Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Skitash (talk) 22:27, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks, I didn't use the editing summary because when I started trying to put a summary my cell phone started to fail, I tried again but it failed again, I'm going to try to do it again Farcazo (talk) 15:24, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Peace.

To clarify the situation... The second logo was created by Coast Shield Brigade in the first days of its existence (appeared less than a day earlier than first Coast Shield Brigade video manifest) and used in its propaganda posts and videos, then diffused through a lot of allied groups, TG / FB / Twitter news and individual channels.

I recommend to check few links, to see the occurence of the logo in social media:

I understand that it is a logo that has been used, I think I did not express myself well, it was not that they had never used the logo but that it had to be updated because the Facebook channel on which it was based I had changed the logo to the eagle logo, I understand that it is real but it didn't fit me because of the lion made with artificial intelligence in https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1198446881623646&set=pb Farcazo (talk) 21:39, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I got your point. Ain't satisfied at all by abuse of AI in heraldics too, but be sure this thing will become even more rampant in the future. If I'm not mistaken about Wikipedia, files used in such cases still stay in the "grey zone", especially when there aren't any authentic manually made alternative. Excuse me for the reversion I did in a somewhat agressive manner, but I hope you understand my rations behind this action. 86.107.165.80 (talk) 16:42, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, if the AI will become a part of Wikipedia in magazines or images (In Wikimedia Commons there is an option of an image is made with AI) That's why I didn't like the lion with AI but I realized it was just a promotional image.
I also have to admit that I went too far in reverting all the changes that dealt with the logo just because of the lion. Farcazo (talk) 17:05, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your understanding and responsiveness. I will try to refrain from repeating such incidents. 86.107.165.80 (talk) 19:56, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciation!

[edit]

Hi Farcazo,
I've noticed that we tend to edit similar pages, and I would like to commend you on the amount of images you add to articles. I think that the importance of images within articles seems to get overlooked by the wider editing community, for one reason or another.
Keep up the good work! Castroonthemoon (talk) 23:13, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, I also have to congratulate you on all the pages you created or edited Farcazo (talk) 23:18, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello! Thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Harakat al-Abdal! However, adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.

which displays inline in the running text of the article as:

Lorem ipsum[1] dolor sit amet.

and displays under References as:

  1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.

If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations: in the wikitext editor, try the reFill tool, and in the Visual Editor, the reference dialog can convert some bare urls into a full citation. Moerover, don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 23:12, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Citing Wikipedia on Wikipedia is to claim an event that has its own article and not to be citing source by source.
Thank you very much. Farcazo (talk) 23:17, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You could use {{see also}} for that purpose. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:17, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I never knew how to do it, because I tried and only got an error.
Thank you very much from me Farcazo (talk) 23:19, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much from me Farcazo (talk) 01:19, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! I have some more tips for you:

  1. Never copy-paste text from external websites, as you did for example on Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror Brigade with sentences like It merged into the Sultan Murad Division in 2015 but left some time later. Reportedly responsible for the torture of a man trying to flee to YPG-held territory. from [1]; you could get banned for that, despite we appreciate you as contributor;
  2. Only use <br> tags inside infoboxes and tables, not inside the article text itself;
  3. When possible, try to avoid links to disambiguation pages; for example, you may link Syrian Turkmen instead of generic Turkmen.
  4. We call the country Turkey, not Türkiye.

Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:18, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1. Yes, I understand that I can be expelled for copyright
2. I use < br > to separate sentences
3. I understand, the use of generic words is wrong, but no source says that he is a Syrian Turkmen and emphasizes that he is financed by Turkey
4. The word Turkey is used by several people but they changed it to "Türkiye", I understand I will use "Turkey" from now on. Farcazo (talk) 01:46, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Thorbrandr

[edit]

Hello Farcazo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Thorbrandr for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Thorbrandr to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

You can delete it, I just converted it to draft, it usually doesn't notify you but I give you thank you Farcazo (talk) 20:20, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror Brigade has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Plainly fails WP:SIGCOV, as the MEMRI coverage only refers to it as one among many Syrian Turkmen Brigades, The New York Times only devotes a single sentence to remarking on the trend of naming after Ottoman rulers, and Bulbajer's guide on Google Docs is not a reliable source. The Institute for the Study of War is a generally reputable source, but its brief coverage is only cited to X/Twitter posts. Searches for additional sources did not yield significant coverage to merit an article separate from Syrian Turkmen Brigades and Sultan Murad Division.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
