Question from DomainHertogh (13:15, 31 May 2025)
Hi there. I want to delete a draft article I created because I realise there is another article alreadyt on this topic. Please confirm how to delete https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Martino_sandwich&oldid=1293222502 Thanks you --DomainHertogh (talk) 13:15, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- DomainHertogh Good day. I have moved your article to draft space. (Btw the article does not meet the notability guidlines, as the sources you provide are not reliable and also it needs more independent, reliable sources to meet the GNG guidelines.) You can just leave the article in the draft page and the article will be deleted after 6 months if no editor edits the page. Stay safe. Cassiopeia talk 00:12, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
Question from Adventure.Education (19:51, 1 June 2025)
Hello, I have lost my previous login name, so I am starting over with a new user name. I am looking for help to create a new page nad hope you have advice for assisting me in making a new contribution. --Adventure.Education (talk) 19:51, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Adventure.Education Good day. In order for a subject to warrant a page in the main space of Wikipedia, it must fulfill the criteria outlined in the Wikipedia guideline on notability, specifically the General Notability Guideline (WP:GNG).
- GNG is defined as the subject must fulfill specific criteria to demonstrate significant coverage from independent and reliable sources. These sources should provide in-depth discussions about the subject rather than merely offering passing mentions. This requirement is essential for verification, which is a core policy of Wikipedia. If a source is affiliated/associated/connected with the subject—such as the subject's marketing team, company, social media platforms, information in interviews of the subject or any self-published information—this indicates a lack of independence. Consequently, such sources cannot be utilized to satisfy the notability guidelines. Sources originating from educational institutions, government entities, foundations, social media platforms, and private companies are regarded as unreliable. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources.
- I recommend that you (1) finish the WP:TWA program first to understand some of the fundamental guidelines of Wikipedia and then (2) read WP:Your first article and adhere to the provided instructions before beginning the creation of an article. Let me know if you have further question as I am here to help. Stay safe. Cassiopeia talk 01:49, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- HI Cassiopeia, I appreciate and have taken your advice and worked on an article in my sandbox. Is that something you can look at or I can share with you for some advice? I put a lot of work into this today and I find that I work best with a little feedback as I learn more about how to contribute. Adventure.Education (talk) 03:21, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Adventure.Education I can verify the sources provided as they are from books (I have no access to the books) for such I cant verify if the subject is notable as per Wikipedia guidlines. See comments below
- (1) You need to provide "inline citation" on every info provided including each line of "Colleges in the United States with Outdoor Orientation Program" section. For sources from the web and books, pls ::::use the "horizontal format of Template:Cite web and Template:Cite book respectively. Once you have done that then they will appear on the "Reference" section.
- (2) No external links on body texts - examples: (www.aee.org) and (https://fop.fas.harvard.edu/history). Please remove them.
- (3) You need to have a "WP:Lead Section (intro) where the article name should be the first few words of the lead section in bold.
- (4) No bold in body text such as "Challenging Activities:" and others
- (5) You might want to use sub-sub section by adding additional "=" (equal sign) on both ends of the previous sub section to create sub-sub section.
- (6) You might want to rephase some of the body texts as they appear a little "promotional" feel such as " These studies have provided valuable insights into..." , "The shared experience of contributing to a community or cause serves as the primary catalyst for group formation, personal growth, and orientation to the new environment" . You need to write all content in neutral point of view - please read WP:NPOV.
- (7) You might want to shorten the whole article to be a little more concise.
- (8) please note that all edu, institution, gov, private companies, social media and personal websites can NOT be used to contribute to WP:GNG requirements as they are considered not reliable sources.
- (9) Please move the article in draft space. - pls read WP:Your first article for instructions as sub-user page is not for writing an article.
- (10) I saw you have started TWA program. Please finish it as it will beneficial to you to understand Wikipedia guidelines. Cassiopeia talk 04:00, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am going to take a break tonight. I appreciate the "to do" list and will work on this more tomorrow. I know I am making some mistakes as I try to learn, but hope to be able to make some additions tomorrow. Adventure.Education (talk) 04:12, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from Imimna on Kim Hye-yoon (12:52, 3 June 2025)
How to edit on Awards list --Imimna (talk) 12:52, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Do you want to add a new award?
