Image copyright (Draft:2001 Ducati 996R)
[edit]Hello,
You have included a large number of images in Draft:2001 Ducati 996R, each uploaded as your 'own work'. 'Own work' almost always means that you have actually taken the photograph or created the artistic design, and moreover that you own the copyright in them (meaning that they were not created as course of employment, etc.). While some of the images are straightforward photographs that you could indeed have taken (whether you did or not, I don't know, but you could have), others seem to be posters and other publicity material which appears to have come out of Ducati's or someone else's marketing department. Could you please clarify the source of these images, and confirm whether you are indeed the copyright owner, and whether you really intended to release the copyright into the public domain using a Creative Commons licence?
Thank you, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:41, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! Yes I did take most of the photos myself but you are correct, there are some Ducati marketing photos that I can go back to my uploads and correctly re-attribute.
- How would you suggest I handle the screenshots of the old Ducati.com I took from The Internet Archive? Those would be the only ones I'm not sure of. Thanks! 92GTA (talk) 17:02, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not really a copyright expert, you're better off asking at the WM Commons copyright helpdesk, they can then also help you action any deleting, tagging, etc. that may come out of this. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:08, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:51, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely, and I will be thoroughly diligent doing this going forward. It just didn't seem feasible to do when first creating the article from scratch and doing massive dumps of info all over the place and constantly re-organising large portions, etc. But now that's it's in the review cycle going forward I will ensure I notate all edits. Thank you! 92GTA (talk) 17:05, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
