Thanks and suggestion

[edit]

Thanks for reverting some of the disruptive edits to MOS:ISLAM. When dealing with a string of edits like that, instead of trying to undo each one individually it is often best to view the history and find the last "good" version that was published before the disruption occurred. You can then restore that version by following the instructions at Help:Reverting#Restoring a past version. Perception312 (talk) 02:05, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for finding the last good version yourself and restoring the page, and thank you for pointing me to a guide on how I could do so myself :) 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 02:14, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on \certified depressant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A kitten for you!

[edit]

Since we have a "Submission is blank" AfD decline template we don't mark blank submissions for speedy, plus quite often the draft author isn't quite sure how AfD works and submits for review thinking they need to do that first before writing the content of the draft.

qcne (talk) 15:28, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thank you for that information. I will keep it in mind for the future. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 15:31, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep up the good work, anti-vandalism and CSD tagging was how I got started on Wikipedia. :) qcne (talk) 15:44, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

false deletion

[edit]

added a big section on a wikipedia page, deleted for seemingly no reason even though it wasn’t violating any rules HSBXHEKEHXB7253 (talk) 18:40, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the changes done due to the fact that they didn't fit the tone of Wikipedia, relied too heavily on a primary source, and the fact that Wikipedia is not censored. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 18:43, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
it’s on a school website which children will see, it’s best to at least censor certain words due to the fact children of ages 11-16 will see it and possibly younger due to people trying to see if they should send their child to the school HSBXHEKEHXB7253 (talk) 18:45, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Despite that, Wikipedia is not censored. Please refer to WP:NOTCENSORED and WP:DISC. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 18:47, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

deleted the whole article

[edit]

deleted the whole entire article after i wrote one little thing, don’t think that’s very reasonable considering the fact that hours of work are now lost, it was a well established article as well IEVEOWUDGXNZ (talk) 20:08, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The work isn't lost, it is stored in the logs. Please don't reinstate it without taking into account why it was deleted. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 20:10, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i find it insane how it’s allowed for you to remove work that wasn’t even done by me, and then proceed to try and add your own which is completely wrong then give up half-way leaving a half written paragraph that is factually incorrect IEVEOWUDGXNZ (talk) 20:14, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
How is mine completely wrong? I am open to editing it further if I misinterpreted the document. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 20:15, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
1. he never received any sort of punishment for his crimes, he could work at ANY school in the uk
2. he acted inappropriately from 2008-2015
3. he was never removed, he resigned voluntarily IEVEOWUDGXNZ (talk) 20:18, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My response per bullet point
1. The document says that "This means that Mr Shakeel Ahmed is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England. Furthermore, in view of the seriousness of the allegations found proved against him, I have decided that Mr Ahmed shall not be entitled to apply for restoration of his eligibility to teach."
2. Yes, he did act inappropriately during that time period. The reason I wrote February 2022 was because that was when the decision in the document was given. I will add that detail though
3. The source/the document doesn't detail what happened after (if the removal went through or if he resigned), and I couldn't find a secondary source on the subject. I will correct it if you can provide a secondary source though. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 20:23, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LTA

[edit]

If you see the "up and down" LTA report them to AIV directly and do not send them warning templates on their talk page. This'll avoid you becoming a target for them next time. If you receive any more threatening messages on your talk page, let an admin know and they'll protect it for a while. 🧙‍♀️ Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 20:57, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thank you for the notice. I will do as such if I see them again. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 20:59, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The slurs are always rough to deal with, but getting a hater account is almost a badge of honor for doing good antivandal work for long enough. If I wanted to be smug about it, I'd flaunt stuff like Professional LaffyTaffer Hater more often.
That said, obviously here's hoping you don't encounter any more harassment moving forward. Taffer😊💬(she/they) 21:09, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

While their edits are not up to Wikipedia standards, they are not vandalism. Vandalism has a specific meaning on Wikipedia. Poorly formatted, good faith edits are not vandalism. Please don't bite the newcomers. The editor may have a COI, but it is still not vandalism. TurboSuperA+(talk) 03:32, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, yeah I definitely should have been much nicer when talking to them. Apologies. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 04:37, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Benedicta Neysa Nathania

[edit]

Hello 45dogs. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Benedicta Neysa Nathania, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Fellow at the Riyal Geographic Society is a credible claim of importance . Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:25, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a doofus. I messaged the editor just before your revert to apologise for not reading the article properly. When I read it again I messaged them straight away. No excuses, slip of the mind. Knitsey (talk) 22:31, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Its fine, it happens sometimes. I should've pointed out what the articles said before the content was added. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 22:33, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, I should have been more careful. But thanks for reverting it. Knitsey (talk) 22:35, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Linguistics and the Book of Mormon

[edit]

I've mentioned you in a conversation on the talk page after you added fringe content with sources that do not meet Wikipedia's sourcing guidelines to the page. Please participate in the discussion. 166.199.97.87 (talk) 07:20, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I plan to, I am just busy dealing with vandalism. 45dogs (they/them) (talk) 07:21, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Its disruptive to revert edits you do not understand. Please cease, and only revert actual vandalism. 166.199.97.87 (talk) 07:47, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Gratitude

[edit]

id like you express my gratitude to you for helping me understand what i was doing wrong. Indeed, personal attacks on wikipedia are unacceptable and always will be. Thats exactly what i was doing and i stopped the moment i realized i was going too far with something, with somebody else on the wikipedia. We need more smart people like you on wikipedia.

i shared my disability with the public on the help desk, as i believe being an autism spectrum disorder person puts me at both advantage and a disadvantage. its a problem ive been dealing with for years, people sometimes think i have Schizophrenia by mistake, but i dont.

i wish you good luck with your future on wikipedia, and with your life in generally. by the way, im also a big fan of anime related media,,, I used to watch anime alot as a kid!

I also play a game called Maple Story. its an MMORPG with anime graphics, you can google it to see what its all about. have you played it ?

Sometimes I become drunk or frustrated by something else and take my anger out around the Internet or publicly on forums and such..... I try to control myself but I sometimes go "too far" with my words.

thanks, noam Noamatadgy (talk) 19:47, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Heads up

[edit]

Careful of the 3RR. It probably even applies here. tony 12:03, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, forgot about the 3RR. Will stop reverting. Thanks for the heads up. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 12:04, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sending some appreciation! There's been a large number of times where I've gone to review a heavily promotional draft and you've already gone and CSD'd it! Keep up the good work.
