the discussion on the beans and ingredients used in medieval times goes over several pages. Do you mean the part that mentions the medieval cookbook that shows a recipe for beans in that period a part that mentions the spices used in that period or how beans were prepared in general. I don't think it is necessary to always add a quote when talking about what was mentioned in general in a book as that can take a lot of room Sharnadd (talk) 11:05, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

All it requires is a quotation to back up the claim you're adding, i.e. They included a range of spices and onions in the dish. A sentence or two should suffice. Use ellipses if necessary to cut down on the wording. Barry Wom (talk) 11:50, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I'm Jean Castì. I'd like to propose a more than friendly agreement:

1. Restore the articles on Pablo Escobar; Supergirl 1984 film; Renee Montoya; Fulgencio Batista; Chaim Rumkowski; Carlos Lehder; etc. exactly as I left them, since both are rich in more than reliable sources and arguments.

2. You talk with that administrator to restore the articles I created previously: Óscar Golden; Assassination of Luis Carlos Galán; the Cinematic Development Company (Colombia) ; and Alias El Mexicano. 3. Restore the articles I've also modified, such as Gambit in other media; MCU characters from A to Z, etc., as I left them because, as I said, they also have their sources.

Japan in Sonic 3 article

HI Barry. I'm tagging the edit for contradictory. I don't my way is 100% the way to go, but I'm not sure how to organize this. I've found other sources, even Japanese ones, that just refer to Sonic 3 as an American production and have added it to the article. I know the Lumiere source is a respected database, but I'm not sure what to do on this information conflict. Any thoughts? Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:59, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno what the problem is. There's no shortage of sources stating that Marza Animation Planet co-produced the film. Marza is a Japanese company. Therefore Japan is a country of production.

Barry, while this appears to be common logic, the nationality of film is (and against what I had assumed), often more complicated than the production companies involved. See this Lumiere site, here which states "Defining the nationality of a film is a complex task. There are no widely accepted international or even European definitions of the criteria to determine the country of origin of a film. This is both a legal and a statistical problem. Different national records and the statistics on which they are based can show the same film as having a whole range of nationalities." So we can't just assume that one is correct based on our impression on how the nationality of a film is derived. Please consider this with ongoing discussion going forward. The source in question specifically says "there is no widely accepted international or even European definition of the critera to determine the origin of the film". You can say "I'm also sure they had no such difficulty with Sonic 3.", but per WP:BURDEN, you have no proof of this and as we've found sources stating different material with one having no more information than the other, we can't call one "true" per Wikipedia:Verifiability, "the threshold for inclusion is verifiability, not truth". Your revert on Life is Beautiful

Your recent revert of my additions are p(r)etty short-sighted, as both these films are indeed often mistaken for one another, (as their titles sound very similar), especially by people who don't know the films and most definitely in German-speaking countries – Both the films are named virtually the very same and are often mistaken (Das Leben ist schön vs Ist das Leben nicht schön).

Do we do hatnotes for clarification on cases like this? That sounds like something that would be appropriate for the German Wikipedia to clarify, but which would be obscure and confusing to most English Wikipedia readers in most cases. The only time I've ever seen a hatnote for a case like this is on No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! which has a hatnote leading to Kiss Him, Not Me due to the similarity of the titles in the source language- but this makes sense there because it's the source language, and also because in international anime communities, including English, the original title (or the hiragana abbreviation of it, e.g., KanoKari or Yagakimi), becomes a common colloquial shorthand for the series. I'm not sure it'd make a similar amount of sense to do this for the German titles of non-German works on the English Wikipedia, which would be relatively obscure outside Germany.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong here. I've actually never seen anyone discuss this issue at length nor acknowledgement of it on policy about disambiguation or redirecting, and I'm just personally interested in this now that I've seen someone bring it up. silviaASH (inquire within) 23:20, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert on 'List of IMAX Films'

Hi there Barry,

You have recently reverted an edit I made to the "List of IMAX Films" page. I had previously added Drake's 'NOKIA' music video under the "Films shot partially with IMAX 65mm cameras" section, but you undid the edit. While I understand that it is NOT a feature length film and that it is instead a music video, I think it should be the list as Adele's 'Hello' music video has been for a while (as it was also shot on IMAX 65mm). It does not specify films as feature films, so I believe that all films (short or feature length) shot on the format belong on this page. Therefore, I have added back my edit to the page.

(talk page stalker) What's this about? I've looked at the page history and it doesn't look like Barry broke 3RR, and in fact within about twenty minutes of his last edit to the article, he started the RfC. Templating a good faith editor with a vandalism warning seems a little excessive, especially when their last edit to the relevant article was two hours ago and they are by the looks of things handling the content dispute at hand quite appropriately. silviaASH (inquire within) 08:17, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

More understanding grammar and more facts that actually DO need to have

I edited the Noggin original broadcasting template putting the shows that aired in other territories outside of United States in a US sub-category for them to be in since they were actually originally made in those territories in not in the US. Some of these shows also aired the same time as they did in the US on Noggin so I don't see why that fact shouldn't be said.

I also forgot to tell you yesterday that Noggin copyright on the Noggin-branded Maisy and Connie the Cow videos said: © 2004 (2005 for one Connie the Cow video) Noggin LLC, Noggin and all related titles, characters and logos are trademarks of Viacom International Inc., and the two Noggin-branded Tiny Planets videos say they are based on the US-Noggin series, and they also mention on the backs: Noggin® is a trademark of Viacom International Inc. The template is only for programs produced by Noggin. All of the shows you added were acquisitions from other companies. It seems that Viacom owns the home media rights for Maisy and Connie the Cow in the US and used Noggin branding on the releases, but this doesn't indicate they produced the shows.
