@Neveselbert: Can you please explain why you've reverted all my edits on that article? Note these weren't vandalism, since they were marked as a RedWarn. They were mistakes. If you think they were vandalism, please carefully look at the revisions. If you're saying in the recent revert revision caption "they are not the same links", what do you mean by that? Hi PEPSI697, I made sure to mark my revert as one of a good-faith edit, so, despite the use of RedWarn, there was no intention on my part to imply your edits were made in anything other than good faith. I apologise if it came across any other way. As for the revert itself, I undid it because they're not necessarily equivalent links, even though they target the same page. It's entirely possible 8 May 1945 might be retargeted sometime in the future, even if just to a section to Victory in Europe Day, so I think linking both can be helpful. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 16:43, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
No worries! Now I understand that 8 May 1945 may be retargeted in the future. I understand that you and lots of other contributors are just trying to protect Wikipedia and revert good faith edits, vandalism, mistakes or remove content that doesn't have a reliable source. I just wanted to make sure because I was feeling a little bit suspicious about how you came across, but I knew that was never your intention or the case. Because I know that attacking other contributors violate Wikipedia's policy and could result of a discussion at ANI or result being blocked from editing on Wikipedia, which I previously said, was never your intention. Wikipedia makes it very possible for every editors on Wikipedia to be safe and welcomed (this isn't criticism, it's just me telling what I know about Wikipedia's policy) Please keep protecting Wikipedia and enjoy yourself! Election box template changes

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like your change to {{Election box winning candidate with party link}} is generating lint errors. For example {{1941 Waitemata by-election}} is now outputting '''''' in the first row of the "±%" column, which renders as '. The problem appears the removal of the space between '''{{{change}}} and ''' in '''{{{change}}} '''. OJ Simpson main article "In popular culture" section needs updating

On the OJ article bio, the section in the "In popular culture" section needs updating: "In 2018, it was announced Boris Kodjoe would portray Simpson in a film titled Nicole & O.J. The film was never completed." The film has been retitled The Juice and will be released in 2025, so it is no longer accurate to say the film was never completed. 92.17.197.110 (talk) 21:54, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Creating new article: Premiership of Lord Liverpool

@Neveselbert Please don’t mind me saying this, but, can we reserve the page “Premiership of Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool” to turn it into a actual article about the events that happened and policies that were implemented during the premiership of Lord Liverpool? I have tried to create a new article for this particular topic, but since I’m using a mobile device, I struggle bit to be accommodated to this kind of system. But the main problem is that there numerous “redirects” to the main article at Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool so it is difficult already to get a grip on what article to create. Also if the before mentioned “redirect” is turned to a new article, should we start a discussion beforehand to talk about an official title for the article as well? Thank you. Hi Altonydean. You should be able to create a draft at Draft:Premiership of Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool, which can then replace the redirect once the draft is complete. The other redirects are already categorised as {{R avoided double redirect}} to Premiership of Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool, so when the draft is complete, they can be retargeted to the new article. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 19:09, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Also want to ask one more question, when texts from a mother article is copied and pasted on a new article should it be paraphrased or rewritten in order to accommodate into a new version of the same article as well? @Altonydean: you don't have to, just be sure to follow the instructions at WP:COPYWITHIN when doing so. As for your draft, I think you're off to a good start, although if you're looking for more in-depth feedback, I'd give Tim O'Doherty a shout; he has a great amount of experience in drafting articles in this topic area. @Neveselbert I have made some progress at the draft page for the Premiership of Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool and there is a lot of significant editing to be done. Now that the article is live, Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool § Premiership (1812–1827) needs cutting down significantly, similar to how John Major was split into Premiership of John Major. I'm not sure whether to remove the subsections myself as I haven't got round to reading the entire new article, so do you think you could have a look to see that all relevant material is included in Premiership of Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool, in order for the section to be trimmed down? Unexpected changes

