[edit] Hello, I'm Cassiopeia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Glendale, California, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Cassiopeia talk 00:55, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
I will re-add the additional information with sources.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Glendale–Burbank Line into Glendale, California. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g.,
copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:59, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Pink Armenia moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Pink Armenia, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. Right now you have one.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 15:22, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit] Hello SGJ1991! Your additions to GALAS LGBTQ+ Armenian Society have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:05, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 6
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited GALAS LGBTQ+ Armenian Society, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Advocate. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

History of Armenian Americans in Los Angeles
[edit]This would make a very good featured article, when you're finished added material, you should submit the article to the WP:GOCE and prepare it for a Good article nomination, and then a featured article nomination. They will really examine the refs, so that is something that should take special attention. Greetings from a fellow (I presume) Angeleno // Timothy :: talk 07:00, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you!
- - Fellow Angeleno SGJ1991 (talk) 19:22, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- I did notice the significant changes you made, and am concerned about some of them. I'll review and add them to the Talk page for the article. SGJ1991 (talk) 19:31, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Here is my advice (for whatever its worth, forgive if you are aware of these, I'm assuming from the number of edits you've made your newish)
- If you look at similar wikipedia articles, only look at those that have been rated as "Good", "A", or "Featured", these articles have been reviewed by the community. Things may have changed, but you will have better luck seeing good examples on those articles. Others may or may not be good examples. Nothing is worse than using a bad example as a model.
- Everything that isn't an objective fact and obviously true to someone unfamiliar with the topic should have a reference. Anything without a reference can be deleted.
- Avoid anything that looks promotional. Lists of non-notable organizations, businesses, etc should be avoided. I know how hard it is not to be a booster for my community, because Los Angeles is obviously far and away the greatest place in the world that has ever existed and everyone should know everything about it ;)
- Unless you are sure a subject is notable do not redlink it. An easy way to tell if you should redlink something is can you place two references (and everything should be referenced) for the item from WP:Independent WP:RS with WP:SIGCOV addressing the subject directly and indepth. Sources that have a connection to the subject do not show notability. If you can place two sources that meet this criteria, then either you or someone else will be able to create an article from the redlink. Other redlinks just go stale.
- Avoid any subjective words such as "great", "best", "bad"; you want concise, encyclopedic content, with a neutral tone. MOS:PEACOCK, WP:NPOV
- Not everything about a subject is encyclopedic content, even if you have a reference for it, see WP:WEIGHT
- Links in articles to this page will help it get read; when you link to a page from the article think if there is a way to place a link in that article to this page. Don't force it, but if it fits definitely place it.
- Also check out Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Layout, MOS:OVERSECTION, WP:LEAD.
- Your writing is better than mine, but I find Grammarly to be very helpful, you may as well. Zotero is also very helpful for managing references (make sure to download the Wikipedia citation templates). I try and add tools I find helpful here User:TimothyBlue#Free tools for editing Wikipedia
- Also you might be interested in Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library, tons of databases and research sites are available for free, such as ProQuest, Newspaper Archive.com, JSTOR.
On a related note, I started to look for sources to create Armenian Genocide Memorial (Los Angeles), but got sidetracked.[1]. Its doubtful I will return to it, so if you want to research and write the article, feel free. The article would probably be 3-5 paragraphs + lead.
Hope some of the above helps, I'm sure you already knew much of it. // Timothy :: talk 20:59, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Anthony Portantino visits GALAS' booth at the 2014 San Gabriel Valley Pride event.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Anthony Portantino visits GALAS' booth at the 2014 San Gabriel Valley Pride event.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about El Vaquero
[edit]Hello SGJ1991, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, El Vaquero, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/El Vaquero.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kudpung}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

[edit]
Hello SGJ1991. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:SGJ1991. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=SGJ1991|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MediaKyle (talk) 22:15, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for any of my edits, on any article. SGJ1991 (talk) 22:28, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Gotcha. You are still required to disclose your conflicts of interest nonetheless. Please review the conflict of interest policy and make the appropriate disclosures. MediaKyle (talk) 22:47, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- This has been added. SGJ1991 (talk) 22:55, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. MediaKyle (talk) 22:58, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- You have also made significant contributions to Armenian National Committee of America, some of which were struck as being copyvios from the organization's website. Have you disclosed all the conflicts of interest related to articles you're editing? MediaKyle (talk) 23:10, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, all conflicts have been disclosed.
- I have no relation to Armenian National Committee of America. SGJ1991 (talk) 23:12, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Understood. Thank you for your cooperation, I appreciate your swift replies. I would recommend you make use of edit requests going forward on subjects with which you have a conflict of interest, when you want to make a major content change. MediaKyle (talk) 23:16, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- SGJ1991, I've looked into your contribution history further and I'm unconvinced you have made all of the necessary disclosures. Please check again and make sure that any and all articles relating to groups, organizations, and people you are directly affiliated with are listed in your disclosures. MediaKyle (talk) 23:29, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- I caught one more. If there are specific ones beyond that, please let me know. SGJ1991 (talk) 23:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. What about Los Angeles LGBT Center and Museum of Neon Art? Also, you should add Armenia lobby in the United States as well, because of the affiliation with Armenian Assembly of America. That should just about cover it for my concerns. MediaKyle (talk) 23:55, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Los Angeles LGBT Center and Armenia lobby in the United States make sense. I've added them.
- I am not employed by Museum of Neon Art, and do not believe that there is a conflict, SGJ1991 (talk) 17:55, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi SGJ1991, just circling back to this now. Thanks again for declaring your COIs. I don't want you to feel like you're being villainized because you've been an active contributor for a while and it's clear you're not here just to promote anyone. However, the nature of a lot of your edits, in particular to Armenian Assembly of America, have been quite promotional, and you make heavy use of primary sources such as press materials from these organizations as your citations. This is a bit of a problem, and if you have difficulty writing neutrally about these topics it may be best to leave it to someone else, or make edit requests. I won't be the one to do it, but other editors would be within their right to take a chainsaw to the aforementioned promotional material. I won't bug you anymore from here.
- I caught one more. If there are specific ones beyond that, please let me know. SGJ1991 (talk) 23:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- Gotcha. You are still required to disclose your conflicts of interest nonetheless. Please review the conflict of interest policy and make the appropriate disclosures. MediaKyle (talk) 22:47, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
