On 21 October 2024, the Wikimedia Foundation made a completely unprecedented decision to blank the article and replace the content with the following header as of 1 April 2025:
 | The Wikimedia Foundation has suspended access to this page due to an order by the Delhi High Court, without prejudice to the Foundation's rights. We are pursuing all available legal options.
We remain committed to access to knowledge as a human right. We are working to ensure that everyone can access and share free knowledge on Wikipedia. In accordance with applicable legal processes, the Wikimedia Foundation filed an appeal before the Supreme Court of India, challenging the takedown order. The appeal was admitted and the Supreme Court issued notice to the concerned parties on March 17, 2025. This regards active litigation, and this page will be updated when we are able to share more information. |
Even if the article is encyclopedic with many independent secondary reliable sources, the Foundation made the decision to suppress the entire article, which goes against WP:NOTCENSORED. Over 1300 users have added their signatures voicing complete opposition against this unprecedented decision; some users have participated in a request for comment proposing a blackout similar to the one in 2012 over SOPA and PIPA. However, despite the open letter and the request for comment, the redaction is still up.
