Rollback granted

Hi ScrabbleTiles. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Joyous! Noise! 17:15, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
Question from Hatem Taher Kandeel (09:59, 14 March 2025)
Hi I’m new to Wikipedia and want to learn how to create a page. --Hatem Taher Kandeel (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- To create a page, you create a draft and then submit it. You can create a draft by making an article with the Draft: prefix or in the sandbox. What are you creating the draft about? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 10:05, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

QEnigma talk 16:41, 14 March 2025 (UTC)Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Question from Thimbleby1 (22:02, 15 March 2025)
Hi, I was just reading the Wikipedia entry for Thimbleby, North Yorkshire and noticed that reference 1, UK Census, appears to confuse Thimbleby North Yorkshire with Thimbleby Lincolnshire. Small point I know, but hopefully someone can change this to provide the correct information. --Thimbleby1 (talk) 22:02, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there, you can change this if you want as the page has no protection. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 16:34, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

S5A-0043🚎(Leave a message here) 09:14, 16 March 2025 (UTC)You refer to a maintenance template...
being removed, at this IP address's Talk page—could you please clarify (here), the template about which you wrote? We see no template that has been removed, other than ones we ourselves placed and removed (because of editorial improvements to the article redering them obsolete), or otherwise ones likewise no longer applicable (for other reasons). Can you clarify? 98.226.86.66 (talk) 16:37, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there. First of all, try to keep all conversations on one page as it’s less confusing. As to the edit, you were removing a copyright violation template, which I reinstated as you shouldn’t have been removing it. When you say “we”, are you working with the subject of the article for financial gain? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:51, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- No, we do not work for compensation. I work with students. I am retired professor, and retired logging editor here. 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:53, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- The removal of any template was inadvertent, there is no issue regarding the addition of COPYVIO material (or risk of it happening again)—please self-revert your last edit: you removed an hour of conscientious, serious, WP:VERIFY and quality directed editing! 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:52, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry about removing the edits, it was my mistake. You have removed the templates twice now though, it doesn’t appear inadvertent to me. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 18:54, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have reinstated the edits you made. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 18:54, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. We persist in arguing that the tag that was reintroduced is unnecessary, but we leave that, and the article to you. Please do a diff, and see the difference that our attention made to the promotional morass that was present before. 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:56, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I told the IP on my talk page that the issue is resolved now, and an admin Revision Deleted the copyright infringing version 3 hours ago, but I did not notice, and the Copyvio template should have removed by then, but I thought no admin saw it yet, so I kept on adding it back unintentionally. I believe this was the conflict that arised. Myrealnamm (💬Let's talk · 📜My work) 20:12, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Usernamegivet (15:27, 23 March 2025)
Hi I was actually interested in adding a new word to the English language it's already been up for adds on the urban dictionary and I have full meaning along with process on the word. --Usernamegivet (talk) 15:27, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there, what word were you considering adding? Just because it is on the urban dictionary doesn’t necessarily mean it is appropriate for an encyclopedia. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 15:42, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
Individuals versus company names
Hi - I see you've been reporting some accounts to UAA and having the reports rejected. Perhaps you've misunderstood the situation with regards to promotional usernames. Let's say I start a YouTube channel called 'Girth Summit', where I create content which advertises my exclusive range of comfy slippers. My Wikipedia username matches that YouTube account, but it's not a violation of our username policy, because Girth Summit is one individual person's online pseudonym. Sure, I can't plaster my Wikipedia userpage with adverts for Girth Summit-branded slippers, and if I do that it should be deleted per G11 and/or U5, but I'm not a candidate for a UAA report because my username represents an individual person. Now, if I start a company called Summit Slippers Ltd, a username along the lines of 'Summit Slippers' would be blockable, but even 'Girth at Summit Slippers' would be allowable, because it identifies an individual (in the same was that 'Joe at Coca Cola Inc' would be fine).
In short, Wikipedia username = YouTube channel is not necessarily a UPOL violation, unless you can establish that the YouTube channel is named for a corporation rather than an individual. Since the vast majority of YouTubers are individuals, it's typically not a UAA issue. Does that make sense? Girth Summit (blether) 16:54, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Ok yes, that does make sense. Sorry about the misunderstanding. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 16:58, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- No worries - feel free to hit me up if I'm around and you want a second opinion. Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 17:13, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Woaheditor21 on Bartley Green School (13:38, 28 March 2025)
My information I edited on the wikipedia article in relation to Bartley Green School was all completely correct --Woaheditor21 (talk) 13:38, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there, the reason it was reverted is because it didn’t contain any citations. If you want to know more about citations, then read WP:REFB. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 14:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
Use of AI
Hello I am Karena , you recently warned me about the sue of AI . I checked before using it that it can be used but as per Wikipedia's policies . I researched and found out that the use of AI isn't completely prohibited please tell me should I leave it's use completely and also how you and others can identify that I HAVE USED A LANGUAGE MODEL . Karena John (talk) 08:46, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there and thank you for your message. I am aware that AI use is not prohibited on Wikipedia. This is because it is a helpful research tool and when used correctly, can be beneficial. However, the edits that you made I was worried about was when you were copying large chunks of AI generated text without citing any sources. We always want sources to be used on Wikipedia but they are needed especially when AI is being used to generate text as AI can often hallucinate, leading to incorrect and made up output. As for how I know, there are many free AI checkers on the internet. The one I use is ZeroGPT as it often provides helpful and reliable responses. I hope this helps, ScrabbleTiles (talk) 10:25, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted

Hi ScrabbleTiles, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:28, 30 March 2025 (UTC)
