I’d like to respectfully suggest that Dr. Deo qualifies under WP:BIO, which recognizes individuals who have “held a notable public office, such as a cabinet minister… or similar regional or national political leader.” As Chairperson of India’s Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) — the country’s **most senior** electricity regulator — Dr. Deo held a position with national policy authority broadly equivalent to the Chair of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). All recent FERC chairpersons (e.g., Neil Chatterjee, Richard Glick, Willie Phillips) have Wikipedia articles, suggesting precedent for notability of regulatory leaders in comparable roles.

In addition to his national regulatory leadership, Dr. Deo served as Chair of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, received an international award from the World Wind Energy Association, and co-authored a book on energy policy with a major academic publisher.
