Lack of Fangamer Render
[edit]I've noticed that other than Gaster (who uses spr_mysteryman as he does not have a confirmed design), Asgore is the only Undertale Character without a fangamer render as their infobox image. why is that? does he simply not have one? has literally nobody bothered? I mean, it COULD be the latter seeing as I'm the first person to post something on this page. -some... bozo. (don't even bother. i'm not an actual account.) 13:11, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

- the problem of copyright violation isn't related to the gif's artist, but to moby kox (or whatever that guy who made the earthbound halloween hack is called). to add that gif, you'd need at the very least...
- reliable sources about the meme
- that those sources provide significant coverage about the meme and how it affects discourse about asgore
- that the meme's coverage be significant to the article
- sauce
- the ability to discuss that showing the meme would add to the article without overstepping whatever wacky copyright stuff may apply
- the only cases of something of this sort being successful that i can name off the top of my head would be doge (where memes are shown because that's what the article is about) and gardevoir (where a disgusting bastardization born from the depraved delusions of some horny chinese(?) guys looking for a quick buck is shown because that's what an entire section is about), and i wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) if the latter was removed over copyvio issues consarn (grave) (obituary) 18:21, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- @VaILI12 the GIF depicts copyrighted characters and is traced over a scene from the movie Open Season, which to my knowledge is still a copyright violation even if the fan-made work is not owned by the original authors. Even if you got it cleared by Fox, the fact it's violating another completely different work's copyright will still be inherently problematic. - admittedly, i can see an argument for the tracing (or rotoscoping if you're feeling spicy) being fine, since it's relatively common and uncontroversial these days, which is why i didn't mention it consarn (grave) (obituary) 18:54, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