@Neveselbert I admire your abilities and your willingness to help in creating the article for Lord Liverpool Premiership article. Since which I hold in the highest of regard and respect for your advice. But following your recent changes to the main article about Lord Liverpool, which saw countless amounts of content removed just to include it in the premiership section isn’t how I envisioned you would made the improvements. And also, since I specifically didn’t understood what kind of changes you proposed (I was off due to some medication) therefore I think that I would need to revert the edit you made and ask another or several editors about this particular kind of process. @Altonydean: thank you for your kind words. Regarding the recent edits, the content removed from the main article was already included verbatim in the premiership article, making it duplicative. According to WP:ANOTHER, this process is recommended to avoid redundancy. Now that the content has been restored, it ought to be significantly cut down in line with WP:SYNC to maintain proper synchronisation between the articles. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 19:00, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
I understand @Neveselbert. But these days I’m taking a certain serious medication for an illness of mine and I won’t be able to edit as frequently anymore. But however, I do appreciate your efforts and your help is as always highly valued by me and as well as the wider Wikipedia community. I think, that since the new article for Lord Liverpool has the same information about his premiership, we should expand the content in the new article instead of cutting down the original content. Like, we can expand and write additional information about events and policies that happened and were implemented during his tenure as prime minister that is not mentioned in the original article. Also @Neveselbert can you re-include more content on the original page? It severely lacks information on certain important topics and areas of history significance. At least include three paragraphs or more paragraphs about sections like on economic policy, liberal policy or dissent and repression perhaps? Adding more content to the parent article at this stage might lead to unnecessary duplication and confusion. Once the child article is more detailed, we can then summarise and include the most relevant information in the parent article. @Altonydean: I understand, and I appreciate your continued efforts despite your current circumstances. I've removed the duplicative content from the main article and replaced each section with the most relevant paragraphs excerpted from the premiership article using {{Excerpt#Replacing summary section with excerpt of child article}}. This is a temporary solution until we can better summarise these topics in the main article without duplicating content. We can certainly discuss expanding the premiership article further, but for now, this ensures clarity and avoids redundancy. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 20:35, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
Ok @Neveselbert but please do not mind me saying this, I think we need a bit more expansion on the original page. I mean like two paragraphs is not enough to summarise any of the important measures Lord Liverpool took in terms of economic or social policy initiatives. I think it needs three more detailed or in-depth information other than simple reductions. Foreign affairs are also important and needs more detail as of the current revision. But I always do support new ideas and proposals, but this seems a bit unprecedented due to the fact that I have previously stated that I would return to editing after my brief interval of rest so I can expand the new article on premiership. Again, I do wholeheartedly agree with many of your points and although at least consider my suggestion to expand a bit on the suggested article sections in the main Lord Liverpool article. Shinzo Abe

The short description for Grover Cleveland includes both his terms of office, so why can't the short description for Abe? WP:SHORTDESCRIPTION merely states that most descriptions are very short. On second thought, having read WP:SDDATES, it recommends Period in office most important as the criterion, which can be interpreted as simply including the period in office "most important", which in Abe's case is his latter term. I saw you uploaded this image from trumanlibrary.gov to Commons with a very detailed full caption. Can you tell me if the image in this link can be uploaded to Commons? If so, what is the exact image copyright tag? A similar example is the photo in this link, which was also uploaded to Commons with the copyright tag PD-USGov, but I'm not sure if this is correct or not. You say there is no exception for "Dame" listed at MOS:PREFIX. You seem to be missing The honorific titles Sir, Dame, Lord and Lady are included in the initial reference and infobox heading for the subject of a biographical article, but are optional after that. I wonder if the murder article should be detailed more as to describe how the manner of it took place; it obviously does not need to be excessive but it is merely a suggestion. The phrase "suspect" is odd placed especially as the attacker did not dispute that he was the one responsible. It is unclear if Amess died quick or was left unconscious in the minutes after the attack but later accounts do suggest he was sadly already gone when paramedics reached him. 80.45.146.138 (talk) 21:26, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

The succession boxes at the bottom of pages never have refs, which needlessly clutter a navigational tool. You may disagree whether "oldest living governor" should be included, but the need for a specific citation is obviated by WP:CALC (from the birth and death dates of governors which are appropriately cited on their respective pages), which is why this statistic has been present on many pages for years. The warning on my page was unnecessary, and not appreciated; refrain from such behavior in the future, please. Davey2116 (talk) 20:16, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

I should have accurately described the content as original research, meaning it's a synthesis of published material that implies a conclusion not clearly stated by the sources. Also, the topic of the oldest living president has been previously discussed, and consensus was to remove it from these articles. Margaret Thatcher post-nominal letters

I'm still for removing the note containing Thatcher's post-nominal titles [1] While you're correct that they're in a note, I would argue that it's still a holdover from when they were used in leads, just a special case due to the quantity of titles. In addition, they are all present in the infobox already, so an additional note that the reader has to click or scroll for is redundant and not consistently used across other articles. Marita Camacho Quirós

