Better Source?

[edit]

Pardon me, but this is a printed source, a published work and writer, direct from the official record release. The subject of this article himself was involved in the creation. What other "better source" is there? Longwing Seagull (talk) 13:23, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the reversion of my edits to Scarlett Johansson

[edit]

Hey there,

I recently added to the title of the image displayed on Scarlett Johansson's Wikipedia article, adding context that this photograph was taken at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Many other Wikipedia articles, including articles which I have made the same edit to, have the same feature. I noticed that you have reverted this change that I made to Scarlett Johansson's Wikipedia article once without approaching me beforehand or preceding the reversion, and that you reverted the change a second time, leaving a message on my own user talk page. I'd like to know which of the "policies and guidelines" I did not adhere to when I made that edit. I would also be interested in understanding how my edit was not viewed as "constructive". Chai Daghe (talk) 22:03, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I twice provided a link for you to have a quick look at. It explains that extraneous information in captions is not necessary, unless it's important for understanding the image's context. Being at Comic-Con is not important.
Also, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS for your reasoning. Seasider53 (talk) 22:06, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
I believe that, considering Johansson's roles in the Marvel universe, it would be important to provide context of her presence at the San Diego Comic-Con(s). This is so that viewers can grasp the fact that she belongs to that semantic field of acting and culture. As for WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, this is irrelevant to the point being made. If the presence of people of the same backgrounds (e.g. Marvel, DC, etc.) at the San Diego Comic-Con is sufficiently important for context to be added to their Wikipedia articles' photographs, despite the fact that you have stated that "Being at Comic-Con is not important", why is it that Johansson's presence is not important? Chai Daghe (talk) 22:47, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
As I have not received a response from you regarding this matter in over 6 days, I have gone ahead and reverted the change to Scarlett Johansson's article. The information I have provided, as I've said before, is factual and informative. It is objective and is not subject to personal bias. However, your approach to this situation has given off the impression that you are incorporating your own personal tastes and subjective view into the matter. I suggest that if you are going to continue asserting that certain objective edits be reverted as a result of your own personal tastes and ego, you do not belong to this society. Chai Daghe (talk) 19:35, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NOPERSONALATTACKS is a policy, and you are making a personal attack in your response to Seasider53. You should desist immediately from doing so. MarcGarver (talk) 07:19, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2025–26 Blackpool F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Andy Lyons.

Statue of Albert

Thanks for noticing my careless error. The IP that I reverted has been on a rampage of reverts with no explanation and no discussion. I acted too hastily. Sundayclose (talk) 00:22, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny Marr - Singles (as band member) & Albums (as Band member)

[edit]

How are these 2 tables of information not about Johnny Marr? Could the original info for Johnny Marr (as band member) be put back then or was that not about Johnny Marr (the solo artist in question here) either?

Very disappointed :-( but I accept the changes.

thanks

How do I get Singles (as band member) back into the discography? What do I have to do now? It doesn't look great now that it's missing. It's an important part of the discography and article.

Mysterious Cities of Gold

[edit]

You deleted my revision because I included no sources. I included no sources because what am I supposed to include? They are facts that I've observed myself. These blog posts can back me up - http://estebantaozia.blogspot.com/2013/03/la-fidelite-historique-ou-comment-les.html - and I was going to cite these, but Wikipedia gave me a big, scary warning about how if I do that, my editing privileges could get revoked. Please revert the page to my edit, you can add this citation if you find it suitable, or please tell me what kind of citations I can add! Cathy Vanilla 999 (talk) 17:50, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I could source back to the individual episodes, if you like. Would that satisfy you? Cathy Vanilla 999 (talk) 17:58, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:RS, for a blog is not one of these. Seasider53 (talk) 18:46, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I ask you what kind of sources I can include. Please tell me what I can do! If you would find it agreeable, the citations I can add could be the individual episodes in which the differences can be observed by any viewer. Cathy Vanilla 999 (talk) 19:05, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
