Naomi Mitchell also known as Omiindustriies or Panic Hardware, she is an electronic musician and modular synth producer based in Los Angeles, California. She is known for being the wife of Lauren Bousfield and as a member of In-House Pharmacy.
History
[edit]Omiindustriies is a Los Angeles based modular synthesizer company that was founded in 2016 by Naomi Mitchell. Mitchell's goal for Omiindustriies is to create new conversations and relationships with modular synthesizers.[1]
In 2019, Mitchell and Bousfield started a talk show under the name of Low Pass Gays, where Bousfield and Mitchell interview other musicians and bands such as Baseck and Clipping about modular synthesis.[2][3]
In 2018, Naomi Mitchell and Lauren Bousfield released an EP, Tetsuo: The Iron Man Revisited, a rescoring of Tetsuo: The Iron Man. It is inspired by how Bousfield and Mitchell felt while watching the film, and how its connected to their experiences living as trans people, comparing it to a palpable nightmare, while also making references to Donna Haraway's A Cyborg Manifesto. In 2020, In-House Pharmacy released an album called We Are Electronics and Piano Only, an album that experiments with the limitations of using only the piano and modular synthesizers. Originally released as a 6" lathe-cut vinyl record, In-House Pharmacy releases Stochastic Violence in 2022, a single that features a visualizer made by Mitchell, using modular synths to heavily distort the visuals.[4][5][6]
