Assistance with Roland Buck III Wikipedia Page

[edit]

Greetings,

My page for actor Roland Buck III keeps getting rejected and I'm not sure why? I've compared his page to several other up and coming actors and I feel like I have satisfied the requirements especially with the amount of situations. Can you look into this for me please as I have no clue what else I am supposed to do.

Thank you and any help is greatly appreciated.

Best,

WikiCup 2025 July newsletter

[edit]

The third round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 June. This round was again competitive, with three contestants scoring more than 1,000 round points:

Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far, while the full scores for round 3 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 4 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 1 featured picture, 9 featured-topic articles, 149 good articles, 27 good-topic articles, and more than 90 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 18 In the News articles, and they have conducted more than 200 reviews.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Inquiry About Potential Wikipedia Articles for Members of the Devlin Family

[edit]

Dear writer, I hope this message finds you well.

I’m reaching out after seeing your thoughtful and well-researched Wikipedia entry on Dr. Mark J. Devlin. It’s clear that you have a deep appreciation for scientists and their contributions, and your writing helps ensure their work is recognized and accessible to the public. Thank you for doing that important work.

I’m writing on behalf of filmmaker Paul Devlin—Mark's brother—who was impressed with the page you created and wanted to ask whether you might be interested in creating additional Wikipedia entries for other members of the Devlin family, whose careers also deserve to be documented.

First, Paul’s wife, Emily Raabe, is a published author and poet based in New York. She writes biographies and children’s books, and her poetry has appeared in literary journals such as the Indiana Review. We believe her contributions to literature merit consideration for a Wikipedia entry.

Paul would also love to see pages created for his parents, Nancy Devlin and Thomas J. Devlin, both of whom had distinguished careers in science and education: Nancy Devlin was an educational psychologist who retired from the public school system in Princeton, New Jersey. Thomas J. Devlin is a retired physics professor from Rutgers University and was part of the research team that discovered the atomic particle known as the top quark.

Since your interests seem to align with honoring scientific achievement, and you kindly created Dr. Mark Devlin’s page without compensation, Paul was wondering if you might be open to helping with these entries as well. We are more than open to discuss payment as well.

Please let us know if this is something you’d be interested in, or if you have any guidance on how best to proceed.

Warm regards, Assistant to Paul Devlin, DevlinPix 136.206.9.31 (talk) 13:27, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Without stealing HickoryOughtShirt's thunder, I will point out that you yourself will need to formally declare a conflict of interest or, if you are employed as Mr. Devlin's assistant, a paid relationship(which would be required by the Terms of Use). 331dot (talk) 13:37, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks 331dot, you can never steal my thunder . IP, DevlinPix, or however you wish to be addressed, I appreciate your thoughtful words about the article I created. Through some cursory research, Dr. Thomas J. Devlin likely qualifies for a Wikipedia article, but I am unsure about the others. However, I am not comfortable (nor do I have the time) to wade through the waters of our conflict of interest procedures and policies to write about the Devlin family with you two. I will add them to my "to do" list and, if I so choose, will write an article without outside influence or comments. If you wish to write it yourself, an unbiased, experienced editor will review it through the WP:YFA process. In the meantime, I strongly advise against paying anyone to write an article about these individuals. Oftentimes, they do not follow the guidelines 331dot lists above and it is not lookeed upon favourably by our community. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:18, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
