February 2024 WikiProject Unreferenced articles backlog drive – award

[edit]

Citation Barnstar

This award is given in recognition to Ghosts of Europa for collecting more than 5 points during the WikiProject Unreferenced articles's FEB24 backlog drive. Your contributions played a crucial role in sourcing 14,300 unsourced articles during the drive. Thank you so much for participating and helping to reduce the backlog! – – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:56, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for engaging in Book of Mormon articlespace articletalkspace

[edit]

Your presence in those spaces is greatly appreciated. I wish more people would join. jps (talk) 16:53, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I appreciate you highlighting these issues and pushing back against poor sourcing, even if we disagree a bit on where the line is.
These discussions have also encouraged me to examine our coverage of non-LDS Christianity, Greek myths, etc for comparisons, and I've found a ton of other things we should clean up. Honestly, I think a lot of Greek myths are in worse shape than LDS topics. So much content is sourced to, like, Ovid. Definitely not the same situation (I doubt many believers in Zeus are involved!), but I might tackle that as a future project. Ghosts of Europa (talk) 18:17, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle
The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle

Hey Ghosts of Europa, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs).
