AI tag on 324th Infantry Regiment (United States)

Hi!

I saw that you added a suspected AI tag on the 324th Infantry Regiment (United States) page. I took a look and didn't see any red flags and ran it through gptzero and got a 3% hit. Was wondering if you're ok with removing?

Best, Marleeashton (talk) 22:37, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi there!
Apologies if the article was human written, I used zerogpt and got 83%, and the organization in the history section seemed similar to actual AI articles, if you disagree or can confirm it's not absolutely feel free to remove, thanks for asking! Sophisticatedevening (talk) 17:09, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

List of Ships built at Meyer Werft

Hello, Sophisticatedevening. I accidentally deleted my reasoning and published it without, I published it again with the reasoning.

At the 16.11.2024 I also added the ships to the order backlog at the time and wanted to add or change small changes there after the official ship data was announced

Here is my new reason:

,,Changes to the order backlog table as Disney Cruise Line has published the announcement from August 2024 the official ship data includes a fifth Wish Class Ship and 3 smaller ships with a size of approximately 100,000 GT.''

I hope you understand me

Restoring unsourced content to articles

I see that at Plum Sykes you twice restored material which had been removed with edit summaries indicating that it was being removed because it was unsourced. Wikipedia policy is that article content which has been removed because it is unsourced must not be restored without providing a reference to a reliable source. I also see that you posted a message to the editor who reverted your mistaken editing, referring to that editor's edits as "test" edits. I have looked at the edits in question, and I can't see any reason at all to think they were intended as tests; they look to me as though they were intended as permanent improvements to the article. There are some editors who seem to treat the templated warnings on test edits as catchall warnings for anything that they think is wrong but is not covered by any other templated message. I don't know whether that's what you were doing, but if it was then please don't. If none of tbe ready made messages is appropriate in a particular case, then don't use one which isn't appropriate; instead take the small amount of trouble needed to write a message which is appropriate. @Scope creepYou're okay with me moving to mainspace? Sophisticatedevening (talk) 14:55, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
No. There is two for it. The first is that its contingent on you as an excellent editor to fix the references and find more if you can. You have a duty of care to do it. And second, its still borderline notable and I would like to see better references, otherwise I would have mainspaced it yesterday. It needs to be able able to prove its notable and it doesn't at the moment. I hope that helps. scope creepTalk 15:04, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

Huh?

At User talk:99.228.126.146, it seems like you placed the warning for the ip user at the top of the page, instead of below the "February 2025" heading. Was this a mistake? Justjourney (talk) 23:46, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Ah, I think there's a bug with Huggle right now where it messes up placement of warnings, we have a thread on it here. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 00:06, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Oh I see, that's why I clicked level 2 warning on my Twinkle menu, because I thought that warning up there was irrelevant (old warning). Justjourney (talk) 00:11, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Should I move the the message into the correct location? Justjourney (talk) 03:55, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
I wouldn't since they seemed to have stopped vandalizing and someone gave already gave them a level 3 so it doesn't really matter that much. If you want you can remove it altogether though. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 15:04, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Masahiro Kuranuki

I noticed that you tagged Masahiro Kuranuki with {{prod blp}} for proposed deletion. I have removed the tag from the article because it does not meet the criteria specified. The placement requirements are (a) that subject is living, and (b) that the article contains no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc., reliable or otherwise) supporting any statements made about the person in the biography. Please fully read Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people before tagging articles for proposed deletion. Thank you.

In particular, the subject's website and blog in the External links section support statements made about the person in the biography. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 15:38, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

As the only "sources" listed are external links to the actor's website and personal blog, I am sending to Afd. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 17:08, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 March newsletter

The first round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As a reminder, we are no longer disqualifying the lowest-scoring contestants; everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned from Wikipedia. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. Unlike the round points in the main WikiCup table, which are reset at the end of each round, tournament points are carried over between rounds and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far.

Round 1 was very competitive compared with previous years; two contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 500 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 18 featured articles, 26 featured lists, 1 featured-topic article, 197 good articles, 38 good-topic articles and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 23 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 550 reviews.

Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2, which begins on 1 March. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Andrew Tate

I was wondering could you adjust Andrew Tate's height from 6'3" to 6'2"? The fight card for his previous match before his last one in 2020 lists him as 1.90 m, which is 6'2". I know you have the info, but they also mentioned he weighed 93 kg, or 205 lbs, for the fight against Lulian Strugariu. Anonymous1287 (talk) 17:21, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

I don't really feel comfortable making that change as the source(1) in the article directly contradicts that, sorry. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 17:30, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

I reverted your edit due to the addition of disruptive material here, where you added, "F*** Yarmouth" and "In the winter of 2025, Jaqueline "Jackie" Hayes was taking into custody by the national guard after being classified by the US Government as a national security threat. After escaping from authorities, Jackie now lives her life on the run. She was last seen on 3/3/25 living with a tribe in Papua New Guinea. Little is known about her current whereabouts, please contact officials if you have any information regarding Hayes, as it could save lives." Many thanks for your kind message. Of course, I am very happy to wait for your response (which I hope will be positive!). Riga-to-Rangoon (talk) 18:13, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Don't worry about the copyvio comment, it looks like the site copied the draft, not the other way around. That was mostly a reminder to myself to ask for a second opinion and look closer at it when I got a chance. Cheers! Sophisticatedevening (talk) 18:20, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

