[edit]

I request the addition of the following images to the relevant sections of the Narendra Modi article:

Development Projects section

[edit]

Please add this image to highlight major infrastructure achievements:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi near the Chenab Bridge — the world’s highest railway bridge — symbolizing key infrastructure development under his government.
  • Rationale:* The Chenab Bridge is a landmark infrastructure accomplishment completed during Modi’s tenure and represents India’s engineering capabilities.

Defence section

[edit]

Please add the following images:

1.

2.

Not done This article is about Mr. Modi, not about his premiership and this would be excessive detail. RegentsPark (comment) 14:28, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

People have long warned you on your talk page about not adding excessive images to articles. It doesn’t seem that you responded to any of them. Northern Moonlight 05:18, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Selling tea on the station platform

[edit]

According to Modi and his neighbours, he worked infrequently in his father's tea stall in the Vadnagar railway station.[1][2][3]

  • The first citation says "he had to work in his father's tea shop on the railway platform when he was a child."
  • The second citation is to a 336 page book. No page number is given. The Google Books URL did not allow me access to the book.
  • The third citation says "Most of them recall something of the childhood of Narendra Modi ... He rarely helped his father with the tea stall."

The second citation does not add anything - unless anyone objects I will delete it.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:14, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring notes

[edit]

An editor has restructured some notes that had citations in two steps: step 1, step 2. Before the edits individual notes looked like this:

Sources describing that India has experienced a backslide in democracy:[23][24][25][26][27]

Now individual notes look like this:

Sources:

If the article is going to have this, it would be better if these "notes" were moved from the notes section into the references section.

In addition, the other "notes" that listed sources said what the sources were listed for, for example, "Sources describing Modi's administration as complicit in the 2002 violence:", but for some reason the example above had this removed. I think "Sources describing that India has experienced a backslide in democracy" should be restored.

Finally, Modi's India: Hindu Nationalism and the Rise of Ethnic Democracy is a book - the citation adds no value without a page number. I do not understand why it was added to the example above - the point already have five citations! Adding that one was citation overkill.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:05, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Im fine with moving them to the references section. I've also removed the Jaffrelot book. After another thought, it really was overkill haha EarthDude (talk) 06:33, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
