Current requests for increase in protection level

[edit]
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or, failing that, the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Indefinite extended-confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:32, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Article has not been edited since Christmas (Literally). Daniel Case (talk) 08:19, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalisms, as always happen during transfermakt periods. However the page is continuosly (but not heavily) subject to vandalisms by un-registered users, as it seems to attarct these kind of thing. I suggest to start with lowest level of protection and, if persistent after its expiration, to increase duration time. Riktetta (talk) 18:36, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. They seem to have backed off after yesterday. Daniel Case (talk) 12:16, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Repeated attempts to bypass formal discussion procedures to retitle and change the scope of this article against consensus from multiple dynamic Indian IPs and accounts. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 18:39, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Spate of recent IPs adding WP:PROMO to the article. Amigao (talk) 21:51, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Lectonar (talk) 08:26, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The same person is using many IPs to make the same edit. Chthe (talk) 23:10, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Inaccurate changes being made about current/former band members which have now been made several times and have had to be rolled back several times. Good idea to lock this page and required only validated editors to make changes. Flipflame (talk) 23:59, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite extended-confirmed protection: Community sanctions enforcement. WP:RUSUKR 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 01:26, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism by removing knockout stage excerpts of a football tournament as evident here [1][2][3] —⚰️NΛSΛ B1058 (TALK) 02:30, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Half of recent edits are IP vandalism. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:55, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent WP:LOUTSOCK activity from Phạm Văn Rạng and/or Sotavino. Jay8g [VTE] 03:29, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism over a newly released film. Epicion (talk) 05:44, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. Rickyharder (talk) 06:04, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Last disruptive edit more than a week ago. Lectonar (talk) 08:22, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Requesting page protection under AE:GENSEX, due to ongoing disruptive edits on this CTOP. For context, the article relates to a court case involving a transwoman suing a trans-exclusionary radical feminist. Nil🥝 06:18, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Comment:: The name of the article alone might make it a vandalism target. Unusual case names sometimes get that. See the filter log for United States ex rel. Gerald Mayo v. Satan and His StaffSumanuil. (talk to me) 06:59, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked: Upwomen (talk · contribs) blocked by Ritchie333. for 72 hours under CTOPS. I agree the case title might attract vandals, but based on my experience with other pages about funny case names like United States v. Approximately 64,695 Pounds of Shark Fins, Batman v. Commissioner and Schmuck v. United States, I think we need to wait and see if vandalism becomes a long-term problem. 08:32, 12 August 2025 (UTC) Daniel Case (talk) 08:32, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
Just noting that there have been other users/IPs the last month also vandalising the page, e.g. [4] [5] [6].
As it's currently a high profile and active court case regarding trans rights in the Australian media, it's likely to be an ongoing issue. Nil🥝 09:41, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: An RM has resulted in a move to its current target. Restore protection when disruptions resume, but for now I don't see it! Intrisit (talk) 16:55, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

Question: I don't really understand this request...both pages are protected imho. Lectonar (talk) 08:24, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

May 23 (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) I am drawing el C's attention here, the protecting user, instead at their TP due to their moderate activity nowadays. I am requesting for a downgrade in the edit-protection level from indef semi to indef PC because I reckon that it has been protected long enough since 2019.154.108.26.212 (talk) 17:40, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
