  • Proposing possible new hooks:
ALT1 ... that Claus Peymann (pictured) staged over 250 productions, including 51 world premieres, during his tenure as the head of Vienna's Burgtheater?
ALT2 ... that when Claus Peymann (pictured) was manager of the Berliner Ensemble, its productions were often full despite mostly negative reviews?

Thank you for the offers, but don't you think that Offending the Audience is more interesting than just numbers? Handke is known worldwide, per prize and scandal. - Perhaps combine? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:36, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
In response to the strike of the original (but weaker and sadly without a woman, which would tell something interesting about him, and without the interesting author known for scandals):
ALT0a ... that Claus Peymann (pictured), who directed Offending the Audience at the TAT in 1966, premiered as the head of Vienna's Burgtheater more plays by Peter Handke?
I'd prefer theatre to figures and to reactions, both not telling us about him and his interests. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:58, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
Can you propose a hook that complies with WP:DYKINT? If you cannot, or if you cannot agree to such a hook, the nomination could be marked for closure. You can also withdraw the nomination if you are not open to a DYKINT-compliant hook. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:42, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

I wonder if we have a reviewer who is open to the options Narutolovehinata5 struck? This is not Churchill, whom everybody knows, so something unspecific and quirky might work. This is a person who needs to be introduced, and pure figures don't show his interests, not that I knew how to sell his theatre. He was instrumental in promoting the works of a Nobel Prize winner, over decades before he won that prize, and that singles him out. If that is not interesting for DYK, something is the wrong with the definition of interesting it uses. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:45, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
Gerda, in case another reviewer rejects the Offending the Audience angle and/or anything to do with TAT and Handke, would you agree to ALT1/ALT2, or would you rather withdraw the nomination? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:09, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
You could do me favour and from time to time leave one of my nominations alone. In 2013, I invented a principle of two comments per discussion. Any discussions would be much more concise if it was followed voluntarily. I like a hook today, ... that Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been compared to the Yuki-onna, a character from Japanese folklore? It offers insight into Japanese culture. Of course I don't know yet a thing about where the links go, but feel invited to learn something new. Which I believe should be the prime objective of DYK, not collecting hits. - Today is the centenary of birth of Mikis Theodorakis, and my next step will be to write about one of his compositions. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:00, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

QPQ: Done.

Overall: Image is too unclear for the main page. ALT0 is a total no-go, far too much waffle; ALT0a is better. Suggest instead that this nomination be combined with Theater am Turm, as was tentatively proposed above. We could use the ALT2 from there with a gentle trim? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 20:23, 3 August 2025 (UTC) ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 20:23, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
