    Shortcuts

    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

    After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Rationalist community

    Reason: An administrator of a website associated with this community (LessWrong) posted about the article on the website, calling some passages "inane", accusing editors of editing despite being topic banned, and encouraged his followers to edit the article (https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/EQJfdqSaMcJyR5k73/#bfzEHGiiNtnRerujL). Since then the article has seen several SPAs show up making disruptive edits that need to be reverted, wasting editors' time.     Presumably the IP intends to nominate this and the below for deletion based on their other edits. But that doesn't require an unprotection; they can just request that the TfD tag be added using {{edit template-protected}}. However, what makes you think Not used in block summaries, unlike {{anonblock}}?     Reason: This was indef-semied via this request by Daniel Case (his talk page is also protected, hence asking here first). This was probably inappropriate; the report said "repeated IP vandalism over the last 6 months", but there were a mere 2 vandalism edits over that time frame, both on the same day by the same IP.     Iran–Israel war

    Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because the war ended. I would like to edit or suggest an edit that someone could make. I would like to suggest to change the title of the war from "Iran-Israel War" to "The Twelve Day War." Firstly, at least for now, the war has effectively ended. Secondly, the term 12 days' war was coined by President Trump, and President Trump played a big rule in ending the conflict in striking Iranian nuclear facilities and in initiating the eace process by calling for a ceasefire. Therefore, in respect for President Trump, who effectively ended the war, I suggest we change the name of the conflict to the Twelve Day War.     Ok. Even if the page will be protected, what do you think of my suggestion to change the page title from Iran-Israel War to the 12 Day War? Considering that the war is no longer limited to just Israel and Iran, and given Trump's success to end th conflict, I think we should allow him the luxury of coining the name for the war, as the 12 Day War. If I cannot edit that, do you want to edit it or pass it along for someone to consider editing it to that name, in respect for the man who ended it? The war only lasted 12 days after all.

    Iran–Israel war

    The statement that : "9,000+ Israeli civilians displaced" and "8,000+ Israeli civilians homeless" at the bottom of the "Casualties and losses" panel is misinformation by omission. Civilian infrastructure was also destroyed in Iran (example https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/13/shock-fear-in-tehran-after-israel-bombs-residential-military-areas) and I think we should either remove the statement about Israeli civilians, or add one for Iranian civilians in case any estimate exists.
