Barbara Clark Elam moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Barbara Clark Elam. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CycloneYoris talk! 22:28, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Thank you + a quick note about neutral POV
[edit]Hi Halimaliha, I stumbled upon some of your work during new page patrol. First off thank you for your contributions, it looks like you're working hard to make biographies of Black women leaders. I just wanted to drop you a quick note about neutral POV. On Barbara Clark Elam, you said things like "she proudly became a member"
and described her as a "champion for mental health"
and as a "respected member of the Massachusetts Black Librarians Association."
While all those statements may very well be true and/or a reasonable interpretation of what most people believe, these statements are not quite in-line with the formal, neutral, and encyclopedic tone we use on Wikipedia. One way to approach it is to try to think of your writing here, regardless of the topic, like a scientific paper - without any subjective value judgements or peacock prose. If a reliable source that is completely independent of the subject (i.e. not affiliated with her, any schools she's attended, any institutions she has worked for or been affiliated with, etc.) describes her in a subjective way, you can include those statements or sentiments with an attribution to who said it and a citation. You've done that perfectly with "In 2023, she was recognized as one of "Boston’s most admired, beloved, and successful Black Women leaders" by the Black Women Lead project."
Again, thank you for your efforts, I just wanted to mention this in case it assists with your future writing. Best, Zzz plant (talk) 20:51, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
