you created User:Michael S. Fey has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic.
This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject."Before you start writing, gather a list of indisputably reliable sources that are entirely independent of the [subject] and that devote significant coverage to the [subject]. Once you have that list of high quality sources, format them into references. Referencing for beginners explains how. Now, neutrally summarize what the sources say, avoiding any promotional language. You can find much more detailed advice at Your first article." --per Cullen328" Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted.
Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid can be located here and here, however be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. Pages can sometimes avoid these pitfalls and still be seen as an ad copy or unambiguously promotional, particularly if the editor appears to be a paid editor or has some other conflict of interest. Please review these policies, including the FAQ page on organizations to determine if this applies to you.
Common mistakes or beliefs about promotional editing center on the assumption that promotional editing only applies to promotion for commercial gain. Some tags or G11 nominations are met with confusion by creators, particularly if they spend much time reading or creating corporate documents, mission/vision statements, or similar copy for their organization. The frequent exposure to promotional tone may make it difficult to notice non-neutral phrases or styles, as the editor has grown accustomed to seeing it as everyday writing or speech. This can be difficult, but not impossible, to unlearn.
Another common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. It applies to any topic, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see this page on citing sources and Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). This page has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there. New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can ask for help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk and on IRC chat Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure is a useful tutorial.
New article creation can be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes it is better to first gain experience by fixing and helping maintain existing articles. Wikipedia:Community portal/Opentask contains links to things that badly need doing, if you are so inclined.

- Can you please undelete and transfer the 8 hours of work I put into the draft into the sandbox? This was a work in progress and I want to make it acceptable for publication unless after reviewing my text you feel I am not worthy of a listing. I do notwant to start from scratch and waste another several hours inputting similar information. Please advice. Michael S. Fey (talk) 19:09, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
