No worries. Undertherock.dc (talk) 21:39, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would you be able to review my edit: Special:Diff/1278339886? I did not add any external links, and actually removed text promoting events conducted by a specific equestrian club. I am not intimately familiar with this community, but would welcome ways to help improve the article. Undertherock.dc (talk) 21:39, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Connection to a source?

When checking a source your referenced on the Mansfield article, I noticed an interesting connection.

The sign-off at the end of the source is “See you again next week — until then, I’m going back “Under the Rock.”” - your username is ‘undertherock.dc’.

Did you write the article? R0paire 21:01, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Undertherock.dc (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I understand that this previous user (or group of users) have instigated some sensitivity toward the topic that I have approached, but as previously discussed I am a contributor to the UConn Daily Campus and as such my real-life byline is available.

I do not believe I have broken any rules in my editing here: After making two original edits with the addition of my source, another user informed me that it would be best to re-convene a discussion anyway. I did so, and even started conversing legitimate points with another user.

I merely referenced the text of a previous edit in my own, and did not start any "flame wars." In the "investigation" here, it appears that my partial usage of that logged edit was so egregious as to result in an immediate ban without the ability to respond in the section where that is apparently encouraged.

Obviously, this previous user is or was a UConn student. 20-odd thousand others are too, so maybe I am just a little confused. Undertherock.dc (talk) 04:31, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

My job here as an uninvolved administrator is to review the facts of this case and the rationale for the block. Suffice to say, looking at the behavioural etc. evidence, I would have under the same circumstances blocked you myself, and therefore find that this block was both justified and reasonable. Your appeal does not convince me that you are not a sock puppet, as alleged. If you wish to be unblocked, you need to go back to your original account and appeal from there, as we do not unblock socks. I'm declining your request. DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:58, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@DoubleGrazing: what evidence are you actually referencing in making your decision? I understand that The Bushranger has recruited a "Check User" to, as the name would imply, check my data to prove that I am a so-called "sock puppet," however, the only evidence actually linked is that I took a previous edit and re-formatted it for a new edit.
Can you point to the specific policy where that is not allowed, noting that I made other additions and changes in said edit and added a secondary source, too? Undertherock.dc (talk) 16:31, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I won't spell out your tells. But every post you make makes it very clear you are, in fact, Jonathanhusky. Stop evading your block. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:58, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, I can assure you that I am not. I would welcome you to come enjoy UConn's main campus, I will even guide you on a tour. We can visit the physical archives, and assess the sources I used to compile my article. I am currently in the process of seeking if some of these materials can be reproduced online, which would hopefully help R0paire's request that some substantial amount of "additional" sources are presented.
Did you know: Dennis the Menace, a daily comic strip following the antics of a young boy and his dog, made its debut on March 12th 1951 here in the US. Halfway across the world, Dennis the Menace, a daily comic strip following the antics of a young boy and his dog, similarly started printing on March 12th 1951, in Great Britain. In an age before our interconnected lifestyle, I'd be hard-pressed to claim that the two are related or one stole the idea from the other.
I was working on my Daily Campus article long before any turbulence on Wikipedia. Indeed, I read that saga from the sidelines, and I suppose I can understand your concerns but at no point have I attempted to break any editing rules or user policies, and am not the someone else you claim I am. Undertherock.dc (talk) 19:45, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, you confirm you're Jonathanhusky with this post. Stop evading your block. - The Bushranger One ping only 19:47, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@PhilKnight: Would you be able to clarify as to what actual evidence you referenced in marking "possible" on the "sock puppet investigation" page? The Bushranger here appears to not being able to accept the truth that I am not some other previously banned user. Undertherock.dc (talk) 21:18, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your underlying IP address geolocates to approximately the same location as the sock master. PhilKnight (talk) 04:31, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And in addition to that, you are behaving in exactly the same way as Jonathanhusky and his previous socks. Also you are not banned, although if you continue in this vein you may well become so. I say again: stop evading your block. Drop the stick. Go and edit other Wikimedia projects productively on other topics for at least six months and then request unblocking via WP:UTRS (as your original account has had TPA revoked). - The Bushranger One ping only 05:10, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I am located on the University of Connecticut campus. Obviously, that prior user (and "sock puppets") are either current or former students. It can also be expected that users editing about a town or community may, sometimes at least, be located in that very area. I'm connected to the school's network. Unless there is a material or factual issue with the edits I've made, or that I have somehow violated Wikipedia policy, I do not see why your inquisition is laudable. Undertherock.dc (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I am still not Jonathan the Husky, and have always followed every Wikipedia policy and rule to the fullest extent possible. I am located near the UConn campus, and as I have explained I am a Daily Campus contributor which means my references are readily available.Undertherock.dc (talk) 02:06, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This claim is not credible. But even if it were, that would only make it meat puppetry- though I don't think it is. I think you are the same person. 331dot (talk) 07:33, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@331dot: You are incorrect on both counts. The only thing that suggests that I am Jonathan the Husky is the fact that you have "geolocated" me to the UConn campus. I do not know who that user really is, but I implore you to send me a WP:EMAIL to prove it to whatever your satisfaction. Undertherock.dc (talk) 00:33, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may make a new request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 00:47, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Undertherock.dc (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I am not Jonathan the Husky and never have been. Once again you can send me an email to satisfy whatever legitimate concerns you may have. I am a Daily Campus contributor, and as such am located near UConn. Furthermore, the edits which caused my original block were sourced and corrective-improving. Undertherock.dc (talk) 21:39, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notes:

 • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
 • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=I am not Jonathan the Husky and never have been. Once again you can send me an email to satisfy whatever legitimate concerns you may have.
