Your Drag Race Wikiproject Quote!
[edit]Hello there, I'm positive I've come across your username doing awesome 'pedia stuff in my long stretches of lurking and learning, so, thanks for that!
If you don't mind me asking, who was the originator of your lovely quote as included in the Drag Race Wikiproject participants' list? (I needa, needa, needa get up on this Drag Race gig, or similar)
I have watched all of the franchise, it's been a real source of comfort as a queer person in mostly straight cis spaces the past few years, and I feel like I can almost remember the quote in question, "on the tip of the tongue of my memory" if you will. Alyssa Edwards maybe?
I've just joined the Wikiproject myself after a few previous experiences in the broader en.wiki sphere that discouraged me from editing. Both tech and academia get really dramatic, with lots of surprise COI-editing and promotional cruft popping up- it started to feel downright stressful. I suspect "startups and universities" as an area of focus will always be that high-tension, which I'm not cut out for!
Drag Race seems like a fun crowd of editors, and I see a lot of positive activity across the related articles. I always end up turning to WP as I'm learning about new queens, so might as well try to help maintain this node of pages I visit so regularly as a reader! I'll probably say hello to the general crew on the project page, but your chosen quote intrigued me so much I had to come say hi 🤠
Thanks for your time and your great work here on en.wiki, you have a very cool username also! Best wishes from Chelsea aka Chiselinccc (talk) 05:52, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
- Omg hello! Thanks so much for the compliments ^^ You are correct, the quote is a spoof on Alyssa Edwards’ entrance line in All Stars 2- seen here at approximately 0:12 :)
- It’s very nice to see a new face around! In contrast to the large amount of content we churn out, we’re a consistent team of maybe 6-7 editors, so any active helpers are welcomed! I’m very sorry that your previous Wiki experiences turned out that way (from experience, I wholeheartedly agree with your comment about universities and startups). If you have any questions, just shoot me a message! <3 Cornmazes (talk) 06:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Cornmazes. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Gitty Daneshvari".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

- 👍 Cornmazes (talk) 15:02, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Also, please avoid adding locations to the "born" field, unless sources and the article's prose specifically say where the subject was born. Just because sources say where someone is from does not mean they were born there, it could just mean that's where they are currently living. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:34, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Drag Vulcano
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. PRODS
[edit]Hello, Cornmazes,
If you are going to tag pages for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/CFD/etc.), there are two practices you need to start doing: a) leaving a descriptive edit summary that states what you are doing and b) posting a notification on the talk page of the editor who created the article or page. Most editors deal with these necessities by using Twinkle for tagging pages for deletion. Twinkle is an editing tool that has all of the templates you might need to do many tasks on the project so that you don't need to remember them all or go looking for the one you need at a particular moment. Most page patrollers and many admins use Twinkle on a daily basis as it makes routine editing tasks much easier and faster. I encourage you to try it out.
If you use Twinkle to tag pages for deletion, it will supply an appropriate edit summary and if you set your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator", it will post these notices on your behalf. Give a shot! Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:47, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Birth name
[edit]Hi Cornmazes
I just came to let you know that I removed the edit you made on Walter Sickert. The reason I did this was because the parameter was not neccessary in this case. The birth name parameter when a person has one name at birth but is later known by (or has changed to) a different one later on. For example see this page. Because Sickert had the same name throughout his life the parameter is not required.
I just thought I'll tell you this because I noticed you making the same edit to other articles as well. Earle Bartibus Huxley (talk) 20:54, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ohh, okay, thank you! I am a tad confused though, how does a middle name, one that is not part of their widely-known name, not fall under that umbrella? Just curious and always willing to grow, thanks again! Cornmazes (talk) 21:02, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Nomination of Joséphine Drabo Kanyoulou for deletion
[edit]
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joséphine Drabo Kanyoulou until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
ABHammad (talk) 01:15, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

The article Joséphine Drabo Kanyoulou has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ABHammad (talk) 01:07, 1 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi! I believe that she fits the criteria, as per WP:POLITICIAN, “Politicians and judges who have held international, national, or (for countries with federal or similar systems of government) state/province–wide office, or have been members of legislative bodies at those levels.” Ibrahim is apart of the Pan-African Parliament and the Djiboutian National Assembly, which I (to my knowledge) reliably sourced.
Either way, thanks so much for the advice and help! :D Cornmazes (talk) 19:15, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

DS warning & Block (USER NOTE: OLD!!)
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. You have been warned several times about your sourcing. After receiving an oversight complaint about your edits and reviewing your contributions, I have determined that you also seem to have a through lack of understanding of the biographies of living persons policy, especially, but not limited to when it comes to sourcing. Please note this is a very sensitive topic area you are editing and is acutely enforced, hence your awareness was given to the discretionary sanctions. Beyond that, your sourcing is completely substandard. I would highly recommend a full review of the sourcing policy and the BLP policy before returning to editing. I have left this block to be to the article space only, so that you can seek help from places like WP:TEAHOUSE on the issues mentioned. (CC: @Ponyo:) -- Amanda (she/her) 17:58, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
