Hi Barr, I appreciate the well-researched reply. I agree that if List of France international footballers (1–4 caps) deserves deletion under my rationale, so do all of these. I still think that only the "List of [Country] international footballers" articles satisfy WP:NLIST, not these side articles for those with fewer appearances than the parent page cuts off at. However, if the practice is so widespread, it clearly deserves discussion with a WP:MULTIAFD, so I have retracted the PROD and will prepare that. ViridianPenguin🐧 (💬) 22:13, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain why it should not be both when Template:R with possibilities exists to facilitate such redirects to the broader topic until the draft is ready for mainspace? Because somebody clicking on Amazon Callao FC will be redirected, and if they click the redirect, there is no indication that Draft:Amazon Callao FC exists. Therefore, there is a very high risk that a well meaning editor will overwrite the redirect, leaving us with two articles on the same topic, which will be a nightmare to tidy up when somebody realised. Apologies, I only meant to ask whether Template:R with possibilities makes it acceptable to draftify the existing content and convert the page to a redirect for the time being, not pretend that I had done that from the outset.
