Wikipedia:Requests for page protection

Page semi-protected
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from User:ToBeFree/Rfpp proposal)
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or, failing that, the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Edit war behavior continued after SEMI implemented; probably needs ECP or FULL. Sariel Xilo (talk) 16:13, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There's no vandalism it was a content question, which has already been resolved based on the talk page as Masem had misunderstanding about the white space content. Koriodan (talk) 02:42, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    +1 Extended confirmed protection: Persistent vandalism despite semi-protection 2A00:FBC:EEC0:E893:D81D:B348:7F5C:FE43 (talk) 18:12, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Reason: Sockpuppetry; see also Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Andrew5. Departure– (talk) 16:23, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Despite a recent 24 hour full protection, both IP and established editors continue to edit war over birth and death dates. Now they're also warring over whether his real name is Terrence or Terry. At least one established editor has broken WP:3RR after being warned. Discussion is happening on talk page but the edit warring on the article continues regardless. NJZombie (talk) 22:12, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Resume of behaviour less than 48 hours after last protection ended. livelikemusic (TALK!) 22:24, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism changing the name of a BLP. GraziePrego (talk) 05:29, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary pending changes protection: Persistent vandalism. Unexplained and unsourced vandalism by an IP claiming that the Brooklyn Bridge's clearance is less than 40 ft. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 05:35, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Revolving IP has been editwarring and removing content on multiple pages after repeated warnings. Admin at SPI recommended page protection is easier to handle this [1] Magherbin (talk) 08:45, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

admin not say i was they say IF I was, but is not true. they accuse me of puppet as well is not true too. He keep adding OR look me edits please

he try before lock but fail

Reason: There's been some edit warring on this FA by an IP and a brand new account - 'both' deny being connected to one another, but it's amazing that two new editors both land on this page and are both pressing for the same small and obscure fact to be added to the page. - SchroCat (talk) 10:07, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Two logged-out editors have been name-warring on this article since 10 April.

Since 20 April 2025, a logged-out editor has been edit-warring to change the names in the article from Ahmednagar to Ahilyanagar.

Another logged-out editor has been inappropriately changing Ahilyanagar to Ahmednagar since 10 April.

Reason: Make the page semi-protected as unregistered accounts usually make a mess. JustAnAlbo (talk) 14:33, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Again, editors adding a new coach which has not been announced. Kante4 (talk) 16:02, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Disruptive edits by sock dynamic IP user, where he was disruptively editing the related List of Qualcomm Snapdragon systems on chips as well. Alawadhi3000 (talk) 16:22, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Persistent changing of tornado ratings that are unsourced and periodic vandalism. EF5 16:59, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of four days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 01:47, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Edit war still going on... Sariel Xilo (talk) 18:09, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Disruption from IP editor has continued after prior protection lapsed. Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:47, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Requesting as likely WP:PROMO sockpuppetry and edit warring has persisted with no clear signs of ceasing. Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:56, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Kajmer05 (talk) 19:10, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Vandalism. The Media are speculating that the character is returning to the soap, yet the BBC has not confirmed this. Until they do confirm it, the article should not say that the character is returning. MrLewisAshdown (talk) 19:40, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Disruptive editing and back and forth on reverts 46.49.71.37 (talk) 20:11, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Edit warring by dynamic IP. Loafiewa (talk) 21:46, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent disruptive editing. I’ve been trying to rapidly revert these edits related to Bob the Builder, but they keep happening over and over. 2603:8001:8043:2B22:8568:543C:1211:3422 (talk) 23:59, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated attempts to remove valid information by anonymous user(s). Seems to be an IP hopping vandal. Has been quite persistent but with gaps in-between attempts so I suggest at least a few weeks protection. DanielRigal (talk) 00:05, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent change of birth year to random years by IP users, specifically from Vietnam. Blocking is not helping as a new address continues the vandalism. Telenovelafan215 (talk) 01:29, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Add "#REDIRECT Niggas in Paris"

    • From an incorrect name: This is a redirect from an incorrect name that serves readers as a good search term. The correct name is given by the target of the redirect.
      • Pages that use this link should be updated to link directly to the target without the use of a piped link that hides the correct details.
