Tip of the moment... Captions This is an image of the bust of Socrates, and this text is a caption. An image's caption is text that accompanies the image. The caption may include the title of the picture and/or an explanation of what is depicted in the image. Not every Wikipedia image needs a caption: some are simply decorative, while some others are self-explanatory. Captions should not repeat the article title name unnecessarily. If you decide that an image does not need a caption, then please follow the advice at Wikipedia:Alternative text for images to specify appropriate "alt" text. Alt text should not be a mirror of the caption text. Captions can be added by using the frame or thumb parameter as part of an image tag. Tip of the day... Displaying one page within another = Transclusion Including the contents of a template page on a different page (by surrounding the page name with double braces, i.e. "{{}}" and leaving out the "Template:" prefix) is called transclusion. This allows the other page to be automatically updated whenever the template page is updated. Besides templates, pages in the following namespaces can be transcluded: Category: Help: Portal: User: Wikipedia: The only difference between transcluding these and templates is that you must include the prefix (followed by a colon) with the page's name inside the double braces. Images also can be transcluded, but this is done using double square brackets instead of braces. The Tip of the Day project provides a different piece of advice for using Wikipedia every day. Like the Picture of the Day, you can include it on your userpage by adding {{totd}} somewhere (at the top of your talk page is a good place for it). The randomized version (displayed above) is {{totd-random}}, and shows a different tip each time it is displayed on your screen. Other formats for the TOTD exist, such as the more compact {{totd3}}, or you can make your own by including {{Wikipedia:Tip of the day/{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTDAY}}, {{CURRENTYEAR}}}} on your userpage (which includes the raw text, without any formatting) and then enclose it in your own formatting. To float the tip of the day to the right of content (as it is displayed here), place this code where you want the tip to show up: {{right|{{totd3}}}}.
