Request regarding “Thae Su Nyein” article

[edit]

Hello @Voorts, I saw that the page "Thae Su Nyein" was previously deleted/moved. I am working on a new draft with reliable sources and updated content that addresses the concerns from the previous deletion. Would you mind taking a look or advising if I can proceed with a new draft submission? Thank you very much! Yuzy Okkotsu1 () 08:21, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green

[edit]

If you want the category to exist, then it's your job to create the category as soon as it has even one page in it. The category cannot be simply left on pages in redlinked form, and you don't get to make it my job to create the category for you — each time the redlinked category report runs, I have over 200 redlinked categories to clean up, meaning I'd be at the job for 10 or 20 hours if I invested extended amounts of research time into each individual category. So if the project wants the category, then it's the project's job to be on top of creating the category the moment it has any pages in it, and not my job to take any clapback from anybody about not leaving it to sit red. Category created. voorts (talk/contributions) 14:53, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But also why is it harder for you to click the redlink and click "create category" than it is to remove the parameter from the banner? voorts (talk/contributions) 14:54, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not a Dispute

[edit]

It isn't a dispute. Had you read my post, I said I was requesting admin eyeballs for a community consensus. Had you looked at the post, you would see that the entire thing had stagnated and DR had been exhaused, hence the request for community consensus. - NeutralhomerTalk22:58, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DR has not been exhausted. Have you posted to relevant noticeboards for comment? Has there been an RfC? In any event, AN and AN/I still aren't the places to go for routine requests to close discussions. Read the notices at the top of each page. voorts (talk/contributions) 23:07, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, when it's turned into a "yes, it is" "no, it isn't" back and forth, I'd say it's exhausted. I was trying to do an RfC without moving the entire discussion to another forum, hence the request for eyeballs. - NeutralhomerTalk23:14, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion of Weird Faith

[edit]
Congratulations, Voorts! The article you nominated, Weird Faith, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, FrB.TG (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:05, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There were apparently two deletions, you did one of them. I don't know if there were two different articles or a duplication. I don't know if there was any significant content in those articles or something that would point to sources. Please restore whatever there was to my sandbox so I can see if an acceptable article can be formed. Let me know on my talk page when you have done so.Trackinfo (talk) 08:22, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It appears this has already been done. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:31, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so, but feel free to deprod if you do. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:40, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

GA review on Middle judicatory

[edit]

Hi there. Thanks for taking a look at this article. Would you be willing to reconsider your quickfail on Middle judicatory? I am committed to addressing concerns. (Some of them should be simple fixes -- for example, the broken links worked months ago when I submitted this for GA consideration and can be easily addressed.) As a GAR regular with a track record of good-faith engagement as both nominator and reviewer, I'd appreciate the courtesy of a chance to address your concerns. Thanks! Admining

[edit]

I think it would be useful to compare your post here with FFF post here. Here's what I think you could have written:

Colin, I'm sorry my words about what I "only read" can be interpreted to mean I did not read the evidence, but rather, limited my reading to the first 500 words of statements. Unlike another admin in that discussion, I did read the evidence as well. I would also like to apologise for not carefully reading your initial post, which at 468 words came within the limit. If I had, I would have seen your resignation and not had to refer to second hand knowledge. I also acknowledge I'd have seen this mistake earlier if I had read the message you pinged me. I appreciate such carelessness undermines my authority in imposing sanctions and will endeavour to be more careful in future.

It would have conveyed the same information, would have strengthened your position, and put to an end any need for further posts from me. You could have written all that freely because unlike me, you have no limit to word count.

  1. Admins should demonstrate empathy with all others, whether in conflict or agreement with them
  2. Admins should seek to defuse situations rather than inflame them
  3. Admins should set a high standard of conduct by example
  4. Admins should not abuse the extra privileges they enjoy to settle petty disputes
  5. Admins should seek a good faith interpretation for misunderstandings
  6. Admins should strike and apologise when they make mistakes
  7. Admins should not display the very conduct they are admonishing others for
  8. Admins should use temperate language and recognise throwing insults is unhelpful ("act like jerks")
  9. Admins should endeavour to take on board criticism and not reject it out of hand

FFF's post was a masterclass in admining. They demonstrated empathy, they educated helpfully, and the found a solution. No insults. No lectures about what is all my fault. And importantly, they were successful.

Maybe civility and good faith are things other people are expected to have and to be sanctioned for lacking? I recognise the irony of me pointing out your uncivil behaviour and bad faith, but it is easier to spot in others than oneself. And that's something else you might want to reflect on. -- Colin°Talk 10:28, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from 129Oac (04:00, 26 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello Voort. When editing and placing a Citation, what is the format? Is MLA Formating Accepted? --Andy ([[User talk:129Oac l talk]]) (talk) 04:00, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @129Oac: MLA is acceptable, but using a citation template makes such notions irrelevant. Please see WP:REFB to learn about how to cite sources, including pointers to some of the more common citation templates. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:32, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
