- ... that Amad Traoré became the first player born in 2002 to score in the Serie A? Source: Sky Sport

@Nehme1499:, new enough, long enough, interesting enough. Source is not in English so AGF there. Earwig doesn't detect any copyvios and QPQ not needed. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:24, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
Transfer to Man Utd
[edit]Is there any proof that the transfer has been completed? All I can see is that there it's an agreement that will be completed at a later date / in January, not that he will become a United player on the stroke of midnight of the New Year. Spike 'em (talk) 08:13, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- I’m with you. There is no evidence he has been awarded a work permit, signed a contract or passed a medical yet. He’s not a United player until United say he is. – PeeJay 14:57, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed, wait until the deal is announced. The transfer window only opened 12 hours ago, he's got the whole of January to possibly sign. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:09, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Does it matter than the official Man Utd site have announced that a deal has been reached? Paul Vaurie (talk) 19:56, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- "He will join United at a later date, subject to medical, personal terms and work permit". Nehme1499 (talk) 20:35, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Anyway, he left for Manchester today. He should be officially announced in the next few days. Nehme1499 (talk) 20:40, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Paul Vaurie: Did you miss the fact that January is 31 days long? Just because January has started doesn't mean he's automatically a United player on 1 Jan. – PeeJay 23:10, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Especially as the transfer window didn't open until 2 January, so there is no legal way for him to have signed on that date..... Joseph2302 (talk) 00:12, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Not really the point I was making, but sure... – PeeJay 01:44, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Scources have confirmed he has moved to Man U Anonymoususertd2008 (talk) 22:56, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Wait for United to actually announce him (press conference, passing the medical, shirt number, these kinds of things). Nehme1499 (talk) 23:29, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- If sources have confirmed it, you wouldn't mind posting them here so we can verify that... – PeeJay 22:09, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

[edit]The club says he prefers to go by Amad, should we change the 'Diallo's on the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:A420:AD10:B4FD:8001:479D:B2D (talk) 20:24, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Dele Alli also prefers to go by his first name, yet we use "Alli" in the article. Nehme1499 (talk) 20:32, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
"formerly known as"
[edit]Is this still necessary in the lead: it is not his birth name and all the coverage now uses his correct name. I have no problem with the former name being mentioned in the Early / Personal life sections, but if not now, there will be a time soon when his former name will just be a footnote in his life story. Spike 'em (talk) 19:29, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Spike 'em: I have no issue in removing it from the lead. Nehme1499 (talk) 20:03, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Fake biography details?
[edit]He emigrated to Europe using false documents, there is no certainty any of the details given in the biography is correct, for example, his date of birth and how old he is. Can we therefore say things like "the tournament's top goalscorer as the youngest on the field" when he could be much older? Hzh (talk) 15:17, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t think his date of birth is questioned. We go by what reliable sources say, not assumptions. Nehme1499 15:26, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- There are good reasons to question it because what's stated happened before the deceit was discovered. Stating things like he "became the first player born in 2002 to score in the Italian top flight" is at best dubious, when the documents he used are false. The statements stated in the sources used therefore were not based reliable information (arguing about RS is therefore irrelevant). The article needs to be rewritten because the alleged "facts" may not be true. Hzh (talk) 15:36, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- The Premier League still lists his date of birth as 11 July 2002. Nehme1499 15:45, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Has PL investigated the issue or did it just rely on supplied information that may be false? The PL is not directly involved in this issue (the Italians were), I don't think it's something the PL would bother checking. What's given in their website could just be repeated false information. Hzh (talk) 15:53, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe. But we don’t make edits based on what “could be”. Nehme1499 16:10, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- We can adjust wording not to state something as fact, rather we attribute a statement to a source. We should not use wikivoice to say things that are based on uncertain information (the sources used for the examples I gave did not know that there was deceit involved). Hzh (talk) 16:41, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Try to gain concensus at WT:FOOTY first. I personally don't see the need of changing the wording. Nehme1499 20:45, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- This issue has got nothing to do with WT:FOOTY, it's a basic question about accuracy and verifiability since the details may be based on false documents. Hzh (talk) 23:09, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
