it's the Laura!(she/her and it/its are both good) I like to write articles generally under the label of "history." I think coverage on-wiki of history is unfortunately highly variable and at times biased in its coverage and quality, and I want to try to do my little part to fix that. I think improving social and economic history is something we ought to strive for.
I like writing about obscure historical figures (because of their relative simplicity in presenting an overview) and coins (because I collect them and find them neat pieces of art.) I want to stretch out into more areas, especially regarding broad-scale historical topics, which are woefully represented at the moment.
