City flag?

[edit]

Does Jerusalem have a city flag that we can put in the infobox? 170.249.138.242 (talk) 15:35, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I guess there are two questions. The answer to the first question 'Does Jerusalem have a city flag' is yes. The answer to the second question 'that we can put in the infobox' is probably no without violating WP:NPOV. See the last sentence in the lead section. Yes, the city has an official flag used by its municipal government. That's the WP:NPOV. Like any famous city, Jerusalem has a flag. But most countries dispute Israeli control of the city and therefore Wikipedia editors won't allow it to be posted on the city's page. Expand last paragraph of History section

[edit]

The History section is well-detailed for all periods of time except for the last paragraph, which covers too much ground too briefly (starts with the crusades and ends with the present time). I suggest splitting it into multiple paragraphs and expanding on each historical stage to give them equal weight and maintain consistency with the earlier parts of the section. [edit]

Please change 1 to 2:

Diff:

Both Israel and Palestine claim Jerusalem as their capital city; Israel maintains its primary governmental institutions there, while Palestine ultimately foresees it as its seat of power.
+
The Israelis have established it as the capital of the State of Israel, while the State of Palestine claims its eastern part as its own capital.

Fratella (talk) 22:01, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: No reason given for the proposed change. The current wording is preferable, given the lack of international recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Day Creature (talk) 06:15, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong place on map

[edit]

Please check the third map. The location of Jerusalem is wrong 42.108.29.233 (talk) 05:15, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yikes! It is due to an error on Commons and effects multiple articles. I left a comment over there. Zerotalk 07:39, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed now. You might have to refresh the page or wait a while to see the change. Zerotalk 11:22, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Double hatnote

[edit]

There is a hatnote mentioning the Al-Quds redirect at both the top of this article's page and at the top of the section that the redirect goes to. Should the hatnote mention at the top of the page be removed? OfTheUsername (talk) 18:47, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
