Help!

[edit]

I need help with acceptable reasons to nominate pages for deletion. Wbm4567 (talk) 03:04, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Wbm4567, AFD is for articles, media, and other pages that do not meet the relevant criteria for content of the encyclopedia. The list of common deletion reasons can be found here, but the main ones include
  1. Content that meets at least one of the criteria for speedy deletion
  2. Copyright violations and other material violating Wikipedia's non-free content criteria
  3. Vandalism, including inflammatory redirects, pages that exist only to disparage their subject, patent nonsense, or gibberish
  4. Advertising or other spam without any relevant or encyclopedic content
  5. Articles that cannot possibly be attributed to reliable sources, including neologisms, original theories and conclusions, and hoaxes
  6. Articles for which thorough attempts to find reliable sources to verify them have failed
  7. Articles with subjects that fail to meet the relevant notability guidelines (WP:N, WP:GNG, WP:BIO, WP:MUSIC, WP:CORP, and so forth)
  8. Articles that breach Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons
  9. Any other content not suitable for an encyclopedia

Great, thank you! Wbm4567 (talk) 04:20, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I endorse SmokeyJoe's advice to you. I would also add that you might want to focus on editing which will give you a better understanding of policies and how they relate to the content Wikipedia. -- Whpq (talk) 20:25, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks! Wbm4567 (talk) 20:26, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Bobby Lackey Stadium

[edit]

Hello Wbm4567, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Bobby Lackey Stadium, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: You are not the original author of the draft! You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:38, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Drops In the Ocean - Hawk Nelson.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Drops In the Ocean - Hawk Nelson.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:30, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I just did it. Wbm4567 (talk) 15:35, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:I Believe by Phil Wickham.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:I Believe by Phil Wickham.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:25, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@B-bot I requested deletion for that file; it’s now deleted. Wbm4567 (talk) 22:17, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your mass nominations (and speedy deletion tagging) is disruptive. You are free to contribute to other areas. Continued disruptive contributions could result to a block. Best, Reading Beans, Duke of Rivia 07:59, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ok ok. I’ve stopped. Now I need more help of what contributions are useful. What should I read that talks about useful contributions? Wbm4567 (talk) 11:23, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Being in too much of a hurry to make useful contributions often results in inexperienced editors complicating the work that is being done by experienced editors. Slow down. If you are about 99% certain that something that you are about to do will be helpful, just think about it for a while anyway. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:18, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon Ok, I’ll remember that. Wbm4567 (talk) 23:11, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Drafts

[edit]

Please stop reviewing drafts, and please stop nominating drafts for deletion. Leave the drafts created by other editors alone. You are wasting the time of MFD and are not helping. You aren't ready to take part in the draft review process. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:09, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I need help on how to properly close discussions. Wbm4567 (talk) 03:20, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wbm4567, looking at the other posts on your talk page, it seems to me that you probably should not be closing discussions at this time. Please work on improving the encyclopedia for now. -- asilvering (talk) 04:47, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Matthewjaredgarza2010 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Matthewjaredgarza2010. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Appeal

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I understand what I was blocked for, this is a sockpuppet of Matthewjaredgarza2010, and I was disrupting Wikipedia. I understand that multiple accounts are not allowed for abuse.

Decline reason:

Obviously not, or you'd be contesting the block with your original account. Yamla (talk) 12:26, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
