Ahmad Al-Sharaa birth date.

Hello, In a recent interview with Al-Arabiya, Ahmad Al-Sharaa himself has told Al-Arabiya roporter that he was born on 29th October, not July. Since youtube URL's are blocked here I'm not sure how to link it to you, but you can find the video linked in my sandbox on the Arabic Wiki. Photos from Syria

Hi

Is it possible to call Syrians to upload photos related about the fall of Assad regime (fall of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Damascus, Deraa)? Panam2014 (talk) 14:25, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

I will look into this, and ask some friends. But it can be a tricky one as most ordinary people would be hiding at home during such events, even the "day after" period can be stressful.

@Panam2014:, I could not find people who have such photos, but one friend of mine will be uploading photos somehow related to that (teared up Ba'athist flags and symbols and photos of Assad in public areas, celebratory events and protests, new flag and new administration symbols in public places)

Did you know why it ceased to release statments from Administration of Military Operations. I know in 8/10 December, the channel have organized Vox populi in Syrian streets to collect people's reactions about the fall of Assad. I have actually noticed people asking about it continuously lately on Syrian social media groups. In this article it says:

Since the fall of the regime last month, Syrian state television has remained silent, raising questions about the reasons. However, the Deputy Director General of the General Organization for Radio and Television, Mohammad al-Sukhni, stated that the channel will soon resume broadcasting from the heart of Damascus. He revealed that the new launch will be different in both form and content, aiming to keep up with recent events.

Sources reported that the television headquarters were looted on the night of the regime's collapse. Additionally, they mentioned that [new] Syrian authorities have received offers to restore the radio and television building, though the nature of these offers remains undisclosed.

I'm not familiar with that person, but in this case it is better to use information from SANA as it is the source of official news in Syria, they used Bassam Hussam al-Din. The name may have accidentally changed while taking the news from SANA itself.

• Should Muqdad Fatiha be renamed to Miqdad Fatiha? Sources tend to say Miqdad Fatiha more, but machine translation tends to say Muqdad Fatiha more.
• How should "بلال المصاطفة المقداد" be transliterated?
• How should "محمود جنيد" be transliterated?
• How should "ملحم الحكيم" be transliterated?

I would like to bring to your attention that this is a newly created rendition of the well-known piece "Sūriyā yā ḥabībati", inspired by the fall of the Ba'athist regime. The original can be found here. It was written in the aftermath of the October war. (Note that this attached version replaces the original "Ba'ath" reference with "Victory".

A version inspired by the Syrian revolution was also made years ago, you can find that version, together with some information about the original one here.

The version that you have attached, and the revolution one, are kind of a remake and are not widely known as the original. I suggest you work on the original instead, and I can help with that.

I also suggest you create a draft (see Wikipedia:Drafts), that way editing could be easier for you and anyone who wants to help.

It says here that according to decree No. 158 of 1945 published in the national gazette states that:

The emblem of the Syrian Republic consists of an Arab shield with three stars in the center, the stars of the Syrian flag. Embracing the shield is an eagle, inspired by Arab history, as it was the banner of the Quraysh during the pre-Islamic era and the banner of Khalid ibn al-Walid when he conquered Damascus. Three lines surround the shield, and at the bottom are two ears of wheat, symbolizing the country's first harvest and its agricultural heritage. The eagle grasps in its talons a ribbon on which is written in Kufic script "Syrian Republic".

According to that same website, and this too.. After Syria left the United Arab Republic, legislative decree No. 2 of 1961 states:

1- The national flag of the Syrian Arab Republic is the flag of the Syrian Republic.

2- The emblem of the Syrian Arab Republic is the emblem of the Syrian Republic.

In here it says that according to decree No. 394 of 1969:

Looking at money or documents from that period did not help in terms of color, and I tried to check the actual text of the laws from government websites nd none are working, I tried asking friends for books or any publications that may include those laws and I am still awaiting an answer.

But, there are also a golden variant, from a book edited in 1971. So it the the proof that the book is not wrong, because it is unlickely that it have given the 1980 design 9 years earlier.

Here, we can see that in 1962, only the name of the country have changed.

Actually I just entered the cited article by clicking on the original link, then copied the link from the address bar from the browser. I am not sure why when doing that it does not give me the same link I entered from, but I was using Safari on a phone for that edit so the browser may have something to do with it.

I took a look at it at made some minor edits, I think it is good enough at this stage. It is better to expand the activity during the civil war if information is available. But nonetheless, I believe it is already good enough to be moved to the mainspace.