- Destinyokhiria (talk) 13:17, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Imimna Good day. To add/change a content (in this case an award list), you need to provide independent, reliable source (inline citation) from a major newspaper or a book for verication for this is the core Wikipedia policy. The editor who change/add the content needs to provide the indepdnent, reliable source - See WP:BURDEN. You can add inline citations using Template:Cite web for web sources and Template:Cite book for book sources, respectively. I strongly suggest you to take WP:TWA short program (30 mins) so that you would familiar with some of the fundamental Wikipedia guidelines which will serve you well in editing Wikipedia pages. Stay safe. Cassiopeia talk 22:49, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from Watipongen (06:46, 4 June 2025)
Hi. i'm trying my hand at writing an article can you let me know how do i make sure its impartial and neutral ? and how do i go about getting it reviewed ? --Watipongen (talk) 06:46, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Watipongen, Good day.
Sources originating from educational institutions, government entities, foundations, social media platforms, and private companies are regarded as unreliable. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources.
- n addition to adhering to GNG guidelines, the content must be written from a neutral point of view—see WP:NPOV. Furthermore, to avoid copyright violations, you should express the content in your own words based on the sources. I recommend that you read WP:Your first article and adhere to the provided instructions before beginning the creation of an article. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 07:09, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from Zoia222 (16:03, 6 June 2025)
Few days ago my submission on the article about Draft:Passat Ltd company was declined (3rd time) because of references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. I've already edited references as much as I could. So, please, explain to me why they are not qualified, because, from my perspective, a few of them definitely meet those 4 criteria. 1) "Global Diode-pumped Solid-state Laser (DPSSL) Market Competitive Landscape 2025-2032". www.statsndata.org. Retrieved 2025-05-16. This article is a detailed market intelligence report offering data, trends, and strategic insights into the DPSS Lasers industry's current state and future outlook. In-depth The website Stats N Data (statsndata.org) is a market‐research provider based in India, offering syndicated and custom research reports across industries. Reliable and Independent The Stats N Data report mentions Passat Ltd. as one of the key players in the Diode‑Pumped Solid‑State Laser (DPSSL) industry. Secondary Same with others: 2) "Global Subnanosecond Lasers Market Insights - Industry Share, Sales Projections, and Demand Outlook 2024-2030". qyresearch.in. Retrieved 2025-05-16. The article is a comprehensive analytical report offering detailed insights, data projections, segmentation, and competitive analysis for the global sub-nanosecond laser market through 2030. QYResearch is a well-known market research firm based in China, with a global presence. In this article, Passat Ltd. is listed among the major global manufacturers of sub-nanosecond lasers. 3) "Unveiling Faraday Rotators and Isolators Growth Patterns: CAGR Analysis and Forecasts 2025-2033". 4) Boucher, Marc (2009-11-12). "Details of Canadian Space Agency Research and Development Contracts Released". SpaceQ Media Inc. Retrieved 2025-05-16. Overall, I have more then a few references with independent, reliable, secondary and in-depth sources. Therefore, I want to know what exactly, in your opinion, doesn't meet the required criteria? --Zoia222 (talk) 16:03, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Zoia222 Thank you for your question. The reasons for the three declines were posted in your talk page and draft page in highlighted links. I have reviewed your article and declined the article to be accepted in Wikipedia main space. No single source provided is considered an independent, reliable source. To have a page in Wikipedia, the subject needs to have significant coverage from indepdnent reliable sources where by the sources talk about the subject in length and depth and not passing mentioned for verification. Please note that sources from major newspapers and books are usually considered reliable; however, sources from org, edu, private companies, institutions, marketing agencies, social media, and official websites, blogs, and personal web pages are considered unreliable and/or not independent. Stay safe. Cassiopeia talk 03:43, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
