Notice: Deltarune today
[edit]At the time of writing, it's about five and a half hours until Chapters 3 and 4 release; Deltarune is today. The release will certainly affect the article in a variety of ways: vandalism, unconstructive edits, and likely content disputes. Please also be wary regarding the plot summary of Chapters 3 and 4 in the following day or so as things will change drastically. Happy editing and have fun playing the new chapters. – Sparkle and Fade (talk • contributions) 09:45, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Please add the following to Chapter 3's plot summary:
"Tenna forces the trio to star in various competition segments, presented as a variety of minigames. Upon continuing to participate in these games, they eventually discover Toriel being held hostage by Tenna inside of a giant toy capsule.
The party demands Tenna stop the games, allowing them to seal the fountain and return home with Toriel. He refuses, citing his feelings of abandonment as the Dreemurr family gradually stopped watching television due to the hospitalization of Noelle's father, Toriel and Asgore's divorce, and Asriel going away to college. He additionally mentions that the Roaring Knight, a figure first mentioned by Queen in Chapter 2, promised him relevancy in exchange for refusing to close the fountain. After a fight serving as the game show's "final challenge", Ralsei and Susie comfort Tenna, explaining that he has already spent years bringing joy to the Dreemurrs. Although hopeful from this message, he is suddenly attacked and presumably killed by the Knight, who also attempts to capture Toriel.
The party fights the Knight, and upon defeat, is rescued by Undyne (a police officer in Hometown), allowing Kris and Susie to escape to the Light World with the Fountain remaining unsealed. The two run over to a previously sealed-off bunker, which now appears to have a Dark Fountain created inside of it. The door shuts before they can enter, causing Susie to bang on its door until a hidden electronic keypad is revealed. Susie then runs back to the Dreemurr home to rescue Toriel, suggesting Kris come with her." 2600:4040:9562:F400:856C:3AD3:760:8604 (talk) 22:08, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Done. I watched a live stream for a while earlier today of the gameplay so I know that this is a legit plot summary. Thank you for providing a good summary for the page. λ NegativeMP1 22:12, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Change "Chapter 3+4" to "Chapters 3+4" Change "the new Darkner born from Gerson" to "the new Darkner born from a statue of Gerson" (reduces confusion)
Partly done: Did the first, but the second is extraneous detail that makes the plot summary further stray from the MOS:VG guideline of 300 words. Therefore, I've simply changed it to not be misleading. novov talk edits 05:32, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit]The game has a producer, Robert Sephazon, who is not listed in the infobox at the top of the page (because his identity was only recently revealed). He should be added to the article.
Sephazon announced his involvement here, and is credited in the credits of the game. ThunderCube38 (talk) 06:01, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
external game content (spamton sweepstakes "whats next" stuff) and Knight theories
[edit]Should this page mention content from outside the game itself? For a short period after the May 2025 newsletter, an ARG whas put onto the Deltarune website (https://deltarune.com/sweepstakes/silence/ scroll to the bottom) that mentions just quite a lot of stuff teasing Chapter 3+4.
and additionally, should this article mention the game's whole mystery related to the Knight's identity? it's becoming more of an important topic I feel. Constantos (talk) 20:30, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- While Spamton Sweepstakes did feature some interesting plot details, whether they are considered canon is up for debate, and nothing in the game confirms it is canon, even if they don’t necessarily contradict each other. The event itself could be mentioned, but sadly as for now the event is not notable enough in the story to be listed. So long, and thanks for all the fish (talk) 04:32, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

Under alternate route, it is presumed that the final call asking Kris if they will quote "go to the festival tomorrow" is Noelle's mother based on the audio playing upon the text continuing (otherwise known as a characters "voice," albeit this is not found in non-plot important NPCs) being the same. 2603:7080:6EF0:1360:CCD5:D4D5:3844:3D25 (talk) 21:40, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. LizardJr8 (talk) 02:37, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Discussion regarding plot summary
[edit]I've started a discussion at WT:VG regarding how to handle the trimming of this articles plot summaries in accordance with MOS:VG/PLOT's limit of 300 words per summary of episodic games, which every summary on this article goes over. Anyone is free to participate in the conversation if they want to. λ NegativeMP1 00:03, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Splitting articles
[edit]Currently, the Deltarune article is constructed as a page featuring all chapters, with each section split into their own segments for each chapter. This applies not just to the plot, but every section other than gameplay. Considering that the game, unlike most episodic games is released years apart, with gameplay evolving massively between chapters (most of which is not reflected on the page), each chapter having a lengthy story with its own alternate plot, and each release having separate media coverage, it may be wise to split the page into each chapter (or each release, combining chapters 3 and 4). The pages would all still be of reasonable size, and will improve flow due to the article not having to go through each chapter chronologically for each section. So long, and thanks for all the fish (talk) 04:51, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- This is already being discussed at WT:VG. Also substantial media coverage for the later chapters is somewhat rare, which complicates splitting it up. novov talk edits 07:05, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, understood. Thanks for the reply! So long, and thanks for all the fish (talk) 08:03, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
“1 more chapter confirmed”
[edit]I would appreciate the opinion of more experienced Wikipedia editors on this. The plot section on this article states that “at least one more chapter is planned for development.” However, the game’s main menu has 7 chapters (of which 3 have yet to be released). Is this considered a reputable source or is further confirmation needed? Random IP User (talk) 20:01, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