Hello Neveselbert. I noticed that you removed my addition of Marita Camacho Quirós to the centenarians list of politicians and civil servants, under the argument that she's neither of those. However, her article has a category that says "National Liberation Party (Costa Rica) politicians", meaning she has some political affiliation with that party. Also, the same article explains that as First Lady of Costa Rica, she traveled with her husband, the President of Costa Rica, to other countries, and met with several political figures, so she was involved with politics at some level. Point is, I think she should be added back, but if you still disagree, that's fine. Petrandreev13 (talk) 09:10, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi Petrandreev13, thanks for your message. Since the centenarian lists are sorted by career, the standard for inclusion in the politicians and civil servants section is that the person must have held elected office, a formal government role or civil service position in their own right. I couldn't find any reliable sources describing her as having held such a position herself.
Given that, I think her inclusion in that particular list would be a stretch. List of centenarians (miscellaneous) might be a more appropriate home, as it includes centenarians who are notable but don't clearly fall into the other career-based categories. Category State funerals

Hello! You reverted my addition of the State funerals category to the Death and state funeral of Jimmy Carter, stating that it is "already in subcat". I'm not sure what that means though. Jimmy Carter's funeral article does not appear anywhere on Category:State funerals, which is where I'd like it to be listed.

I see that there is a subcat of "State funerals by country" in the category, but that subcat requires the person searching for an article to know what country the person's state funeral was held in. What happens when the person searching only knows the name of the person but not their country? If I'm missing something here, please let me know. Thank you! I reverted your addition because Death and state funeral of Jimmy Carter is already included in the subcategory Category:State funerals in the United States, which is itself a subcategory of Category:State funerals. Per WP:CAT, articles are generally not placed in both a category and its subcategory unless the subcategory is non-diffusing. Governorate of the Vatican City State

It is true that by law, the pope is the head of state and government of Vatican City, however, he has the power to delegate his governing executive power of the country to the President of the Governorate of Vatican City. She is the de facto head of government. There is precedent for a de facto head of government being included in this list with Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar. All popes since the creation of the Vatican City State have delegated their governing power to the head of government. Not only this, but on other wikipedia pages such as List of current heads of state and government and list of current state leaders by date of assumption of office list sister Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate, as head of government. Hi JMendoza04, I see where you're coming from regarding de facto heads of government. I moved Petrini to the List of elected and appointed female deputy heads of government article simply to keep things consistent with how the female prime ministers of Peru are treated. Although I want to clarify that the role of head of government itself is delegated to Petrini and not just the responsibilities of head go government, so I would think makes her proper head of government by the appointment of the absolute monarch (pope). I take your point, though from what I understand, while the pope delegates executive authority to the President of the Governorate, he remains the legal head of government under Vatican law. @JMendoza04: I take the point about Aung San Suu Kyi, though I'd say her case was quite exceptional. She was widely recognised both domestically and internationally as the true head of government, in a context where the de jure president was effectively ceremonial. That's different from Vatican City, where the pope remains the legal and central governing authority, and the President of the Governorate acts under his delegated power rather than replacing him. So for now, I think it makes sense to treat Petrini as a deputy, in line with how similar delegated roles are handled elsewhere. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 17:46, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
I do understand this about Aung San Suu Kyi however, I know that popes have not taken on any governing role in Vatican City because they choose to focus more on the governing of the church. I would say that it is also the case in Vatican City that Petrini and her predecessors have acted as sole head of government while the popes have acted more as a ceremonial head of state similar to a constitutional monarchy. Perhaps it would be possible to include her in list of elected and appointed female heads of state and government but to format her space the same way as Aung San Suu Kyi? @JMendoza04: I agree it's worth clarifying Petrini's role. That said, I'd hesitate to equate the pope with a ceremonial head of state. Even if he delegates daily governance, he remains the legal and supreme executive authority in both state and church. Unlike Aung San Suu Kyi's case, where the de jure head was symbolic and she displaced them in practice, Petrini operates under explicit delegation and does not replace the pope in either capacity. If there's consensus later on for a separate note or formatting similar to Aung San Suu Kyi's entry, I'm open to that discussion, but for now I think her inclusion in the deputy heads of government article remains the most consistent approach. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 21:18, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Yes I think that is a good idea. Maybe she could be labeled as "delegated head of government?" The reason I am so persistent is because she is more powerful than a Peruvian or Mozambican prime minister. Under those systems, the president is also head of state and government, like the pope, but only some responsibilities are delegated to the prime ministers. In Vatican City, full governing authority is delegated. She truly acts as the head of government. Maybe delegated head of government would be sufficient to describe she does not have full constitutional recognition as head of government, but for all intents and purposes, acts as the head of government. @JMendoza04: But that's the point: they're not heads of government either. In Vatican City, the Pope holds that role in full, just as the presidents do in Peru and Mozambique. I just wanted to reiterate my apologies, I definitely did not mean to cause any offence with the Richie Sunak redirect. I have seen that you had once taken part in a discussion on the adverse effects of circumcision on sexual pleasure.

Just in case you are interested, I wanted to inform you that this discussion is now on again, as the article circumcision in my view inappropriately ignores the conflicting studies that show negative effects.
