Propose merging Template:User css-N with Template:User css-4.
The text in the userbox is the same with css-4, referring to expert knowledge. "-N" templates used with programming languages have long been considered a joke, as they normally should use the "native speaker" wording. The categories have already been deleted multiple times: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2012 January 12#c-Timrollpickering-2012-01-21T01:56:00.000Z-Category:User_pas-N. I believe the correct solution would be to replace all uses with User-css4 and either delete this template or turn it into a joke template, since similar still exists – Template:User pas-N. Template:Regeneron Science Talent Search

Very recently created template with the names of prior winners of the Regeneron Science Talent Search, a prize for high school students who do a science project. The prize is notable, but I am very dubious about the merit of this template. My count indicates that it has the names of 99 winners, of which only 21 currently have Wikipedia pages. This suggests that many of the prior winners either did or would fail WP:BLP1E (or WP:BIO1E). To me the fact that most of the names here are redlinked certainly raises the question of whether this template should exist. Ldm1954 (talk) 17:20, 29 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I understand it, the purpose of this kind of template is to facilitate navigation from one notable winner to another one. Non-notable names in the template have no purpose. I see no indications of any improvements, so I will remain with my nomination to delete. It has been discussed that this award alone does not qualify someone for a page via WP:NPROF. Anyone who is truly notable (and not everyone here is) will qualify for other reasons. Hence there is no real rationale for this template, a list of winners ob the main page is more than enough. Merge with Template:WikiProject Disambiguation: per nom and SMcCandlish. The WP banner already covers the technical aspect of this template and is fairly clear to understand.
