Generalissima and I are planning to prepare the article for a featured article candidacy. We would be interested to learn what changes are required to fulfill the featured article criteria, but we're also open to more casual improvement ideas. Phlsph7 (talk) 09:38, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the article looks great, and this will probably be an easy FA for you too. I see just one issue, which could just be me- in the "areas of study" section, it reads like a summary of the history whereas I think it should be more about what historians study in them: for example, say in history of asia, it should be about how civilizaions gave birth to religions and trade routes and empires, and how colonization led to the modern era etc. Basically, a better flow rather than a collection of notable events that happened. Also, could you ping me when it goes to FAC, I'll love to do an image review and maybe a source review for it. DWF91 (talk) 15:26, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DoctorWhoFan91: Thanks for your input! I tried to implement some of these ideas, the initial formulations of the paragraphs now start with what historians study. In principle, it would be possible follow this approach for the whole paragraphs, but my impression is that it's often more straightforward and less cumbersome to just say "X happened" rather than "Historians research how X happened". I'll ping you when the FAC starts. Phlsph7 (talk) 10:32, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks better now. DWF91 (talk) 11:25, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
