user:Kaffet i halsen I thought this was worth a response as I don't get why a standard I would guess is acceptable for 10000+ plus pages isn't ok for this one which actually goes further than most. There 1000s of page for sailing olympian like this and it the same for every other sport. So randomly I thought I would look at Natacha event so I went to the first time the event was held in 2016 and looked at the last twenty atheletes.

On my page for Natacha and others I have gone further than the vast majority of these creating the page linking to the crew defining the date of birth and linking to the IOC, Olympedia and World Sailing and any top google search articles.

The trouble with moving it draft is that all the linking to categories and wiki data are lost and deleted. Page review seem very random.

It is not acceptable now and you may make those pages better or write new better articles (WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). At the time of their creation, they were according to the policies. Now sportspeople need significant coverage in reliable sources. These six articles, Brin Liddell, Natacha Saouma-Pedersen, Sarah Newberry Moore, Draft:Bjarne Bouwer, Draft:Laila van der Meer, and Draft:Fynn Sterritt, contain no such references. I think its a little to late to have this policy like this. I did try and get a policy for sailing notability but decided the time and type of user interaction required todo it wasn't me. See Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(sports)/Archive_40 if this is something you want to help proceed as this seems more you I am happy to help.

For me connecting to primary sources is important as it undisputable, maintained and reliable. I am also a big archive.org fan. Secondary source often contain personal opinions I throw in for notability to keep moderates of my articles. The bar is to high for olympians given the previous accepted precidents but this is the wrong place for that discussion and I will just stop contributing in this way. A lot of pages I create get expanded and I do a lot of structual changes to these to tables or career breakdown rather than a dumping ground of one line additional sentences that are superceeded but not changed. RS:X Youth World Championships

Please stop recreating RS:X Youth World Championships. If you disagree with the AFD decision or process, then WP:DRV is the way to dispute this. Repeatedly reverting a redirect and demanding another AFD is not correct procedure. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:07, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph the page hasn't been deleted it been edited out. The origional nominator gave me a barnstar award for my contribution based on my response. You show me where any form of concensus was reached. The page was randomly edited out following one post that said the content on there by linking to an entirely seperate event. The content of this page interms of medalists has been contained within template on wikipedia unlinked and unreferenced for years. It a shame consolidating content and referencing it leads to this kind of exchange with other users it enough to put people of contributing to wikipedia. As the page creator and mains contributor you would have thought any proper process would involve summarising the conclusion and giving the creator time to repsond. User:Ahunt and User:Smartskaft this is your idea to split the events from the equipment page. Despite them being IOC recognised and World Sailing approved World Championships editors think they are not notable. Yet some pointless regional games with 5 competitors and one or no reference get left alone.

You no the the amounts of work by myself to improve referencing and information on the events beyond just the medallist I end up in this kind of exchange. I am not starting a new AFD simply because you don't like the result of the one earlier this month (which was to redirect to preserve history and support a merge). The only appropriate way to challenge this is via DRV, not by unilaterally declaring it invalidand edit warring to reinstate the article. Claiming "DRV is top complex" is not a valid response, it's clear you only want to ignore the outcome and try and throw the burden on someone else to AFD it again. If I had got to the AFD discussion before it closed, I would supported delete, as no evidence of actually passing WP:GNG has been presented. If someone redirects the article again (as the AFD consensus allows them to) and you revert without a DRV discussion, I will raise this to WP:ANI, as your conduct clearly falls under WP:NOTLISTENING and WP:OWN.
