Withered is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter D4vd, Produced alongside prodvelvet And Tyler Spry, released on April 25, 2025. After rising to prominence with his debut single "Romantic Homicide", signing to Darkroom and Interscope Records, D4vd released two EPs, "Petals to Thorns" and "The Lost Petals" in 2023. He collaborated with the producers Tyler Spry, Ryan Tedder, Harry Charles, among others. It is a studio album that explores themes of heartbreak, emotional isolation, and personal evolution.

Background

D4vd rose to prominence in 2022 with the viral success of his breakout single "Romantic Homicide,"[1][2][3] which gained traction on TikTok.[4][5] By 2025, he had amassed over 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify and signed with Interscope Records. It follows his earlier EPs, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, and explores themes of heartbreak, emotional isolation, and personal evolution.[6]

Composition

Withered comprises 15 tracks[7] that blend melodic pop, indie R&B, ambient soundscapes, and lo-fi textures.[8] It features previously released singles such as "One More Dance",[9][10] "What Are You Waiting For",[11] "Where’d It Go Wrong?",[10] and "Crashing", the latter featuring Kali Uchis.[12][13][14] 2024 single "Feel It" appears on various versions of the album[15] and the Invincible soundtrack.[16][17] The album was released through Darkroom and Interscope Records. D4vd had said the album took two years to finish.[18] The album landed at number thirteen on Billboard 200 chart within two weeks of being released.[19] Lyrically, the album explores love,[20][21] identity, and emotional decay. D4vd has described it as a "culmination of everything [he’s] tried to say musically" since his debut.[22]

Release and promotion

To promote the album, d4vd launched the "Withered World Tour", performing in cities across North America and Europe.[23][24] The opening concert in Houston was livestreamed and featured several unreleased tracks.[25] An album showcase of Withered happened in the SM Mall of Asia, located in Pasay City.[26][27] To promote the record, the expanded edition was made available on Bandlab,[28] featuring two exclusive bonus tracks, along with the single "Feel It",[29] recorded for the Amazon Prime Video superhero TV series Invincible.[3]

On May 30, 2025, D4vd released "WITHERED (Bonus Tracks)", a single containing the aforementioned Bandlab-exclusive tracks, "Where Did You Go?" and "Unrequited" to streaming platforms, as well as adding them to the tracklist on the album itself.[30]

The album received positive reviews from critics, who praised its emotional depth and genre versatility.[4] It was noted for its cinematic production and intimate songwriting, continuing the melancholic but hopeful tone of d4vd's earlier works.[8]

United States

In the United States, Withered sold 30,000 copies after a few weeks of availability,[19] and charted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.[33] Withered debuted at top three on the Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, marking D4vd's first top three on any chart.[34]

Internationally

In the United Kingdom, Withered debuted at number ninety-eight on the Official Albums Chart.[35] Withered also debuted at number ninety-four on the ARIA Album Chart in Australia,[36] and number thirty-one the Top 40 Albums Chart in New Zealand.[37]
