Syrian Republic
[edit]Hi, Freedoxm. Am I missing something, or isn't Talk:Syrian Republic § Requested move 24 May 2025 3:1 in favor of moving? I'll note that the previous, unsuccessful RM was started by a sock, with the other users' arguments all being pretty weak, so I wouldn't put too much weight on its existence either. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 00:50, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
- Apologies, I didn't properly review it. As of right now, I see two supporting (bolded). I'll file a move technical request now. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 00:54, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
Contentious topics reminder
[edit]You were previously advised of the contentious topic restrictions in the Arab-Israeli conflict area. Your comment at this move request is nothing more than a clear POV pushing vendetta. I strongly encourage you to take a step back before you make any further comments, because making another comment that's so clearly trying to right what you see as a "great wrong" in the world in this topic area is virtually certainly going to get you taken to arbitration enforcement for sanctions. If you can't contribute to the area based solely on policies and guidelines, even if you disagree with the result they push us towards, then you need to just not contribute to that discussion. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 06:39, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- That reminder was over six months ago, and I wasn't aware of the policies at the time especially since I was a newbie. Calling my comment a
clear POV pushing vendetta
is completely unjustified. Per your request, I'll stop commenting on that page move, but It'll be clear that I am and will be retaining my opinion. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 06:48, 20 June 2025 (UTC)- I was mostly commenting on your "Zionist state" comment and the fact you seemingly didn't even consider the COMMONNAME guidelines since your statement, while bolding the oppose !vote, did more to actually support it being changed to that because as you say many sources are using that name. I wrote this up before you modified your comment to no longer call Israel the "Zionist state" (while using Iran's name). We all have our personal opinions on topics across the encyclopedia - but doing things like calling them the "Zionist state" doesn't do anything but inflame people. Hence I'm just recommending that you choose your words carefully and be very careful that you understand the policies before claiming that they don't apply. I personally hate taking people to AE (and as far as I recall I've only ever opened a report there once, but the person it was against was very, very horrible) - so even if you were to go completely ballistic or something I wouldn't be the one to take you virtually certainly. I just hate seeing people who are contributing in good faith (but letting their POV show through) taken there if it can be avoided - and the Arab-Israeli conflict is one of the "most" contentious of the CTOPS, with reports on AE almost weekly for some editor or another.I wish last night with me being tired I had worded this reminder better, because reading it over it seems very blunt and I didn't intend to get you out of the discussion at all. I value different viewpoints being there because that's the only way we can reliably call each other out when our irl POVs are showing through. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 17:00, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sure, but why did you silence my comment? Especially when it's unexplained? Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 17:44, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- I have the beta edit conflict resolution tool enabled. It gave me an edit conflict when I submitted the edits to resolve the list gaps. I had gone through and tried to make sure that there were no comments I was inadvertently removing with the edit, but the way it displays can be confusing with complex edits to lists like this. For example, it displayed about 8 different "differences" between the version I submitted and the other version, all of which were just changing the colon to the asterisk and not editing the comment. It wasn't intentional at all. Had it shown me that my edit was going to remove a comment that had been made in the meantime, I would've just backed out and started it over. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 17:55, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, that was why you removed my comment unintentionally. Thanks for the reply. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:28, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

About the portrait in Salman of Saudi Arabia
[edit]I’m not exactly sure what the issue is, but the Saudi Press Agency titled the portrait on the Saudi Photos platform (its official photo archive) "Official Portrait of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud".
And here is the link to the portrait on the official platform of the Saudi Press Agency.
I believe it should be in the Salman of Saudi Arabia article. If there’s any issue with it, please let me know so I can fix it.
Thank you. ARABCREATOR7 (talk) 08:09, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- I looked at the source of the image, not that link. Plus, it didn't really look that much like his current self, so I found it odd. Apologies, and I'll add it back now. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 15:11, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Just a note