My article about flu season

Dear Sophia,

Thank you for making changes to my article. As long it does not get deleted, I am fine with any changes you make to it. I am willing to fix them each time you delete whatever should not be there. HomerLikesMarge7285 (talk) 19:38, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

I am willing to accept that I am new so this may take months to go public as an article. HomerLikesMarge7285 (talk) 19:39, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
No worries, I'll swing by the draft in a little bit with more feedback, just make sure everything you write is in your own words to avoid copyright issues. Cheers, Sophisticatedevening (talk) 19:41, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
Ok, thank you HomerLikesMarge7285 (talk) 19:48, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
I fixed the article of today.com and said "today.com reports" and semi changed it to my words. HomerLikesMarge7285 (talk) 20:04, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi , thank you for leaving a note on my draft. I added more sources as you asked, but I am unable to exctract more information from the original description of the species because the publication is in Italian. I was recomended to expand the species list of Strongylosoma genus and almost every species I added does not have an article, so i wanted to make small starter articles for each of them so they can be grown by everyone. Is it alright , and is it better to always include at least 3 sources to begin this sort of small articles ? Antojien (talk) 01:54, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Of course, these articles are always welcomed. WP:NSPECIES has good guidance that you might find helpful for this. Generally, 3 sources are asked of any article to verify the information and prove notability. While English sources are preferred, there is no requirement that sources have to be in it so long as they are reliable, independent and secondary. Most articles start off as stubs, so don't worry too much about the length. I would also recommend checking out WikiProject Tree of Life if you're interested in these topics. Feel free to come back if you have any questions, good luck! Sophisticatedevening (talk) 02:08, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

AfC move notices

Hey Sophisticatedevening! Thanks for helping out at AfC. I came across some notices you left at User talk:MikeJanetta#Your AfC Submission has been moved and noticed you've been using Template:REVISIONUSER in lieu of your username. Which means that, at the time of your revision, your messages show correctly, but when I edited it, my name shows up in place of where yours should be! This should be avoided, as it causes confusion for the user who received the message as well as future editors.

Are you manually copy-pasting Template:AfC move? If so, that's fine - but make sure to replace the "REVISIONUSER" parts with your username when doing so. You can also leave the notice with {{subst:Afc move}} which does that for you automatically. In case it'd be helpful, there's also a Draftify gadget available that a lot of folks working in AfC (me included) use that automates the notice-leaving process for these cases. ~Liancetalk 02:08, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Actually, my bad, please disregard what I said above - I got confused viewing the template page instead of your notices. The issue was just that you didn't use subst: in front of the template. Make sure to include it when leaving notices in the future to prevent the username issue. ~Liancetalk 02:14, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
Oh thank you for letting me know, that saved me a trip to the village pump. I saw that a few minutes ago and was baffled because the diffs didn't show any difference with the name change. I was manually typing the template and must have forgotten. Also thanks for letting me know that Draftify does that, I thought it only worked for mainspace. Cheers! Sophisticatedevening (talk) 02:19, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
I was just as confused as you were, haha. Took me a couple of minutes to figure out what was really happening. Good thing we managed to get it sorted! ~Liancetalk 02:30, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

My User talk:Its tomukun submission matter

What sort of reference must I add to be accepted? I thought it was sufficient but according to your review it was not. Also thank you for reviewing so fast! Its tomukun (talk) 22:40, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Your 3 references are a google search, a fiverr link and credits at a small video game website. These are not enough to establish notability, as I have no idea what I'm looking for in the google search, fiverr is user generated and the credits do not provide significant coverage. Feel free to resubmit when you can find multiple reliable, independent and secondary sources for it and another reviewer will take a look. deletion of Draft:Padre Raffaele of Sant'Elia a Pianisi

Good evening,

Regarding your recent deletion of my article, I do not see why it should have been deleted. Please clarify with me.

Reasons:

It is already a page on the Czech Wikipedia.

He is a notable person.

There are many articles on Wikipedia like this one; why should this article be deleted?

If you could undelete or explain to me why it was deleted or what I could do to improve it, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Roc1233 (talk) 00:18, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

@Roc1233 Don't worry, your draft was not deleted it is right here. I declined it because it only cites 2 sources, leaving a lot of unsourced information throughout. Don't give up, you have plenty of time to keep improving, there is no rush. Spend a few days researching more sources, and resubmit when you feel ready. Another reviewer will take a look at it and decide then. Cheers, Sophisticatedevening (talk) 00:41, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
thank you i really appreciate your response Roc1233 (talk) 00:44, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
do you know how many sources i need to cite? Roc1233 (talk) 00:54, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
There is no magic number, but all statements made need to have a source to back it up. Check out WP:YFA and WP:REFBEGIN if you still have questions. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 00:58, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
