Please stop trying to correct grammar

Hello, thanks for your efforts here, but please stop trying to correct grammar; many of your edits are damaging articles. Out of the 25 edits you made today, nine have been completely undone and several more have needed modification; this is not acceptable for someone trying to correct grammar. This sort of thing should only be done by native speakers of English, and your addition of a comma in this edit to Cat Fugue proves that your English is not good enough for the sort of edits you're trying to make. Also, your use of the word article in edit summaries is confusing; on Wikipedia, the word "article" normally refers to individual pages about topics, not grammatical articles like "a" and "the". Instead of your current pattern of making unhelppful grmmatical edits to random articles, it'd be better to find something that you're interested in and edit about that . I've evaluated all your edits, and after doing so, I feel the need to emphasise that you need to stop grammar-checking; you'd be much better off doing anything besides that. There's almost certainly a Wikipedia in another language you know besides English (see the list of Wikipedias); the non-English Wikipedias need all the help they can get. Except you haven't done so; every single edit you've done since then has been an attempted grammatical fix, sometimes successful, sometimes not (such as at Greta Bradman]], Byron Lee, Baron Monteagle of Brandon, and Diderik Hegermann). Your actions so far don't inspire much trust; the only way you've responded to my message above is to make your edit summaries clearer (like this edit at Gavin Price-Jones) which I appreciate). Definite/indefinite articles and prepositions are also elements of English grammar (see the linked article); you should not try to fix those (and indeed all the edits you've made since your latest comment have either been mostly or fully undone). Every single edit you've made with your account besides the edits to your talk page has involved attempts to fix grammar; that you didn't realise this is yet another reason why you should never try to make such edits again. Urvadridge, please just stop. "For" can be repeated but doesn't need to: it's a matter of style, and adding an unnecessary word is verbose. This first "the" is maybe okay, but the last three are just wrong because they add an unwarranted definiteness to the terms. "As" is not necessary, and the "a"s are a matter of style. Until you have a better feeling for these things, both in terms of style and in terms of grammatical necessity and correctness, please just stop. Drmies (talk) 14:23, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Urvadridge (talk), I have been following your edits since I put out that Welcome note. I feel you should create a proper account and User page as they have their own benefits. It is not necessary though. Check this: Wikipedia:Why create an account? I am also not sure how you are selecting your articles to edit. There are many more things you can do than just checking the grammar. Initially I was taken aback by the strong words by Graham87, but I realised after checking his 'reverts' that most of your edits are either not necessary or wrong. Despite many warnings you have been doing the same mistakes. I have counted more than 60 reverts out of your nearly 150 edits. In less than 10 days, that is a huge amount. In the long run this will badly affect your edit history. Also, if you continue in the same vein, there is a danger of your username getting blocked. There are so many articles which need cleanup, for example Indian politician bios... go to any state's election page and you can start cleaning them up. Just an example... @Davidindia: Thanks for this; I know my wording above was strident but I wanted to be clear about my message. I suspect this user is finding articles to edit using the random article feature. Urvadridge, you do have a proper account, but you don't have a user page where you can provide information about yourself and your interests so the Wikipedia community can get to know you better; see the guideline about user pages for more information about that.
