Help needed finding Chinese journal articles (only have English translation)
I would like to read the following articles (the author translated them into English):
I tried searching online in Chinese but had no luck. They are probably not available online. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Melbguy05 (talk) 07:25, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
Romanization of Taiwanese names
If I'm romanizing the name of a Taiwanese person and there are no English sources available, which system should I use? Wade–Giles, Tongyong Pinyin, Hanyu Pinyin, or something else? Thanks. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk • contribs) 04:14, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- Based on my impression of the majority of articles I see, I think using Tsai instead of Cai, or Hsu instead of Xu, for instance, would be least likely to stick out. Which is to say, a sort of Wade–Giles that omits diacritics. Formally and prescriptively, I don't think we have a conclusive rule on this, and would rather not try to make one. I think, descriptively, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese)#People is more or less right about the issues that it mentions, although it doesn't exactly answer your question. - Alright, I'll go with Wade-Giles then. Thanks a lot! I feel like there should be some kind of guideline for this, though. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk • contribs) 12:42, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
Hello. Project members are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It will be held from Monday June 16 - Sunday July 13. There is $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning some vouchers to help you buy books for future content by improving articles for your country or any other, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for your project, sign up if interested.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:22, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
