The Wikimedia Foundation has released its latest report card for the movement's hundreds of sites. The WMF has published statistics about the sites since 2009, but only recently have these been expanded in scope and depth to provide a rich source of data for investigating the movement and the world it serves. Turnip Cake

Hello, if you understand what this is as a food, calling it a "Turnip" cake is a misnomer. It isn't made with turnips at all, but the large white daikon radish. I only wanted to clearify things. This week, we felt the world tremble in the presence of WikiProject Earthquakes. The project was started in May 2008 to deal with articles about earthquakes, aftershocks, seismology, seismologists, plate tectonics, and related articles. While the project has seen success building 14 Featured Articles, one A-class Article, and 21 Good Articles, a fairly heavy workload remains, with a relative WikiWork rating of 4.94. RE: Negritude

Please do not delete new info re Negritude. I wrote several books on the subject and knew Senghor, Cesaire and Damas intimately. Because I'm new to this I did not change the part about "Negrerie", which only means, "Les choses qui concernent les Negres." What is said about Negreirie is not correct but it's inocuous. It is minor stuff, but it has been persistent for the last three days... I think they'll grant the PC1 protection. That will allow the IPs to make the edits, but no-one will see them unless they are approved. I have seen some IPs make semi-productive edits to the article, and didn't want to lock them out. I mentioned www.reviewbol.com, which is a movie review aggregator site, it has reviews from timesofindia, ndtv, ibnlive so how can you claim its unreliable? on what basis? what logic?

About an edit summary

Hi, Tolly4bolly. Regarding this edit: While it was reasonable to revert since there's no compelling reason for that to be in the infobox, the boilerplate in your edit summary left something to be desired because the content in question was neither unsourced nor negative. I don't use Huggle and have no idea what options it provides, but a manual undo with custom summary might be a better choice in such a context. Just a thought—no big deal. Happy editing! Turban Cowboy revert

Hello. I noticed that earlier today, you reverted an edit to Turban Cowboy. I understand that you're fighting vandalism, but that was a mistake. The removed section was an unsourced and speculative (i.e. a conspiracy theory) that attemped to link the Boston Marathon bombing to an episode of The Family Guy. Op-ed: How do we fix RfA inactivity?

The RfA process is widely discussed here on the English Wikipedia and it has been well documented that less and less new Requests for adminship are being filed. There are an abundance of bytes devoted to the discussion and analysis of this situation and plenty of hands have been wrung over the matter. Various RfCs have attempted to find a way to fix the problem. Many proposals have been made offering solutions, some more potentially drastic than others, with the goal of making the changes necessary to kick–start RfA back into regular action. However, Wikipedia operates based on consensus and, to this point, there are have simply been too many disagreeing views for us to reach a consensus on how to increase RfA activity.

I recently visited Wikipedia, and it said I had a message, so I clicked and it said I had made numerous destructive edits to the page parsley, which you fixed. I have not made any edits to the page. I don't think I've even visited the parsley page. Content Deletion

Hi, I am a new user to Wikipedia and I have just updated couple of pages. I am adding a content which is totally related to pages I have updated. E.g. I tried to add main hoon na movie songs link for Wikipedia users. Dont you think users will be benefited by this? I can see other websites links like bollywoodhungama.com, they have added related content on wikipedia. and I am just trying to do the same. I am not doing any kinda promotion or something but trying to help Wikipedia users to get more information about it. So could you please let me know what is the best possible way to link websites which are related to contents?

First of all welcome here. Secondly, you added spam links here (advertising lyrics website) and adding links are not appropriate here. Thanks for pointing that. They are spam links since they are advertising those sites. I've removed those links from the article. There are some editors who just add spam links to all the articles and those links stay quite long before getting removed and the same happened on that article. The phrase "ethically questionable" has no factual basis. http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/ethical defines ethical as "relating to beliefs about what is morally right and wrong" and "morally right". As both of these statements rely on the definition of "moral" http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/moral_1?q=moral defines "moral" as "relating to the standards of good or bad behaviour, fairness, honesty, etc. that each person believes in, rather than to laws" and "behaving in ways considered by most people to be correct and honest" - both of these definitions are subjective. Vandalism is not always so clear

The two examples of edits that I reviewed and approved which you cited as "clearly vandalism" may have been vandalism, but it was not clear enough to reject in either case. Moreover, the second of the two examples was an edit made by you. You seem to be asserting that I should not have approved your edit because you (so you say) vandalized the page. Something doesn't add up. Anyway, I will continue to reject _clear_ cases of vandalism and approve edits which are not so clear. M Carling 14:52, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Well, at least I consider them vandalism since that made page look different. I'm sure Cluebot/or any other editor who fights against vadalism would have reverted those if you haven't accepted. Anyway, everyone makes some mistake in wikipedia and I'm also sure I have also done that. Most of what I've been finding at 2013 Indian Premier League is pairs of changes, one reverting the other, in which case a reviewer is meant to accept them both. For a reviewer to reject an edit, it has to be a clear case of vandalism. That doesn't mean clear to someone who knows the subject and the article. It means clear to anyone. If in doubt, a reviewer should approve the edit and let someone revert it. Thanks for understanding. M Carling 18:45, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
