Versailles in the Paris task force?
[edit]Hi there hello, so I just spontaneously joined the Paris task force and got into tagging "Paris-related" articles, but I wonder whether or not articles that are "Versailles-related" should be tagged and improved as well. I'd be happy if anybody'd give me the answer to that. Update: I'll just tag the "Versailles-related" ones, just tell me if I shouldn't :) - CarolingianCitizen (talk) 10:02, 7 August 2022 (CET)

Article needed: Les Veilleurs
[edit]House de Nuchèze
[edit]Should House de Nuchèze be listed for AfD? It looks like it does not meet notability. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:28, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Absolutely. Article has been moved backwards and forwards between main space and draft space a couple of times at least, without significant improvements being made. Kiwipete (talk) 02:25, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

The article Michel Arnaud has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
notability, doesn't cite sources, but almost 20 year old article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Delectopierre (talk) 04:04, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

Can someone summarize a French review?
[edit]Mentioned in the book The Use and Abuse of History: Or How the Past Is Taught. My French is not good enough for that, and the source is not easily machine translatable. Just a 2-3 sentences will do - what did the reviewer think about the book, etc. This is scheduled to be DYKed soon and it would be nice to have that mention expanded. TIA. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:11, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Not easy to summarize, this is a long and dense review. The reviewer addresses many points (mostly critically) but does not give an overall appreciation. GrandEscogriffe (talk) 16:20, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
How to send a draft in for a review?

Foreign relations of New Caledonia
[edit]Hi there, I was wondering if Wikipedia should create a Foreign relations of New Caledonia page. Currently, the page redirects to New Caledonia. As an overseas department of France, France is responsible for the territory's defence, foreign relations, law and order, monetary policy and tertiary education. New Caledonia retains some degree of self-autonomy and has its own Congress and various provincial and local governments. I had a look at some sources from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and a business group. Under the framework of the Nouméa Accord, New Caledonia conducts some limited degree of foreign relations. It has been a member of the Pacific Islands Forum since 2016 and also participates in the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC). New Caledonia also has official representatives who are embedded at the French Embassies in Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Vanuatu have consulate-generals in New Caledonia while Japan also has a consulate. New Caledonia is also an associate member of La Francophonie and is a non-voting member of the World Health Organization's Western Pacific Regional Committee. Not sure whether I should create one for Wikipedia. Wanted to get some advice from people who are more knowledgeable of the topic. Andykatib (talk) 05:38, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, there is enough in the general Pacific relations for a separate article. Newystats (talk) 10:01, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Newystats:, thanks for your advice. Will start a draft article soon. Cheers. Feel free to help as well. Andykatib (talk) 19:26, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Newystats:, have started work on Draft:Foreign relations of New Caledonia. I will add in some content about the three referenda and the 2024 New Caledonia unrest later. Let me know what you think about the draft article in its present form. Cheers. Andykatib (talk) 19:34, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Request for help: Leonard Willey
[edit]Is there anyone who could help with Draft:Leonard Willey? This was requested by an editor a long time ago so I went ahead and created an article but whereas usually I do not struggle to find sources I am really struggling with this one, anyone has any idea where I could potentially look? Please feel free to edit the draft as well. The only wiki there is a mainspace article is fr wiki but cannot find any sources there really? Abcmaxx (talk) 18:02, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Accusations by Le Point about Wikipedia
[edit]This story blew up in February and has since quieted, but I only just noticed it. Le Point accused French Wikipedia in the pages of the magazine of a disinformation and slander campaign against them, tracked down editors and threatened to dox them, and said that legal action against WMF was underway. Save a Draft - Draft:Annette Abrard
[edit]Looking to save a draft here. There is a French Version of the page but I cannot find anything in English that shows notability. Hoping someone here is familiar or has access to non-English archives to assist. CNMall41 (talk) 16:58, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Questions on the talk page in relation to sources used in the article, namely author Bondeson. That article and Pig-faced women both heavily rely upon that author. Relevant, because both are FA from 2010, and they may eventually run on TFA. Input from French speakers and people knowledgible about French historical sources is needed.

Air France 447 Discussion
[edit]There is an important discussion regarding which summary should we include in the Air France Flight 447 article's infobox. The discussion can be found at Talk:Air France Flight 447#Infobox Summary: Electric Boogaloo. Input from project members would be very much appreciated.
